I was 16 in 2005 and (still) living in Cologne like back then so I decided to become a volunteer and it was great. I am catholic but woudln't consider myelf as religious. I have my faith but that's it. But this was something different. We did have to work as we were one of the many that were in charge to cater the pilgrims but still we got to so much time to enjoy it and even got to spend the night at the Marienfeld. I can only recommend to experience a WYD yourself as a pilgrim or a volunteer even if you're not that religous. It's something you'll never forget😊
