    From the looks of it, there ARE no elemental hitzones in this game. Element is simply "conditional" raw. If the monster is weak to an element, the element value simply gets added to the raw to get the final overall attack, then motion values are applied, and the final damage calculated based on that. This makes element equally important on all weapons.

    • @evanjohn9005
      @evanjohn9005 10 місяців тому +1

      This is correct, it is essentially doubling your raw when they are weak.

    Hey hunter rank 74 and 8 stars monster hunter here, just a quick note to all of you, start building elemental gear and wepons, atk boost and crit eye are only the cherry on top in later hunts but never worth it if you sacrifice element up for it. Element up is the only way to kill 8 star monsters and above. I see a lot of videos where its mentioned that the rathalos mail is the singel best armor piece and should never be swapped and while its very good its not worth it if u need elemet up but cant get it because you refuse to take it off. But i don't really have the time and resources to invest into more than 1 elemental weapon. Kulu longsword alone is already difficult enough to upgrade. I know elemental weapon is stronger but that's just not a practical and realistic strategy for casual players. I heard that they are adding decorations to this game in the future, my bet is that they are going to add crit boost decorations so that my high affinity will pay off when the update happens

      Don't generalize, because raw damage will still do the job when using Greatsword or Hammer (Blos Hammer exists for a reason). GS the most economic weapon while hammer is more forgiving.

    I'm really feeling that five-star wall right now. I started the game going for the paralysis sword and shield and a divine blessing set but at the point I am right now I literally cannot kill a five-star monster with more than 5-10 seconds on the clock remaining. Even if I play absolutely perfectly. Couldn't even enjoy the diablos event because there wasn't enough time to kill him I would always fail the fight with him having around 5% of his health left.

    • @AifritGaming
      @AifritGaming  10 місяців тому

      Yeah, I find there’s a bit of a chicken and egg paradox too. Once I could make the diablos hammer things changed completely but I needed to push my para hammer as far as I could to even kill enough diablos. Doesn’t help making a mistake sits you down for too long to try again.

    • @Raidus1
      @Raidus1 10 місяців тому +1

      Diablos was probably the worst monster they could've used for that opening event:
      - A 5* mon, the second to last unlock which means a lot of players wont even have it yet.
      - Only 2 weaknesses: Para and Ice (We don't count Dragon)
      Para is, as you said, probably not enough to kill for most players at this level, and if you didn't build an ice weapon yet your probably gonna fail most hunts.
      - Only has craftable weapon (Hammer) (Edit: It's 2 forget about Bow, sry.)
      - Hits like a truck, one failure and you either have to wait for 18min or drink a potion. Which options sounds better in a 3h time window event?
      It's as if this was done to see how many current players are willing to buy potions.

Very affordable way to boost your damage. I’m also liking burst as well. I don’t have all the elemental up gauntlets yet so I sub in the Rathian gauntlets for burst. It’s really easy to proc constantly with bow.

    Pin here for info from brilliant viewers!
    Rising Tide turns out to be incredibly powerful, level 1 provides 30 attack after 25 seconds and 60 attack after 50 seconds!
    Peak Performance is also an option if you don't get hit and stay at max health for 30 attack.
    Element appears to be completely different in this game so the assessment is not correct. Element attack seems like it is always worth it given you're matching up weaknesses correctly.
    I forgot to mention it but Critical Eye can be found on Leather Headgear, and Kulu head hands and feet.

      Partbreaker always worked like a softener. Displayed dmg in MHW and MHR was higher but didn't do more dmg to the monster. It was just so that every part has HP till it breaks. So you do more dmg against that parts HP and not more dmg in general. It's weird I know. So I wonder if we do actually more dmg "now".

      Hey great point I’d forgot about this one. From my testing it seems to be a flat and equal boost for the first and second trigger. However it’s hard to pin point the exact amount it is increasing by as hit zones and motion values are a little nebulous. I’m guessing it’s like 20 attack each trigger at level 1. It depends on the weapon type, flat damage is good for fast weapons while percent damage is good for weapons that deals high damage in single strike. As a greatsword main, I have soloed a Diablos decently with just Barroth GS 4 5/5 using Critical Eye 3.

    • @AifritGaming
      @AifritGaming  10 місяців тому +1

      I don't think this is true for attack. The main thing that should matter is the expected overall damage increase from receiving the stats. Affinity will provide a decent amount of variance especially at low values but the averaged percentage increase can be calculated by taking your affinity and multiplying it against 25% (the increase in damage from criting). So with 20% affinity from CE in your case, it is 0.2 x 25 = 5% expected overall damage increase over time. This can then be enumerated to attack by comparing it to having 5% more attack all the time. So at say, 600 attack, the 20% affinity is worth about 30 attack.

    • @Entropy-ic3tf
      @Entropy-ic3tf 10 місяців тому +2

      @@AifritGamingThat's just also false, you're evaluating crit chance value as flat number, which is false by default. Sometimes you crit 3 times in a row sometimes you don't. It's that simple, the 20% crit chance is not something to be calculated because it's literally RNG. 1.25 is the base value of a crit attack in MonHon and 600*1.25 is 750 raw attack damage. The real value of crit eye in MHNow is that you can always hunt again so as long as you have HP. If you're really lucky with crits, you can beat monsters that is above your level just like what I said that I beat Diablos solo even if I only beat Anjanath Chapter.
      Critical Eye is just the most economic damage boost when you're using heavy raw weapons for the late game scaling so you won't have to blow your money for multiple armors and weapons.

    Everyone talking about element builds. But my question is what other choice is there? Ive got water fire and electric +3 from my armor set and i been switching weapons every monster since i started the game. I never saw the point of making a raw build when there's only 4 elements and almost all the monsters weak to atleast one

    • @AifritGaming
      @AifritGaming  8 місяців тому

      It's just a matter of having the materials in the early game to build out 4 different weapons. Specializing element weapons ends up being the way to go in the late game so if you feel like you're already doing well with that then that's pretty ideal.

    Question on Weakness exploit skill...does that mean there are specific "weak spots" for each of the different monsters or are they the same like the "head"? I'm not quite sure what the game defines as weak spot...

    • @AifritGaming
      @AifritGaming  10 місяців тому

      Yeah, "the head" is generally good. Historically, if you see orange numbers you are hitting a weak spot. There's not much defined to know clearly besides that right now.

  • @Steven-xf8mz

    Could someone explains the "Weak Zones"? Are these the same as the lock-on parts? If so, Lock-on skill becomes very useful and necessary.

    • @AifritGaming
      @AifritGaming  10 місяців тому +1

      The term is pretty vague in Now as the game doesn’t give us specifics on monster hit zones. Generally I’d say a measurement is areas that have orange damage numbers are a weak zone. To break it down:
      In Monster Hunter, each monster part has a “hit zone” which has a value associated with it. This value determines how much damage you deal when hitting that part. In the main games, higher than 45 was considered a “weak zone”.
      Generally you’ll want to hit the weakest part which is the head most of the time.
      Areas that show grey numbers are definitely not a weak spot.
      Yes, I think lock on for melee weapons should more or less be essential.

    • @Steven-xf8mz
      @Steven-xf8mz 10 місяців тому

      @@AifritGaming interesting!!! Because I thought Damage Calculation is based on a ranged simulation and critical hit is just 25% added after the simulation. So I have always taken "red" as lucky shots/critical shots, because damage do vary a lot when I'm using melee on the same place when monster is stationary. With what you said, I think I'll try to pay more attention to dmg per zones to see if there are truly differences.
      of course, lazy way is just to play casually and wait for more information to be released. lol.

      It's basically a free 10%-20% attack increase for the early game, it's probably the most important armor skill until you have stronger weapons/better skill options.

      @AifritGaming  10 місяців тому

      60 is 5% of 1200! A point of crit eye is 10% affinity which is about 2.5% gain. With 1200 attack it is basically equivalent to 30 extra attack. Until we get things like crit boost and can fit a ton of skills into the builds, flat damage increases are pretty good. Especially with how large they are currently. No doubt they are less noticeable as you progress further in the game but early game it is massive.

      @qwsa3r yeah that’s totally fair that crit has odds to give much higher upper bounds if lucky. Plus if you don’t get hit you can leave the hunt and keep trying for that lucky attempt.

    Black diablos Weapon, Diablos helm Black diablos mail diablos vambraces black diablos coil rathalos legs
    Heroics 5, lock on 1, resentment 2, weakness exploit 1, firm foothold 1, fire res 1
    on level 6 this gives you a 1213 attack (whereas 755 is already a lot) plus partbreaker!
    but now youre asking... getting hit under 30 % on that level is risky! then i got just the build for you
    Diablos weapon Diablos helm, Legiana mail Diablos vambraces Paolumu Coil and black diablos legs
    Heroics 5, Divine blessing 4 , windproof 1, offensive guard 1, partbreaker 1
    this way staying around 40 health will almost always make you survive, whith divine blessing as a background safety your damage will still be at a whopping 1006
    and for fun, if you are level 10 then your black diablos weapon of choice with the risky number 1 option will give you a fucking 3244 while the normal raw of a kulu weapon would be 1675 without buffs...

    I dont think affinity works that way, affinity is the percentage of how rarely u get a crit per hit, not dealing extra dmg per 10%
    not saying that this vid is bad but ur missing a lot of "offensive" skills

    • @AifritGaming
      @AifritGaming  10 місяців тому +1

      Sorry I kind of quicken the math. For example 10% affinity means 10% of the time you will deal 25% more damage from a crit. Averaged out this amounts to a 2.5% damage increase.

      If it’s like other games the element part simply cannot crit. Usually you need a skill called critical element to make element also crit. Hypothetically, when you do crit with crit element, both crit at the same time but the crit multipliers are separate (based on level of crit element skill) so they kind of add together after.
