- Part one of One Direction's complete journey on series seven of the UK X Factor in 2010, including their televised performances and everything that happened backstage and in the contestants houses. Part One includes the boy's first auditions, bootcamp, being put together as a band and performing at judge's houses.

@@makadray Michael Buble isn’t even very relevant right now, so I doubt Liam would have done any better if he went down the crooner route. He’d probably do worse. Liam has always been into RnB and hip hop, so his solo career isn’t out of the ordinary. While jazz probably fits his voice best, it’s not authentic to him artistically and his voice is versatile enough that he can get a way with doing other stuff. His main issue is lack of creative control over his music.

Everyone is not crushing for Liam. He and his song was Bland. He better be glad he was put in that Band because he was going nowhere fast. It takes more than singing a tune to be a great artist. You have to have a personality and something that makes you unique. In my opinion, he had neither but if you watch closely he thought he was the best of everyone on that season. @@ronjar618 listen i love niall and he didn’t do his best here which is totally fine cuz he was young and they saw potential. but when the judges were deliberating, they mostly addressed his strong suits as being his personality and i thought that was funny since it’s a singing competition :)

It’s funny how the show was clearly pushing Liam as a front man, but people just loved Harry more. Simon even said Liam was a bit too “one dimensional” to be a frontman (although he is still very successful today)

Simon is someone who can instantly spot something special in a person and u can see how instantly he was charmed by all the boys right from their first audition
It was Nicole's idea to form them as a group..
Simon said in 2016 that his biggest career mistake was turning down the Spice Girls when they knocked on his door in 1995 he told them that girl bands don't sell. but they went on to become the biggest selling girl group of all time. In 1998 Simon was bitter about his decision so he tried to emulate the Spice Girls by creating a group called Girl Thing to compete (he even told this group that they were going to be as big as the Spice Girls)- but Girl Thing turned out to be a big disaster. Simon swept it under the rug & never talked about it again.. There's a few videos of Girl Thing on UA-cam some of it's kind of cringe, and some of it is kind of sad especially the interviews they had during the second season of The Big Reunion series in 2014, their story is kinda heartbreaking
