@@fvg hey personally I want to say thank you very much for your time and watching the videos and also your comment your comment is very nice and very well received. I really appreciate it. A little bit overwhelming but I find that there is a some people that know stuff that simply do not want to pass it on to a younger generation. I will admit that sometimes this channel does become a little bit of a hassle or a little bit aggravating because there are people out there. You have to soon feed them. Absolutely! Every little detail and it's like I'm giving you the information here. I'm showing you how to do it. I'm showing you where to go get more information and all you can do is you know. Hey how do I do that you know? Hey how do I put this together with this? You know it's like they have no sense of adventure or no sense of of here. Let's try this and see if it works or not. You know they they have no try and it's just really kind of disappointing. Although it's great when I can help somebody get their car running again and get it back on the ride even when I'm not really physically there so it's really really great. I really appreciate it. I appreciate you

@@slantfish65sd speaking from experience, I turn 26 tomorrow, having started my A body projects at 19, it’s been almost entirely the older generation that taught me everything valuable that I need to know. The lack of availability of parts and how expensive some of this stuff is becoming reduces the margin of acceptable error even just from a sense of it being expensive to make mistakes over and over again, so I personally make sure I do all my research before I even start something.
The main driver for me learning all this stuff was due to horrible shop experiences that I faced one after another trying to get my valiant fixed up. That caused me to pursue the mechanical knowledge on my own. Because if you care about something enough you’ll learn, it’s as simple as that.
It comes down to a general lack of understanding and availability of carbureted vehicles on the road, and a lack of care from these modern mechanics, but also you need to have the hands on experience to fabricate parts sometimes, and young people don’t always understand what’s involved when they bite into a big project. Social media makes everything seem so easy and accessible, but unfortunately that’s just not the case for everyone, especially if they’re inexperienced. People get caught up in the thought of the final product that they drown themselves in work they dont understand, and that leads them to ask a million seemingly dumb questions.
These cars are also simply at an age now where the only way to properly restore and maintain one is to have the passion to learn it.
The kids of my generation have a lot of passion. Like a lot of passion, but they lack the drive and creativity to problem solve on their own, generally speaking. A part of that is due to how many step by step walkthroughs exist for absolutely everything now.
If it wasn’t for the forums and for UA-cam creators like yourself, I can say with confidence I would have drowned in work I wasn’t qualified to do, but I think what sets me apart is I have the ability to fill in gaps and take things apart if I’m not sure how something works or goes together, and the thought of messing something up doesn’t overwhelm me anymore because I’ve taken the time to learn enough.
Most people take on a project and give up the second it gets hard nowadays, and they’re scared to take the risk involved to create something themselves.

In turn I am the youngest at the Mopar shows by a considerable margin, but it makes people excited to share their experience with me because they see I have that drive to learn and build a good car.
I started with my grandpas petty blue 73 valiant four door, and now we have a 64 dart four door, 64 dart GT with buckets, and a 64 valiant taxi cab. I literally could not have done this without channels like yours teaching me about the slant.

I bought an aluminum two barrel manifold off a Super Six truck. A rebuilt carb came from O Reilly's. Everything was a bolt on easy install.

I have a 63 valiant and I installed a 4-barrel holley. My original setup uses the rod and I need to figure out how to install a cable. Do I need a complete different gas pedal assembly? If so what years and what model? Thank you

Hey, first of all, thank you very much for your comment and thank you for watching the video. Really appreciate it. As to your question, you will need a completely different throttle pedal and linkage assembly. The original setup that you got as you've probably already seen won't easily work with that. Carburetor the bell crank and rod assembly that you have. Don't think there's an easy way to make it work now. There are about three different options that you can use. Here's what I did. I used an 81 to 87 Dodge truck, gas pedal assembly and cable that worked out really well for me with my slant six and my barracuda. I have a 65 Barracuda with a slant six in it and the cable wasn't too long. It was actually just about right. There are two other options. They are aftermarket. There is one company called lokar. They manufacture a wide variety of shifter cables and kickdown cables and also throttle cables specifically for hot rods, street rods. Muscle cars. You can find them Jegs summit Racing also they offer cables. They probably offer also a pedal assembly. If you look around on like summit Racing or jegs or any other companies like that, there's probably going to be some sort of aftermarket gas pedal assembly that you can use. Then there's also a cable assembly that is offer by Mr. Gasket and they also probably also sell some sort of aftermarket gas pedal assembly also, there's probably some other cars that would work that have the correct length cable and a throttle pedal assembly that will bolt into the car. I just use my setup from the trucks because it was easily available and it worked out really well and it wasn't very expensive at all. Sometimes some of the aftermarket stuff. The quality just isn't there, especially like with Mr. Gasket. You did not mention your transmission if it is an automatic transmission with a regular valve body. You will need to use some sort of kickdown linkage. Make sure you do that. If you don't, you could just ruin a good automatic transmission. However, if you have a manual valve body in your automatic transmission which then you're talking about more race oriented than you won't need a kickdown linkage and then of course if you have a manual transmission, then of course you won't need a kickdown linkage at all. Okay, I hope this helps. If you have any further questions feel free to ask and again, thank you very much

I'm doing this right now. How do you recommend adapting the choke? My factory bimetallic choke is perpendicular to the two barrel I'm adding
