The flex joint is supposed to attach at the frame per JKS instructions.
Mech tip: never hammer in a bolt, use the impact to drive it in place. This way you don’t risk damaging the bolt tread.
I do this as you said because of how many bolts I have lost by over torquing. :'( Heed Kevin's advice!
Installed backwards.
Does the adjustable end go one axle or frame? I've seen both.
I have found one of the lower rams bushings need to replace shall replace arms or can only replace the bushing arms, also the one in the car i guess not factory one and i don't know what type of armas has been installed by old owner please advise
Cool video but the front panhar bar looks like is hittting the diff cover. 👍
can you adjust pinion angle with just lowers or would be uppers be better ?
Most owners just stick with the front lower control arms to adjust the angles. However, for a full correction, all 8 arms works best!
How do you determine the correct length for the control arm if you’re upgrading from stock suspension to a 2 1/2 inch lift? Would you just unscrew the jam nut 2 1/2 inches?
Did you ever figure this out? I’m in the same position. Going to be upgrading from stock to adjustable. Went with 3.25” lift. Ahh help would be appreciated. Thank you.
Love how they explain how to measure for different lengths. Thanks. Not.
I've seen people use spinning the jam nut to spread the anti seize on the exposed threads...if this is wrong, how do you suggest doing it? 2, does a torque wrench with claw tool fit on the jam nut with the arm installed? Seems like it wouldn't. Thanks! I bought these exact control arms last year but I was waiting for the rest of my lift before installing.
I just put a set on mine. JKS instructions says to put flex joint on frame side bracket. No problem getting the 1-7/8” crows foot and torque wrench on them.
@@brianschutt5359 that's interesting that the rubber bushing would go on the axle, but that will make the jam nut easier. Thanks for the reply.
Craig R. Update... after watching video further... I only have rear control arms on mine but will have the fronts arriving in a couple days. I haven’t looked at JKS instructions for front control arms.
@@brianschutt5359 i dug the instructions out. Rubber bushing does go to the axle. @extremeterrain.com fyi, you appear to have installed these backwards.
