The reason behind it may have to do with the runes inscribed on the body of the blade. Once the blade is removed by breaking it off from the hilt and the demon is neutralized, the sword will be rendered useless until a new blade is made.
Well maybe in this game. But Lore and Comics the Doom Slayer killed the Icon of Sin without the blade, because he already killed immortal beings before. Not to mention in Doom 2 he kill the Icon of Sin with just his guns and he was just a human at that time.
Well in doom 2 the icon of sin was basically a glorified wall mount with and exposed brain who could summon demons not some humongous skyscraper sized titan thing
DS has actually killed a Titan without a crucible, The Champion Titan. He killed it just by punching it, he did what he does best, Rip and Tear. At the time he did it, he was just normal Doomguy, no blessing of the divinity machine or anything like that. He also didn't have his Praetor Suit which allows him to siphon Argent Energy from demons to heal and make him stronger. He also canonically makes his weapons stronger using Argent energy, cuz normally those weapons wouldn't be able to scratch the demons.
Show them ULTRAKILL, I mean its literally Doom but at 120 mph with the power of capitalism and shotgun punching. Also, V1 hides its weapons in its "wings"
They should react to the dark lord plus his lore next and the lore of doom plus some songs I really want to see how they react that the doom Slayer is able to survive the sun and that he is a "god" (but he is just a very very very angry person)
