  • Excerpts from a stop motion film that tells the Bible story of David and Goliath.
Goliath is the villain of this story. I spent a good amount of time refining his look to make him menacing while still relatable to a viewer. His stylized look is achieved through a mix of premade action figure parts, a hard polymer clay head and eyes as well as soft clay replacement mouths and eyebrows. I loved animating this character- getting readable expressions out of small pieces of clay. It was also exciting to sync up the vocals of my actor to the stop motion puppet. The marriage of Tom Celli's (Goliath's) voice and this amalgamation of clay and plastic, set to a score by George Aljian (narrator and composer) creates a unique performance that brings this treasured story to life in a new way.

Love the camera angles especially at the end its so effective. I also really liked the use of a figure for the base of the puppet I have never seen that before. Really awesome!!!!! Great animation :)
