Safety first, amen. These are powerful and twitchy bikes for sure. I'm fairly experienced and it still surprises me from time to time. Can be tons of fun, and I love my xsr900.
Great stuff, thank you. I just looked at a blue XSR900 today. It's the same bike I used to rent for a few days at a time last season, but it's still in great shape. To me, it was very capable, but very relaxing at the same time, because it's so light, small (in form) and simple. I'm still of the mindset that one can tour on any bike...it all depends on what your standard for touring is. I took the bike to Hokkaido but it was with a small backpack with change of clothes and a small tail bag, and all I did was hotel hop, so there's that. It was still loads of fun. I reckon I'll never find spacing between gas stations more that about 150kms anywhere in Japan, so that's why you see people touring on all shapes and sizes of bikes. Anyhow, I resisted the urge to buy the XSR today, then I watched this video, which will make it harder next time. Cheers!
I have one of these. Same year and colour scheme. I chucked a Delkovich exhaust on mine. Talk about loud! I started off in STD mode but find that after a while you get used to A mode quite quickly. I go into STD when it rains but thats about it. A great bike! Friggin' love it!
Hello Great video I have been riding for one season now on a husqvarna svartpilen 401 and now thinking of this bike for my new bike and to keep a long time Here in Norway
I have the 2021 sxr900 it's ok but I find the top end to just not be there I have in A mod and trak 2 and I have a full exhaust and power is just not there
It can be beginner freindly just change mode on it so it's slower on respond etc. Plus on the new ones there I'd wheelie lock thing so it won't reach high cause then the limit kicks in and lower your front wheel to ground. Wich is a very smart freindly function for starters and for wheelie practice :) Myself thinking about get a XSR or a MT but I'm leaning at XSR. I only got few hours on road when i was younger and had a 883 sportster when i was new to bike. I don't got license so.. but i know the basic stuff. It all comes to your mind how you wanna drive it and your guy that teach you how to be safe etc. Sure wrisiting the acceleration will make u pop wheelie etc haha.. but I'm sure me as beginner probably won't do that on first day at least when practicing. 😂
I've had alot of bikes in the 40+ years I've been riding street bikes and this is my favorite bike I've ever owned. I no longer miss my Ducati. (Not saying it's better than a duck)

It’s an amazing bike, thanks heaps for watching 👍
I would recommend a tune, yes they say it’s not needed but you will gain a lot from a reflash.
Or a power commander and auto tune.

Hahaha!!!
Does the front wheel lift when just rolling the throttle? Just curious how powerful it is?
I can get it to come up in 1st and second with a throttle snap
8hp more without the db killer akro✊🔥🔥

A mode with trac1 is pretty golden.
