We have an upcoming episode on the Mount Rushmore of Cereals. But, we go for a more objective, factual look at what is most important/iconic/famous/timeless/etc when doing a "Mount Rushmore". FWIW, Cheerios and Frosted Flakes are non-negotiables for the Mount Rushmore. Their importance and constant popularity speak for themselves. I also would argue for the 4 to be rounded out with Corn Flakes (basically started modern-day cereals) and Rice Krispies (they have the treats, constant popularity, and were the first cereal to use mascots as targeting for children). My 4 faves are.... idk, not those 4 though. I don't love frosted flakes tbh.
@@themountrushmoreofeverythi7925 I almost checked out your channel, cause I liked how personal you got with this weird plug. But that is the worst Mount Rushmore list I've ever seen.
In our upcoming episode on this, I'm pretty sure we both agreed Frosted Flakes are absolutely in the Cereal Mount Rushmore. It's basically the first true "Sugar Cereal" and has been in the top 2-3 most popular cereals basically since it came out.
If it's Mount Rushmore, then it's a historic nod to cereals that paved the way for all cereals. Has to be something like Cheerios, Corn Flakes, Rice Crispies and Bran Flakes. Ronald Reagan isn't on Mount Rushmore, so neither should be Honey Smacks. Don't even bring it up.
YES. SOMEONE WHO GETS IT. A Mount Rushmore should be something striving to be objective to have any point or meaning at all! Otherwise it's just a personal favorite top 4, which, who the heck cares? In our upcoming episode, I picked Corn Flakes (basically the father of modern cereal along with the much-less-popular grape nuts), Cheerios for being routinely in the top 2 most popular cereals and for being at the start of the next wave of popularity in cereals- they basically CREATED General Mills, Rice Krispies as they are the first cereal to use mascots to market to kids and also have a world-famous dessert named after them and made from them AS WELL AS being a legendary cereal on their own. The only one I picked differently than you is that I had Frosted Flakes - they basically birthed the "true sugar cereals", introduced one of the most famous Mascots in Tony The Tiger, and have been top 2-3 most popular cereal since they came out. Glad you're standing up for what a Mount Rushmore should be! Love it!
@@themountrushmoreofeverythi7925 I absolutely agree with your selections. I was thinking Shredded Wheat could have also been an option instead of Bran Flakes, but I think your inclusion of Frosted Flakes to be much more appropriate. Good call on the birthing of the sugar cereals reason. 100% in agreement.
Captain Crunch ( original because f the berries version), Frosted Flakes, Honey Nut Cheerios, & honorable mention for Cocoa Puffs if you're in a chocolate mood.
Me and hank are simpatico. Mixing cereals is the best! Also, rice Krispy treats cereal was my favorite, so fucking good.. then they went and rebranded and it is now regular Rice Krispies with tiny marshmallows.. 🤦♀️ they fucked up changing it
They also basically started modern-day cereals. It's also incredible how long it has stayed relevant. Almost all the still-popular cereals we have today are from the 50s or later, but Corn Flakes were made in the freaking 1800's. In our upcoming episode on Breakfast Cereals, I had Corn Flakes in my Mount Rushmore. There's really no question. We might not have cereal at all today without it. It's basically the "George Washington of Cereals" if you will.
Yeah, my issue with this is that they've dumbed it down to be simply a "My 4 least favorite". Who the heck cares about your personal taste? Mount Rushmore doesn't represent someone's personal favorite (or, in this flushmore case, least favorite) presidents. It represents the importance of what the presidents did and were for their country. We like to take a more objective look at Mount Rushmores, measuring on factors like iconicness, importance, greatness, popularity, and more.
What's your Mount Flushmore of Cereals? I despise Special K
Pardon My Take fruity pebbles, Cheerios, golden grahams, Cinnamon Toast Crunch
