He was focused on a different timing against techies and TB (Heart Butterfly) its easy to die early against techies high ground and with diffusal they wouldve tried to end faster. dont try this in your own rank lol RTZ is on a different level and the gamestate of top immortal is its own meta. diffusal is never bad on PL but it wasnt like they were vsing Ember, Void spirit, or highly elusive heroes that like to engage and re engage (TB TA and DOOM commit to a fight and just stand there and hit things until the skirmish is over) so it wasnt game losing not to buy diffusal. Better to keep your items ahead of TB so hes always has to buy an item to kill you. I think main reason no Diffusal is just techies.
Also TB and TA were trying to deal with a mid SK so they needed BKB and stats to tank up in the fight. the butterfly makes so much sense because get value out of the item before TA and TB can think about buying MKB (have to tank and deal with spells first)

Because it creates images when in meta mode, but the images have some creation time that it ended while tb in melee mode. Conjure images only switch from range to melee if the TB transform too. Since the image not seeing any of tb transformation (because of successfuly created after tb switch back), so it won't transform.
