Doesn't he mean that Blur's songs are better than Elastica's? Which is still douchey, but I'm not sure he's claiming that he wrote some of their songs and they happen to be the "good ones". Idk his wording is very ambiguous

@@sophielou2929 doubt that he did, their music is quite different. I think he's just being bitter about the breakup lol, cause I've read a lot of interviews from both and they usually implied that they influenced each other with some ideas, but not to the extent of actually writing each others' songs. His large contribution to the Elastica album might've been the usual sexist rumour spread at some point (God knows by who) to discredit the band and Justine specifically, in the same way people started thinking that Kurt Cobain wrote Hole's album. It happens quite a lot in pop culture, sadly...
@@noursarhan8695 he could do it, because he was the keyboard player in elastica , and some songs may sound like a blur melody ( for example guitar on Line Up , sounds like guitar on Girls & Boys)
@@noursarhan8695 I must say that this rumor has a rationale, Damon said in a recent interview that some people did early demos for elastica. "Elastica - Spastica" is literally blur's "beached whale" demo
In his recent Zane Lowe interview he even says "this is what I did those early Elastica songs on" while holding up a portable Yamaha sequencer and singing the intro to 'Connection'
