  • Welcome to the other half of our group! For our first SoCal Raptor Runs event, we went all out! Brining the same effort, organization and style to SoCal, we went to Anza Borrego! We hit HARD trails! From jumps, flat out sections for miles, awesome canyons, landscape, washes, and MUCH more. This trip was one for the books.
We spanned this run over two days and a couple hundred miles surrounding the Eastern San Diego deserts. Starting with 16 trucks, we hit the trails day, and night for almost two days solid, headquartering at La Casa Del Zorro. Our group dinner and massive raffle are always a huge hit. The jokes and laughs, cowbells, epic family memories, and more were all shared.
Without our sponsors, none of this would be possible. If you're interested in aftermarket parts for your truck, please reach out to us directly, or any of our amazing sponsors for help. They are the best-of-the-best in the offroad industry, and we have deals for NCRR/SCRR members as well:

Awesome video! How did the Superduty with the Carli kit keep up with the raptors?

Thanks! That's just our chase truck. So, it mainly does the roads and meets us at various spots. It did go through the wash and everything to get out to Fish Creek Wash and did fine. It's also done portions of the Mint 400 race course when we were doing another run. Overall, the Carli kit is great. But I wouldn't say it could "keep up" with the Raptors. It's a massive improvement over stock though, and I wouldn't run any other kit.

Looks like alot of fyn . Raptors are nice and good off road go not get me wrong. I moght hsve wamted to but one but I understand , The way I drive and offfroad surprises will happen now and then. My dad had a Bronco I liked it a lot so when I needed to replace my little toy TRD block 4 cylinder Makuni cam snd intake headers 2"pipe all the way back the rings might be going bad? Smog was going crazy in Commie firnia I like clean air and visability but what can I do, I sold it to a couple buffalo that took it down across the border maybe home and I know why, When kicked out of my house by my mom one morning . She walked into my room and s girk was in my bed. I was not doing her not even sure if I did; She asked me who rhat is and I fouout to be sure and told herand I was gone so thisis what I did. Loaded up my 4 whell drive toy truck doing so walked by my dad on the couch who shrugged his shoulders with a smile and when I had my surfboard that really ripped the waves big or small for this. It road California pipeline double overhead with thick powerful barrels crashing way out front of the wav they looked almost squaRE ! It only breaks tjis good on te right degrees south swell. So good when big not crowded most would not have the balls to padddle out. Living close enough to hear its thunder waking upwhen oing off and see it going off big and can snap your board and hold you down in the washing machine intill you push up with your legs when your feet can touch the sand! I took off in my toy it was quick 4or a little 4 banger with a big webber carb and counterforce clutch I was gone sounding really good. I went straight to a good surf spot iIknow a nice right point break in a nice cove and rocks kept it there and from learning from my firstdive 80 feet down thats where they live so there must be those too. Brought fins and mask Hawaiian sling and rod a lock chain CD's ob arleyFreaky styley Sublime Ice Chest etc.. and headed south. Got there within a couple hours to the spot I stayed before. A little abandon house people must have left before it fell off the litte cliff . Only about 5 feet away to it 20 feet down was the water and sand but looking over though. K38 breaing into its cove sometimes surfing with dolphins jumping over the nose of my board. It was Paradise for me at 17 had a block wall around with a fire pit. A rod Iron Gate to lock in front of the gate and a little shed shack thing for a few things. I kept brooms and stuff to keep it clean as I could and the other bonus when not odd roading is no ID and way cheap drinks and great food a nice bonus for me . Coming from Cali did not have lots of visitors much but San Diego girls for a fire pit after party. But getting back yo why I started this Post I needed to get a another truck to off road. I had been diong this with the litttle roys and going faster getting chased by security on Irvine Company Land. knew the dirt roads some from riding my 2 strokes there a lot in my souped up little toy they could not catch me but would land good over little raised road landing on the downhill slope side not much air at all but was nice on some dual ranchos but now and then I would shatter front shock mounts andhad to gix yhat and did putting steel pipe in the box frame and dessert steel dual mounts it was on again. But replacing that tslking to a friend who raced and had a teamHis dad raced and hestarted too Toyota ave him a 4 runner do build it for that He sold a lot of off roadparts I would see them in a FORD DEALERSHIP SOME. i WAS TOLD BY THEM WHEN ASKED THEM WHAT TO GET THEY TOLD ME THE bronco IS THE BEST CHOICE FROM WHAT iAIDwas HE fULL size LIKE bRONCO87 AND UP WITH THE TTB can be built up with out as nuch money and I could do some of it from what I learned at work installing elevators & escalators working with metal andsubmiting needed changes to pass structural engineers that do all thee math AND KNOW WHAT IS STRONG AND NOT i HAD A COUPLE JOBS TO DO THAT ONE WAS ALOT AND MY DAD HAD A SHOP WITH A GAS STATION THAT HAD MECHANICS YJAT WOULD HELP ME IF NEEDED. sPECIAL TOOLS NEEDED LIKE TO CENTER THE CLUTCH, i PULLED THE TRANSFER CASE AND TRANSMISSION MYSELF DID THE CLUTCH AND PUT IT BACK AGAIN. LIVING UNDER HIS ROOF 1/2 MIN WAGE AND NO FREE JOBS i WAS WHAT i MADE. gETTING IN THEIR AND DOING IT MY SELF WITH TIPS FROM THEM OR i WOULD NOT HAVE MY RIDE. tHE SOUPED UP TOY ATE TRANSMISSIONS FROM DRIVING TO FAST SOMETIMES WHERE i COULD BIG TIRES ON THE STREET BROKE THEM GOOD . i COULD NOT AFFORD A 5000 + BUILT ONE OF THEM SO i BOUGHT REBUILT ONES AND USED THEM. tHEN WHEN i BOUUGHT A USED 87 FULLSIZE bronco i STARTED DOING REAEARCH ON WHAT TO START DOING. i GOT 35" TIRES AND DOUND i EED gEARS FOR THAT TO NOT BE MAKING IT BREAK SO EASY IT MAKES IT THINK LIKE ITS ON THE TIRES THAT IT CAME WITH. i HAD UNITRAX GEAR SHOP THEN PUT 4-56GEARS WITH RATCHET LOCKERS ON THEM. i WAS SHOPING FOR A LIFT KIT i WAS LOOKING AT RANCHO KITS WITH LONG RADIUS ARMS. THEN LOOKED AT MY FRIENDS RACE SHOP ONES. i WAS IMPRESSED WITH THEM CUT AND TURNED BEAMSNO DROP BRACKET HANGING DOWN cHROMOLLY LONG RADIUS ARMS! nO BUSHING MOUNTS TO THE BRACKETS ON THE FRAME. bIG STAINLESS STEEL hEIM JOINTS WITH BIG ER PLATES FROME EACH SIDE OF THE FRAME CUEIN STRONGER TALLER SHOCK MOUNTS AND THE LOWER ONES WERE LONGERON A WEB GUSSET ON THE BOTTOM OF THE ARM i SEE TO GIVE MORE TRAVEL WITH LONGER SHOCKS ARE NEEDED, wHEN i HAD ONLE 2 INSTESD OF 2 WAITING FOR RACE RUBNNERS. the TAB TRARTED TO FAIL i ASKED THEM WHAT IF i WENT WITH ONE A BIT BIGGER INSTEAD OF TWO WITH A TAB ON EACH SIDE TO MOUNT BTOO? sEEMED LIKE AN EASY FIX BUT ONLY ONE? yHEY SAID WAY BETTER SO i LOKED UP WHERE A GOOD MAKEER OF SHOCKS i THOUGHT WAS MAYBE THE BEST. i STOPED AT A SMALL SHOP IN GARDEN GROVE AND AN NICE MAN CSME OUT AND LOOKED AT MY SUSPENTION , hE SIAD IT LOOKED GREAT WOULD WORKN WELL JUST GO TO A SCALE AMD WEIGH IT SEOERATELY FRONT AND RAEAR WITH WHAT i THOUGHT i WOULD CARRY IN IT. i DID YTHIS AT A METAL SALES PLACE i USED TO BUY METAL PUTTTING ELEVATOR RAILS AND SHEAVES ETC.. oN THE STEEL BUILDING FRAMES THE iron WORKERS STOOD IN PLACE LIKE A CAGE TIED TOGETHER. tOK THEM BACKNTO HIM ADDED A BIT FOR STUFF i WOULD LIKELY TAKE. oRDED THEM FROM HIM a MAN NAMED Brett and when ready would come back for themThat did and bolted them up and happy to see the frame to frame shock tower in the back a bit fowrward but they still are almost straight up no need to go up in side like this and tub in the body to a wtructure ore cage to mount them. Taking up space in the interior of the bronco I did not want to. With all I carry when on q trip vacation stuff Guns and more plus I had bought stereo equipment just good stuff based on RMS A off road Bronco can be loud but it cn be nice an comfortable too with a loud clean sound big seats to get far to the place you go
