- Chilled ride up at Glentress see's me coming off the bike with what looks like a front wheel wash out.
All happened so fast, I couldn't even recover it.
Pleased to say that the Troylee Stage helmet prevented what could of been a severe accident. Helmet took a massive impact and was written off doing it's job.
Dislocated and fractured shoulder with a few bumps and bruises.
Massive thanks to Andy at Glentress MTB centre for helping me with my bike, kit and car.
Final thanks to the wife and in-laws for driving through the night to rescue me and arranging the extraction of my self, bike and car back to England all on the same day.
I dislocated my shoulder on a rid eback in febuary, after some other injuries. I was sat in a&e for 6 hours after getting xrayed, when it popped in by itself. Since ive learnt how to get it back in myself, which is a good thing to know. Good luck on your recovery man. Hope it doesnt get you off the bike for too long
I can cope with broken fingers, ribs, and wrist, but this has been the worst mentally.
I'm getting there now, though, 4 weeks in and have almost 50% movement back. Can't wait to get on the bike again. 🙌
Wow, That looks incredibly painful! Hope you recover fast
Pain was unreal mate, slowly getting there now though.
All the best bro💚
Thanks mate.
Wounding mate you looked on it and one bit of mud at the end just nipped the front. Hope ya areet soon. Ya sound pretty local to me, giz a shout when ya back riding and I’ll show you more of the Golfie!
Thanks mate, slowly getting there now. 👍
Damn that’s a bummer, hope you’re okay and get back on the bike soon.
Thanks mate, slow and steady for now.
I’ve done that sort of thing in a deep rut a few times over the years!
Just caught me off guard so quickly.
Honking mate, hope it feels better soon & you recover rapid.
Thanks for the support. 💪
oof, hard hit mate, worst timing too with start of better riding! hope it's a quick recovery
Thanks mate.
Exactly the same reaction i had, the arm hanging down brings back bad memories! I came off in end of feb and broke my wrist, im back to some gravel riding now, hoping to get more mtb in the next couple of weeks. Its been 2months since my surgery, was baerly able to go downhill on any stony surface a few weeks ago, but now its ok, but not ready for big hits yet. Have they told you a rough time? the 6 weeks i was told, 100% wasn't long enough!
I'm looking at up to 12 weeks but am waiting for a review from the fracture clinic. I'm in no rush to get back on the bike. I just need to recover for now. Then, like you've said, start off slowly and build back up into it.
Heal up fella ❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹 Came off at BPW last year: trashed my helmet, bust my shoulder, fractured 8 ribs, popped and bruised my lung. Can’t remember a thing! I’m fine now 😊 Anyway, onward and upward. Heal and get back on, this time even stronger 🎉🎉🎉
Bloody hell, that sounds brutal. Thanks for the support.
How did you loose traction there? Did you get stuck in a rut?? Seemed like it wasn’t even on a turn
It happened that fast it's unknown. Just ran out of luck and talent that day.
Ouch man did you not feel like trying that Mel Gibson lethal weapon thing of slamming it back in place ? 😉 tarland 2 got me a fractured heel and elbow my last visit bent the forks . Best wishes man 👍
At the end of the clip, you see me rotate my arm. That was my only attempt. Pain was too much.
@@Meant2BSent it looked savage hope you're healing well 👍🏻
Am 65 and two years ago broke ribs, forearm, and clavicle, totally lost my bottle
@volt8684 hope you get back on the horse man 👍🏻 what's the worst that can happen some time off work 😀
Oh man what a shitty thing to crash on when you were riding so well 😳 Heal up soon mate 👍
I know, can't believe my luck. 😂
Is the bike for sale..❤.that is a weird bit trail, dudes cutting out the corner and heading straight over have left a massive rut..watch out for it.
Bikes still good, bars and brakes give way as they should. I just got unlucky it happened so fast I couldn't react.
@Meant2BSent hope the shoulder heals quickly. It definitely gets exciting/painful quickly. At least you were at the bottom, not over the at mast side..
Absolutely horrible Marc😢 rest up and get better you will need an ebike when you get back to it, maybe not that though eh 😂
I was never going to bounce back off that one. Nature won today.
@Meant2BSent couldn't put it better, plenty time to look at shiny new bikes now though lol
You stopped just when it got interesting
🤣 as soon as I knew my shoulder was out, that was my cue to gather my thoughts and workout what I was to do.
