  • In honor of Memorial Day, I spent a rainy-sunny afternoon at our veteran's cemetery and played for my family and those who have gone before us in service. I love that you can hear the nearby red-winged blackbirds singing a few times in this video! Blackbird truly has spoken!
Wikipedia writes, "Morning Has Broken" was written by Eleanor Farjeon and published in 1931, then set to a traditional Scottish Gaelic tune, "Bunessan." (long before Cat Stevens made it popular. ;) )
Si Bheag Si Mhor was written by Turlough O'Carolan.
In grateful remembrance of our servicemen and servicewomen!

What a truly beautiful program of honor! Every note of the melody on the harp, every photo view inserted into the music was perfect, the veteran names shown thro’ the harp strings was stunningly moving, and the Robin seen at the end. Thank you so much for sharing this gift of beauty!!!💕❤️❤️❤️

Beautiful. A "different" way to honour a special person, amd so many others we owe our freedoms to.

Rachel, what a beautiful tribute to your grandfather. Thank you for adding your unique vibration to UA-cam... and the world. We'd all be impoverished without it. ❤

Thank you for choosing this song, one of his favorites, to remember your WW2 veteran grandfather. You have done such an incredible, beautiful job with your playing, the video, and with the honor this pays to a very special man..
