looking back at this now I like how Vinny's expression when meeting Milo for the first time goes consecutively from contempt, to subtle irritation, to semi-sarcastic enthusiasm until finally parting with what might be a joke.
at first he's not happy that there's a 'lost greenhorn' heading into the sub. He's further annoyed at Milo's reaction to picking up one of his dynamite sticks like he thinks he's about to get judged for it, but it slowly changes to enthusiasm when Milo, rather than staying scared just politely asks what else Vinny's carrying.
Vinny found his boom after all, it's what he do for this film and he can appreciate someone being more curious than scared.

Such a shame that this was killed by critics for not being a "traditional" Disney movie. I don't know if anyone has ever heard of Barotrauma, but I just got into it with my friends recently and immediately thought about recreating the Ulysses in it, because BT has a sub editor where you can design and wire up your own custom submarines. I've spent more of my playtime in the editor than actually playing the game lol.
It also has steam workshop support so people can share their sub designs. Someone has already made their own version of the ulysses, and it looks great, they did a good job with the command sphere in the front, and it even has a smaller shuttle like one of the mini-subs that can dock with it.
This workshop design is great, but has a few flaws. I want to make my own version!
Also the game has a fairly complex electrical system, and has basic components for learning simple logic gates. It's very fun.

    • @skywardsoul1178

Most of my game time has been with the bois in that Ulysses from the workshop. It's not perfect but it's been pretty solid. I'd like to get into making designs in it (as with several games), but I just don't have the time or energy to invest. I've instead been making a fairly detailed model of the Ulysses to print and hand finish into a half meter long desk model with lighting.
