@@BsianTech You are still the only one with a review of that laptop. I wanted to know how the performance was so i could buy it for my company, but i ended up buying the zbook g6
@@cyranoburleson4240 All well and good I am trying to find contact for HP so I can get HP products in the future to review the workstations as well as that would usually cover manufacturers of computers most large business would use.
Hi alaskajoel, thanks for the feedback. Getting encouragement like yours is really nice to hear to keep doing these late nights =). I have one more video in the works for the 7740 and will be up on friday.
Thank you for this review. Almost no youtubers cover these, or not in great details. I really like how you showcase the unit very well, with super high quality video.
Thank you very much Michael Pujos, welcome to my videos. I understand this market doesn't hold a very high percentage so I can for sure understand why most youtubers won't cover these type of computers. Thank you for the feedback, I am still working my skills to making better quality videos and reviews for you all. Hope you get to enjoy my other videos too.
Thank you, BsianDad for an excellent overview of the features of the 7740. The level of detail and showing the internal component layout is especially appreciated. Covering the heat dissipation and cooling thoroughly is something that we don't see often enough in laptop and mobile workstation reviews. The single most important point you made was that Dell possesses the technology to incorporate a truly first-rate trackpad and did so on the Precision 5000 series. I'd still be curious to know why they have not added such a trackpad. I'll continue to watch your videos and have subscribed.
Hi Tzad cannot be left blank and welcome to my videos. I try my best to answer some important questions that I would ask myself as I couldn't find the information as well so decided to create a channel to try cover the uncommon yet I find important topics owning a particular laptop.Yes I do hope they put a better trackpad in next Precision 7000 series. My thoughts are they waiting for feedback from customers or issues if the other trackpad style are good? Are you in the market for this computer? If so what would you be using it mainly for? Also thank you for the feedback and support on the sub. Hopefully my videos will be entertaining and informative on our journey.
I really enjoyed the review as I'm looking for a reliable 17 inch workstation for the next 5-10 years. I considered the P73 but heard about the thermal throttling. Now I'm considering Dell, this 7740 looks good. I'm going a lot of 3D animation, rendering, 300+ chrome tabs, electronics, PCB design, Fusion 360. I have a look at your recent reviews.
Hi BsianDad, Great reviews on both 5540 and 7740. Great to see an Aussie review as the first review video on these mean machines. How does the 7740 compare with 7540? Does the 7540 have anything less (which is not available in options) than 7740, apart from the size? Cheers
Hi rohit tekale, I have been trying to get my hands on the Precision 7540 so I can have a play with that as well and still working on it. There is a few option differences between the 7740 and the 7540 (besides the size and weight). First the 7740 has extra USB3.1 port at the rear so total USB3.1 port is three where as 7540 is only two USB3.1 ports. Second difference is the 7740 can house four PCIe SSD and the 7540 can only house max three PCIe SSD. Third difference is the discrete graphics option the 7540 can house the Quadro T1000/T2000 and max at RTX3000 where as the 7740 is RTX 3000/4000/5000. Lastly there is a HD screen option on the 7740 which the 7540 doesn't have. The 7540 laptop is like bridging between the Precision 5540 and the 7740. Hope that helps explain the differences. Thanks also for the feedback, its very encouraging to get good feedback =). Hope you get to enjoy my other videos too.
Very nice review of this workstation! Gives a good impression and also some questions: a) Is there a coil whine detectable (like the HP ZBook 17 G6 suffers from at this moment)? b) how long did you use this laptop to get better known with small bugs and habits, every laptop has c) can you provide us with a sound recording when the cpu/gpu are working full throttle (100%)? Why in heavens name does someone wants a 1600x900 17" display?? It's good to see that Dell sends in "normally" equipped workstations instead the Full Metal Jacket versions that often are reviewed by others.
Hi Offgridd, welcome to my videos. Unfortunately I have had to return the laptop back to Dell already so can't give you a sound recording of the fan noise anymore. I haven't played with much HP Zbooks and I am trying to get some HP contacts so I can do some reviews on HP products too. From what I remember I didn't hear much whine sounds from the 7740. I actually used the 7740 as my main computer for two weeks, it was really quite an effect traveling with it as my backpack was designed for 15" notebooks so had it sticking out of the zippers lol. I didn't have the computer exhibit any issues when I used it for two weeks worked flawlessly the unit I had so I was lucky. My only issue was the dock which I mention in the video as I didn't have the correct supported WD19DC dock. The other thing that come to mind that wasn't as nice to use was the trackpad, just found it pretty plain for a flagship laptop and didn't make me want to use it much. I also know one of my subscribers have played with the thermal paste to get much better results for thermal throttling which I don't advise unless you know what you are doing. As for the HD display some people would be after the TN panel for special reasons but as for resolution wise its not fantastic at all. Hoping one of my viewers or great subscribers who own this beast might be able to better answer your questions.
I managed to pick up a Preicison 7710 the other day used at a great deal! Mine has the 4k panel which is gorgeous from the factory, but I'd love to calibrate it after seeing the huge difference it made on yours after calibrating! This review was fantastic, I watched it completely through. I can't wait until these are in the price range on the used market as the 7710 I picked up, haha! A few years to go. Keep up the great work! :)
Great to hear you manage to pick up a great deal on the 7710 tyler5310. I have seen the 7710 and they still very good computers and yes the 7740 price new is one that can make you gasp. Do you do photo editing? Thanks for the wonderful feedback for my review =).
@@BsianTech I do a bit of photo editing, and the display is wonderful for it! As well as video editing. It's amazing to change the scaling to 125% and have so much real estate to work with on a 17"!
@@TylerStartz yes the 4k is fantastic for photo and video editing. As you have found out changing the scaling especially for video editing is fantastic for much needed screen real estate! I do the same thing but actually go further to 100% scaling for video, for photos I usually leave at 125%.
Thanks for a well-crafted review. I found this channel after bailing out of multiple extremely superficial "reviews" (imagine those are air quotes!) that are nothing more than advertising. I'm a computer engineer and really don't benefit from a video explaining that a 17" laptop has a 17" screen (I'm not exaggerating -- there's one out there for mobile workstations that is that shallow). Your video was objective in tone, detailed in coverage, and made with high production quality. For what it's worth, my only critique -- and this is tiny, and intended constructively -- is that you don't need to repeat the "please like and subscribe" mantra. Your work is good enough to stand on its own, and your target audience are knowledgeable enough to understand how UA-cam works. One or (at most) two such requests would be enough. And yes, I did both "like" and "subscribe". :) Again, thanks for this solid review. I'm looking forward to seeing your other content.
Hi Scott Courtney, welcome to my videos. I did find some frustration on some reviews of computers myself and couldn't find the information I wanted from other channels. Don't get me wrong a lot of channels still do wonderful job but I decided to just bite the bullet and record tests that I find more useful to myself and my own clients and I'm sure it would be helpful to others as well in the process. I do my best to try keep the video easy to understand for non-tech people while also keeping the interesting technical results. Thank you for your feedback and critique, I understand what you mean by the like and sub mantra, I'm personally not really into it as well but to try reach my main goal of 1k subs I have found from research it still needed to remind people to encourage them. I will take your critique on board and more than likely tone down that mantra once I hit that goal which is very soon =), yay. Don't worry I will continue to try improve the videos and better tests. If there is something you like to know I can try formulate a test for in the future reviews. Thank you for your support in the like and sub and I hope our journey together on future videos be entertaining and informative =). Have a safe and wonderful happy new years!
Great video. Very useful information, have watched it more that 4 times over time, now I am waiting to buy 7750. would be great if you can get your hands on it and review it. Thanks 👍
Hi Tarveez Ashraf, welcome to my videos and it's really good to hear you rewatched the video a number of times means it's really useful. The Dell Precision 7750 only just arrived last week to Australia and I have one on the way, hoping it arrives in my hands end of this week or start of next week.
Thanks Nick Hugg, it's always tempting to wait for the next one I think still another 6 months or so till the next refresh. From my experience since its 6 months its a matter of if you are in the need of it or not and what you are upgrading from. The next one sure will have performance bump but if you are working professional if your current computer is slow the 6 months wait in all the projects you doing in the 6 months you could have save a lot of time from this 7740, I would go for it if that makes sense.
Have a M6700, this may be my next upgrade laptop. Appreciate demoing the color calibration vs stock from Dell, and brightness, since I use Adobe products like you.. Thank you very much for the through review.
Ah the M series from Dell, those are rock solid computers. Expect the same for this since its really the M series just Dell decided to drop the M naming. If I manage to get my hands on another 7740 with a difference display type I will try create a colour profile to share it. It's always interesting to see how the different laptop display are calibrated from factory =). Thanks for the feedback seabreezeof, also if you find the 17" too big look at the Precision 7540 its just the 15" version of it.
Great review, I would also recommend reviewing other competitors like the Thinkpad p53 and the HP Zbook. There is also Boxx SLM 15. Alot of people are searchign for rare people like you that need workstation reviews.
I am trying to get the Lenovo range and waiting for them to arrive in Australia, we are a bit slow getting anything downunder. HP wise hard for me as I have no contacts for HP but will try, its a brand I haven't had good experience supporting but will work on it.
Heya, again great video! Gotta love the fact that you do these in depth reviews for mobile Workstations. Quick question regarding the battery life: how long do you think the battery will last in better battery mode, when you browse the web (several tabs open) while working in an word or excel document? And is the 50% brightness of this mode enough to work outside? Of course not in the bright sun, but in somewhat shady place.
Thanks very much TMT98, the mobile workstations are something I am very interested in myself as these are closer to what I would be using to do my own work :). As for your question about battery life of course this will depend a bit on screen variant you choose and which CPU and number of hard drives. My expectations for better battery life is expecting between 9.5-11hours 9.5hr for fully speced up version. As for 50% brightness the HD version of the display you will struggle a little in outside you need at it full brightness, for the FHD and UHD you will be fine at 50% brightness outside as their brightness value is higher much higher. Hope that helps.
I'm happy to have found your review on this workstation. I'm in the market to get a new 3D modeling workhorse and am working on a build, but it seems to be reaching past a cost I'm comfortable with. Hi Antonio, welcome to my videos and hope you enjoy them. So there are two suggestions considering what you have listed out. First I since you going for the Xeon, I would be keeping that 8 core for the 3D work for sure and seeing your at the base 16GB RAM already, the only thing you can do is lower the graphics to the RTX3000 but you will get a bit of hit in graphics wise but will save you a bit of cash. The other way is to go with the i9 version but really the error correction and stability for long term workhorse is worth the Xeon price. Another suggestion is to look into dropping to the Precision 7540, its the 15" version of the 7740. You can still get the same specs for processor and RAM but the graphics can only go to the RTX 3000 but that will save you a bit of money too and the cooling on it and design is very similar to the 7740. I hope that helps.
@@BsianTech I appreciate the advice. It does make sense that though costlier, is worth it for the performance. I did end up bumping up the RAM, for good measure, and look forward to a new laptop in the near future.
I'm looking for a 17inch workstation. I considered the Lenovo P73 but heard about dreadful thermal performance. Thanks for the great review I'm seriously considering Dell now. 7740 7750 maybe.

Just the information i was looking for as i am thinking of buying one of these. I have one question though. I want to use 4tb storage devices but you say the max size is 2tb. What will happen if i connect 4tb drives to this laptop. The laptop i am using now is way older (i7 3rd generation) and i have a few 4tb drives in it so surely this Dell should support more than 2tb???
Thank you for this review. I am using a gaming laptop for my video editing. I want to know how does it compare to precision tower in terms of performance price ratio. Appreciate your video
Interesting you say that I was walking and looking at my local electronic store which sells many laptops here and I was thinking the same thing. Why the colours so boring, they either gray or silver, then once in a while its white. Where is our christmas edition or special colour editions.
Is there any reasoning behind which physical drive location should have the OS installed? If so, can this be altered in bios? For some reason I've been unable to install the OS on a new 4TB M.2 PCIe 4x4 NVMe drive in the #4 slot (next to the battery). However, it seems to install fine in the #6 slot.
It's a bit late to ask but i found the second hand precision 7540 core i9 with rtx5000 at around 1000$. My question is that still worth considering for 2024 for engineering use?

Great videos Thank you. I am about to buy the DELL 7740 but I need your advice about the processor and graphics card. Is there a huge performance difference between the Nvidia RTX 5000 and RTX 4000 knowing the 1000 dollars price difference? And which is better or which one do you recommend I9 processor or the Xeon?. I am an architect working on programs such as 3dmax, Vray, AutoCAD, Maya, and my work demands photorealistic rendering and sometimes animations. Hope you hear from you soon. That will greatly help me decide.
Hi Agnomen Doppelganger, welcome to my videos. I will start off with the processor first. Both will be fine running the software you mention and really to break it down simply to you i9 vs Xeon is this i9 is quicker and Xeon is for reliability. As for how much quicker is the i9 vs Xeon I'm afraid I couldn't give you good % but my guess is 5-10%. Xeons have ability to run ECC RAM which is good for the software you run. Best way to describe this is i9 is your petrol car and the Xeon is your diesel truck. The petrol car is faster than the truck but when pulling heavy loads for long period of time it suffers, can have overheating (in case of i9 more thermal throttling as time goes on) where as diesel truck will be slower speed but be perfectly happy to pull heavy loads all year round. If your a working professional architect my suggestion is don't stuff around with the i9 put a little extra money go with the Xeon with the ECC RAM, you don't want crashing or random times rendering when your trying to hit deadlines. As for Graphics for the RTX5000 vs RTX4000 personally I think $1000 is too much if it was half the price that be better for the performance difference but really its a matter of budget on your end. In seriousness this video is great which does run through the benchmarks for the software you run which does have the RTX5000 and RTX 4000 comparisons in there, have a watch to see if you think its worth the $1000: ua-cam.com/video/2JmWrO2bcsQ/v-deo.html . My opinion is if its for work and my projects will be render quicker then that $1000 will quickly pay itself back in the time you save.

Hi Jeff star, thanks for the nice feedback. From what I am reading the all the FHD and UHD display plane options are using WVA. They don't have an IPS option for the 7740. From my understanding even the new Precision 7750 it is still WVA as well. Hope that helps.
Excellent review, Thank you for the best review of precision 7000 series, want to see 7540 review as I am planning to buy 7540. Thanks very much Kirti Singhal for the feedback. I have been doing my best to get my hands on the 7540 but haven't had luck on it yet. As for the RAM, more than likely it will work if it physically fits. Just be mindful if its 2x 16GB stick to make the 32GB. These computers prefer to work in dual sticks (Dual Channel).
I wish you showed what the laptop looked like once you powered it on and went through the setup process. I wanted to see how this laptop looked. This is a business laptop. I wanted to know if it loaded up like a regular laptop as if it was a home laptop. Dell told me the 7740 was the best laptop they sold
Hi Alisha Francis, sorry I didn’t film the setup process as the the setup process for this computer is the same as every other windows laptop setup process when receiving new. It’s standard Windows Professional out of box setup experience. In terms of raw power and performance the Precision 7740 is the best laptop Dell has to offer.
Best to find the price from Dell website directly in your country. Here in Australia the starting price for the lowest spec one is just above AU$4800 and can go all the way to AU$12,000 once speced out.
Great review! How is the build quality? I noticed during your port demonstration segment that slight press on the lid makes it wobble a bit. Is it by design or more of a flaw? For such a machine I'd really expect it to feel solid. Did you get that impression? Also, I'd highly appreciate if you can do the review of 7540.
Welcome to my videos impussybull. Wow I actually didn't notice that wobble till I rewatched the video myself, I am unsure if this is by design or flaw. In truth my thoughts are the top cover is so large that I pretty much expect it to have a little wobble, if it was the aluminum version of the top cover then it would be a little less wobble. Also this kind of wobble for me in my experience would think is a little safely margin when you put things on top of it or when you pack it away so it doesn't fully hard squish that could cause the screen to crack when it doesn't have any give. Build quality it's pretty typical Dell made to be taken apart to be very serviceable. The aluminium sides feel very solid though and nice texture to it. As for the Precision 7540 I have been trying to get my hands on one too, not as easy in the land of oz. Also thanks for the feedback.
Excellent review, Thank you for the best review of precision 7000 series, want to see 7540 review as I am planning to buy 7540. Also, I need your help while selecting the processor between core i7-9750H vs i7-9850H with vPro. It is worth giving $140 extra for vPro. Also which graphic should I choose Intel® UHD Graphics P630 or Radeon Pro WX 3200 w/4GB GDDR5.
Hi Punit Singhal, welcome to my videos. I am trying to get my hands on the 7540 myself as it is an interesting one since its specs are like between the 5540 and the 7740. It's closer to the 7740 just 15" and instead of the possible 4 hard drives it is only 3 hard drives in the 7540. So for vPro what it is for IT department to remotely manage the computer. If you are buying this computer personally and there isn't a IT department who does remote management of the computer then vPro won't be use, so its a matter of performance. The performance difference is quite small about 3-5% too small to really feel unless the work you takes long time to process then it will matter. My thoughts are save the $140 and put it into the graphics. So the Intel P630 is just the intergrated graphics which is basic graphics, where as the Radeon is a discrete graphics so be useful, this is where I would put the $140 into instead. I hope that helps you.

R U kidding? You can't provide that on a 17" workstation that weighs over 2.5 kg. What you request is provided at 14" size at most, AFAIK. Twist resistance at a 17" lever would require much-much thicker frames of the same materials or the necessity for a different material for a frame (the one much harder than the Al-Mg alloy currently used).
I've got an hp envy with 16 gb of ram and it lags when there is more than 16 browser tabs open. Will I have that issue with this one? Or will it never lag or have performance issues?

Welcome to my videos SwapPart, LLC. You have ordered quite a beast there! Yes you will see huge improvements in CPU speed my friend. What do you mostly use your computer for? I notice you there wasn't any discrete graphics in your configuration and interested to hear the applications for your computer.
@@BsianTech I chose the Radeon Pro WX 7130 for the graphics. Strange it wasn't on the build list. I'm an eBay seller and I develop my own software for my business. Nothing commercial, just for my personal use. I have a need for an Android app, and my 8 year old laptop with an AMD A8-4500 just isn't suited for it. I'm sure I could have made it work, but not worth the time and frustration. So, this will mostly be for app development. I chose the 4k display because one of the most frustrating aspects of working on my software has always been making them display correctly on a resolution which my old laptop display didn't support. I'm sure this is more powerful than I really need, but I keep things for years. 5 years from now this will likely still be considered fast.
@@BsianTech I've decided I'm going to make some changes since they haven't started it yet. I'm going to reduce the RAM to 8Gb, and switch the graphics to the Nvidia Quadro RTX 4000. Total price is about the same, but the graphics chip is way more powerful. My reasoning is that I can add RAM anytime, and for much less, but I can't change the graphics chip.
@@SwapPartLLC At first when reading your use and reply I was a bit effiey about going down to 8GB of RAM, I would normally tell people to do min 16GB for App development just because of the virtual space and run environment for it but you stated a very important point to get the better graphics which isn't up-gradable after. You have made a very smart choice my friend! Can't wait to hear your thoughts on this computer when it arrives for you.
@@BsianTech It's much cheaper to buy aftermarket RAM, so I'll most likely have an upgrade ready to go when it gets delivered. Thank you for your replies. I value your input. In the meantime, I was able to get the emulator from Android Studio to run on my current laptop, but it's very slow. I'll just play around with it until I get too frustrated.
Welcome to my videos Tien Nguyen, learning 3DSMax doesn't mean you need the newest laptop, any application you don't need to have the newest its a matter of balancing the budget you have to spend and the performance and features you require. Even with 3DSMax it does depends on how complex your models and renders are. The Precision 7740 is of course for the upper end of the market with a 17" display. If you on a tighter budget look into the the XPS15 they do well for 3DSMax.
Looks like the ad site which it goes through sometimes comes pop up on some adblocking plugins or AVs. Here is the other URL to it. s000.tinyupload.com/?file_id=08240784593713447766
Hi kiknav, welcome to my videos. I will email Dell to find out if it is indeed the ECC configuration can go up to 128GB. I couldn't spec up the xeon with more than 64GB of ECC RAM. I will get back to you @kiknav =).
Tardymo lol you are so right, pity I can’t edit it anymore :( thanks for bringing that spell check back up my bad. Nvidia. I wonder if they give me a slap...
Hi Mustafa Mülazımoğlu, you can play games on it but this computer was designed for other type of work in mind. The reason why people might say it can't play games is because it doesn't have a Geforce, what it could have instead is the Quadro graphics chip. Nvidia designed the Geforce to be quicker in games where as the Nvidia designed Quadro for large datasets and crunching numbers with error correction and also optimization with leading software companies for professional work. There is a big price difference jump between the Geforce and Quadro (Geforce being cheaper of course). If you are buying a laptop for gaming I would suggest other laptops which you can get cheaper that would have better performance in games then the high price tag of this laptop but to say this laptop can't game well it sure can just maybe for FPS/$ this isn't great in value. Hope this helps =).
The first and the only 7740 review on UA-cam, congratulations!

As an M6600 owner, I am very likely to upgrade to this in 2021. My mind is blown. Way to go, DELL!
Hi BsianDad - thanks for this in dept and awesome review. I loved it. Mine is coming.
Do you still have the color profile link up? can you check it?
Very detailed real world review. Awesome work.
Hi BsianDad,
Great reviews on both 5540 and 7740.
That's an actually very good review! Thanks!
Very nice review of this workstation! Gives a good impression and also some questions:
a) Is there a coil whine detectable (like the HP ZBook 17 G6 suffers from at this moment)?
b) how long did you use this laptop to get better known with small bugs and habits, every laptop has
c) can you provide us with a sound recording when the cpu/gpu are working full throttle (100%)?
Again, thanks for this solid review.

@@BsianTech waiting for this
Great review! Its just so tempting but I want to wait for a 10th gen one :)
@@BsianTech Oh thats very good to hear, Thanks alot for the huge effort as always
Great job!! This beast will be mine! :D
Always loved my Dell laptops. This with the last Ryzen cpu would be even more powerfull with better efficiency

What will happen if i connect 4tb drives to this laptop. The laptop i am using now is way older (i7 3rd generation) and i have a few 4tb drives in it so surely this Dell should support more than 2tb???
that was a great review. i was looking to get the Lenovo P73, now after watching the Precision 7740, i've no idea which one to get !

Could you upload the review of the Precision 7540 please???
When is the Covet coming back? Lots of independents prefer it rather than the large corporation industrial gray.
My question is that still worth considering for 2024 for engineering use?
if i buy this laptop for professional video editing like adobe after effects is it good idea or not

How do you make the font on the task bar larger? Very informative video.

@@BsianTech Great!! Thanks for the info, and I really appreciate all of your expertise in these super-detailed videos.
Excellent review, Thank you for the best review of precision 7000 series, want to see 7540 review as I am planning to buy 7540.
Also, I need your help, if I take 8GB, 1x8GB, DDR4 2666MHz Non-ECC Memory from Dell and further install 32GB another RAM strip from the open market then will 8GB+32GB RAM combination works or not, and what's your suggestion.
@@BsianTech Thank you
Great work, really like the in-depth look at the keyboard, trackpad, its size and feel.
thank you

@@BsianTech does it work like a home laptop? Or does this laptop look more like graphics business laptop?
This computer is design for working with serious powerful professional applications. So it’s a business computer or work at home computer.
very good review
Welcome Darar j to my videos. Thanks for feedback hope you get to enjoy my other videos as well.
Compared to 7730?
nice review, make more videos.
How much is the price for this laptop cause i can't find it in google?
Best to find the price from Dell website directly in your country. Here in Australia the starting price for the lowest spec one is just above AU$4800 and can go all the way to AU$12,000 once speced out.
@@BsianTech thanks for the reply. Imma subscribe man!
Windows professional workstation alway targets on engineers, love the old M6800.
What the hell did they do with the ENTER and # keys? It's like they were a single key, and someone sliced them horizontally.
Thank you 🙏
Excellent review, Thank you for the best review of precision 7000 series, want to see 7540 review as I am planning to buy 7540.
Hi BsianDad, Thank you for your excellent advice.

Hi what is the price in this model?
What about durability? Does it carry MIL STD-810G Standard?
R U kidding? You can't provide that on a 17" workstation that weighs over 2.5 kg. What you request is provided at 14" size at most, AFAIK. Twist resistance at a 17" lever would require much-much thicker frames of the same materials or the necessity for a different material for a frame (the one much harder than the Al-Mg alloy currently used).
I've got an hp envy with 16 gb of ram and it lags when there is more than 16 browser tabs open.
Will I have that issue with this one? Or will it never lag or have performance issues?
Hi Ian, my guess you are running Google Chrome? Browser tabs are usually memory hoggers and Chrome is especially bad at releasing memory back to the system even if you close a tab, you have to close the whole application. Do you get lag with firefox as well?
@@BsianTech thank you for your reply. Yes I do use Google Chrome, i will experiment with using Firefox more.
I still like the idea of having the most powerful laptop possible, and this seems to be it.
Do you have an affiliate link for Dell site?
www1.ap.dell.com/content/topics/topic.aspx/ap/topics/main/en/affiliate?c=au&l=en&cs=audhs1
I think I would rather get it from there than Amazon and I will use your link if you have one
@@ian9341 no problems, was trying to save you a bit of money. You can also try upgrading the RAM on your current computer to handle more tabs.
The Precision 7740 has been refreshed to Precision 7750 for 2020, you can check my review on my channel for that too. If you find the 17" too large go with the Precision 7550 its the 15" version of it which practically the same specs.
Unfortunately I don't have any affiliate link to Dell atm, I am working on that one and would suggest to purchase where you are comfortable and better price as well.
Can I play games on this laptop? Will the graphics good and stable? For example, in RDR2 or GTA5
Any thermal throttling???
There is a little thermal throttling from factory but one of my subscribers who has one of these laptops has comment on this video has reapply the thermal paste on the processor and was able to get this laptop to work at its stress level without thermal throttling.
@@BsianTech thank you 😊
Please share the link , from where I can buy this laptop
I would normally get these from directly the Dell website. Where I am from these Dell mobile workstations are usually purchased from Dell and don’t have retailers reselling them sorry.
I bought one of these earlier today for $3950+tax. I guess I did it backwards because I ordered one, then came looking for reviews.
My old laptop had an AMD A8 4500 which has a PassMark of 2,666. This CPU has a PassMark of 18,159. I can't even contemplate what that is going to be like.
Estimated delivery is March 18th. This will be the longest month of my life.

I'll just play around with it until I get too frustrated.
i learn 3dsmax, i should buy the newest laptop, right ?
Welcome to my videos Tien Nguyen, learning 3DSMax doesn't mean you need the newest laptop, any application you don't need to have the newest its a matter of balancing the budget you have to spend and the performance and features you require. Even with 3DSMax it does depends on how complex your models and renders are. The Precision 7740 is of course for the upper end of the market with a 17" display. If you on a tighter budget look into the the XPS15 they do well for 3DSMax.

Can ı play Pc games with this laptop?
Some stupied buggers says its not for pc games you can't 😠
DAMMM ARE SOO MANNY ABOUTH UPGRADE SSD AND RAM BUT NOT ONE ABOUTH THE GPU
