i think the AMX M4 54 went back to where it came from : with equipement, you can actually make the nerfed version have the same stats than the pre buffed version. So idk how it still got 50% or why it had 44% before
pre buffed amx had 2.1k base dpm, the correct version have 2.4k, the pre buff version also only have 60 mm of side armor so you couldn't angle at all or you will just get penned in the side
QB, it would be really interesting if you made a video about the history of over powered tanks, showing us a reply of when it was overpowered, and letting us know how well they perform nowadays. You could look at the T57 heavy like you mentioned, the Foch 155, the Kranvagn, Obj. 268v4, etc etc
Look up his "Before it was nerfed" videos. Granted, there aren't a lot of them (and mostly cover older tanks that were insanely OP like the Foch), but they do cover exactly what you suggest.

bullcrap, it armor was also significantly worse than it is now. Back then it had like 75 mm of armor, so every tier 5 tank and higher could pen it with regular rounds. Yes, it had a powerful gun and was fast, but it wasnt invincible hence making it more of a glass cannon especially in equal and higher tiered mms.

AMX M4 54 was pretty op with 560 laser. Let’s be real if you care about wins and marks you only load straight up gold ammo. After nerf is still alright, remained 56% winrate on my AMX same as pre nerf. Not the craziest nerf like how they butchered Kranvagn.
My win rate absolutely tanked in the AMX 54 after the nerf - got picked off so easy when I had to stop and aim for so long.. So I'm back on the 120mm again, thanks to this vid - Hope it'll improve my results ^^
I was grinding the AMX 65t when they announced the nerf and thought about dropping the line for a different HT, but seeing how it was still at the top for winrate and WN8 I decided to finish it. Just dropped down my list behind the S. Conqueror

T110e5 when first came out was OP AF... Object 263 when tier 10 was a troll joke to face. Foch 155 was OP back in time , I one clipped anyone in front of me... T30 when tier 10 was feasrome.. Batchat made you shit your pants, IS3... and many more tank were crasy strong 10-12 years ago. Today there is soo much powerfull tanks and gold spammer with premium better than techtree tanks, reward tanks are completely broken and so on... Thats why I run a T110e3, To spam gold right in face of the Chiefcrap and 279er. Trust me, its worth it :)
I think by far, the most overpowered tank was the 268 v4. Not only was it overpowered, it had nearly no frontal weakspots to pen and had insane mobility.

This tank was not toxic or overpowered. It simply keeps up with the meta. This nerf is terrible for clan / comp players, because this was the only reasonable substitute for a chieftain. Just one less tank to use in an already stale clan meta.
Tech Tree Heavy tanks, in terms of balance with each other, are in the best place they have been in ages. No one tank stands as the best and the win% difference between almost all of them (other then the worst two) is insignificant. Object 268 Version 4 and the Mino nerfs are next. It is just a matter of time.

I use 400 alpha gun on Tier 9 before buff and it was really nice, I didn't play when they buff it, cos i had that feeling they over did it, so will just wait for balance, so i don't miss that buffed power later on.

The last thing on the forums was posted today "[...} we have been hard at working compiling everything that's been said over the last few weeks and I know folks have been tapping their foot waiting. As I said a week ago, I do not want to jump the gun yet and give out details until everything is fleshed out.", yet the patch is set to come out in 2 days, so I don't really get what's up. They haven't said anything about delays, so either that comment is bull or they'll release the patch as is (or with very minor changes ) with the promise of "better things to come". In short, if the mm of your gun/shell is three times the armor thickness it will always penetrate. So a 122mm gun will always pen a 40mm plate, regardless of the angle. A 119mm will not (if it existed).

I used to play this game to death but this is exactly the kind of thing that made me stop playing altogether. I do not play this anymore, ever. Broken tank comes out, idiotically broken, fills the matchmaker, you have no chance while playing anything else, plus loading pay to win gold rounds. Gets nerfed, the peeps just move on to the next broken thing and so the cycle begins. Example is I loved the E100 Tier X German heavy and played it with my mate in a top tier matchup. We get destroyed by two 279e tanks literally driving out in the open and spamming HEAT and our turrets. No tactic or skill is needed anymore, get a broken tank and press 2, you win.
M4 54 way better 50b is hard af tank to play and sadly you get matched with tanks like maus or e100 or any other true heavy. Which means that in games where there are 2 heavys, your team has 50b and enemy team has maus.
Out of some 30,000 battles, I have less than 200 Tier 10 battles. Anything higher than tier 8 has little interest in me. I don't play enough, don't pay enough and don't stay up on the game to play effectively at those tiers. Tier 4-8 is where the fun is.
@@prich0382 E75 was pretty good when it came out, but now struggles unless you want to spend a fortune on gold ammo. I still have mine, but as I recall it is tier 9
i think it was almost the same before the buffs, but people just did no play it. in many ways it is worse now, than it was before the buffs. and of course, the 120mm is the way to go. the buffed version of it was just a small grace time for the 130mm, as WG wanted people to grind this tank and buy it. it was a masterful credit sink from the game. and now, as players are more used to the tank and actually have it, they play it. it perform better not because it is better than before the buffs, it is just played. no one really played it before.
If no one’s figured it out yet, wargaming rotates the best tanks at tier 10 cause they know people will spend money to grind a line to get a tank. Then when as many people get it as they want they need it and buff the next one, remember the kranvagn?

I'm totally unable to have a decent battle in M4 54. Lately, it gets killed in the first minutes. The weak spots are too known. Everyone just gets them nearly every time. There is no way I can angle this tank. It just needs to be hidden away not to receive incoming shells. But that makes it impossible to do much/any damage yourself. I truly can't see how this is the best tank in the game.
It's so funny what you are saying. Amx was good because there was at least one tech three tank to challange early and chifteain. And now it's better isn't it? They can just go through everyone
AMX was never a problem for Chief and 279e, they can pen it easily while AMX will struggle to play vs them. AMX was perfect farming machine, not competition for chief or 279
I would argue that WG overbuffing a tank when it is either new or few people have it is intentional. Encourage players to use gold and free xp to get the flavor of the month fast. Once they figure there is declining value in gold (which is mostly paid for with real money) conversions they nerf it. Just look at the last 8-10 years of their increasingly aggressive monetization strategies i.e. (cough recent 1.20.1) initial plan. That and/or they are incredibly incompetent at game balancing. Take your pick or mix of the two.

I remember the time when WoT was all about historical accuracy and they added Tiger II tank and the "secret documents" started to show up nerfing it to levels where ruZZian T-34 could fight it head-on. This is where the historical accuracy went south to anything historically able to beat any soviet tank. And after a while came out T-54 which was for some time called a pancake, since it was.. well... a unrealistically low profile pancake. Naturally, BeloruZZians told that it is like historical documents say. Naturally it was NOT. Nowdays WoT is just a "what if" fantasy game which doesn't hold on it's premise to stay factual, accurate.
It was competitive with 40kph, SConq gun handling, 2400 base hp, and 3100 effective DPM. Not OP, competitive. The turret armor is difficult to use (weakspots, and cannot turn to side without getting penned). The hull armor always has a large weakspot to standard rounds if your gun can see the enemy. Cannot sidescrape at all And the pen is one of the lowest. They nerfed the mobility and hp so that it would be on par with SConq, better front hull and better alpha in exchange for hull down, sidescrape, and DPM. Now they nerfed the crap out of this to make this barely better than Panzer 7. Why was it doing so well? In its best state this tank attracted the good players because it was enjoyable. I was at 5200 combined in its best state and couldn’t even 2 mark. They nerfed it and I still couldn’t 3 mark it. Shows how many super unicorns were playing it…
I am not sure why you are telling them they did a good job, this tank is worse right now then it used to be before it got buffed in the first place. What a joke.
Just kinda curious, like why do ppl on this game always point to the best tank based on WR ? I mean the website give us the WN8 which is the total accumulation of the tank performance based on the tank and not win/loose, cause like cmon, I played ten of thousand time on this game and u know win on this game is almost based on luck, 15/15 real player and rarely 1 or 3 ppl is enough to carry the match.
It feels worse than the pre original buff version, I played around 300 games in it before it got the original buffs. . The gun just doesn't want to behave at all. . The armour was never amazing tbh, It was only the speed and the great gun that made it good imo.
Is nobody gonna mention how SuperConq is kinda op? Leave AMX aside for a minute, lets compare a once-best-tier10 FV215b turret and that of the SuperConq, most notably *the only supposed weakpoint* on the tank that is not even a weakpoint anymore because leta have an op tank? Im seriously disgusted at WG for not doing anything about this for ages, not to mention the fact that SuerConq has great gun and armor combined with decent mobility for a heavy. I would really like to see your build for this tank in detail. I could take BIA, food consumable, and full accuracy build, and my aim circle would easily be 1.5x the size of yours, especially on the 120 mm. AMX M4 tanks have been so underwhelming for me with how bad their armor is and how inaccurate they are.

stupid frontal armour because they can't create balanced vehicles and balanced maps I gave up finally this year after many years of saying I would but there's no more love for me here and I never bothered to race thru the French heavy line as I knew that as soon as I got to tier 10 they'd nerf it. But this happened to me every time from the E5 on. I played exactly 2 games in the E5 and havent touched it since ( won both games did nothing useful in them seemed pointless)
so you say that : if the developers think that a tank is op then it really is and that is why they neef it? by that you also state that obj279e obj907 t95fv1 are also non op? because the developers havent change anything at them since they came out. were arties op so that they had to make changes to the HE ammo? arties where never strong they have never good armor, they are slow shooting, innaccurate, slow moving and have to be in a bg that is open to perform ALWAYS. KV2 was op? with the most unreliable gun in game and huge reload? even the type4-5 werent op. now a type stands infront of the obj279 e and can do shiet to them. no. the amx 54 was not op and the same stands for the amx51. they were tanks that good play well with an amateur so they nerfed it so you go pay for ammo, services for the mission completion and for crew skills. that is all about this game. a slot machine is way less random to win than in this game anymore.

because good players started to play it. That's why the WR seems higher than it actually is when average guy plays it.

OI-exp, an 100 ton tank that could go 40kmph and you could only pen it with gold and it fired a 150mm howitzer.

I would say its okay to use premium consumables, because you can grind the credits and buy at a 50% discount. Thats what I also do

If no one’s figured it out yet, wargaming rotates the best tanks at tier 10 cause they know people will spend money to grind a line to get a tank. Then when as many people get it as they want they need it and buff the next one, remember the kranvagn?

As an F2P player, this tank hasn't changed for me. I've always used the 120 mm because haha 270 mm pen cheap.

I'm totally unable to have a decent battle in M4 54. Lately, it gets killed in the first minutes. The weak spots are too known. Everyone just gets them nearly every time. There is no way I can angle this tank. It just needs to be hidden away not to receive incoming shells. But that makes it impossible to do much/any damage yourself. I truly can't see how this is the best tank in the game.
It's so funny what you are saying. Amx was good because there was at least one tech three tank to challange early and chifteain. And now it's better isn't it? They can just go through everyone
AMX was never a problem for Chief and 279e, they can pen it easily while AMX will struggle to play vs them. AMX was perfect farming machine, not competition for chief or 279

I would argue that WG overbuffing a tank when it is either new or few people have it is intentional. Encourage players to use gold and free xp to get the flavor of the month fast.
Once they figure there is declining value in gold (which is mostly paid for with real money) conversions they nerf it. Just look at the last 8-10 years of their increasingly aggressive monetization strategies i.e. (cough recent 1.20.1) initial plan.
That and/or they are incredibly incompetent at game balancing. Take your pick or mix of the two.

Talking of design, putting a quad flak on turret roof is a waste of both ammo and gun.
I remember the time when WoT was all about historical accuracy and they added Tiger II tank and the "secret documents" started to show up nerfing it to levels where ruZZian T-34 could fight it head-on. This is where the historical accuracy went south to anything historically able to beat any soviet tank.
And after a while came out T-54 which was for some time called a pancake, since it was.. well... a unrealistically low profile pancake. Naturally, BeloruZZians told that it is like historical documents say. Naturally it was NOT.
Nowdays WoT is just a "what if" fantasy game which doesn't hold on it's premise to stay factual, accurate.
It was competitive with 40kph, SConq gun handling, 2400 base hp, and 3100 effective DPM. Not OP, competitive. The turret armor is difficult to use (weakspots, and cannot turn to side without getting penned). The hull armor always has a large weakspot to standard rounds if your gun can see the enemy. Cannot sidescrape at all And the pen is one of the lowest. They nerfed the mobility and hp so that it would be on par with SConq, better front hull and better alpha in exchange for hull down, sidescrape, and DPM. Now they nerfed the crap out of this to make this barely better than Panzer 7. Why was it doing so well? In its best state this tank attracted the good players because it was enjoyable. I was at 5200 combined in its best state and couldn’t even 2 mark. They nerfed it and I still couldn’t 3 mark it. Shows how many super unicorns were playing it…

Just kinda curious, like why do ppl on this game always point to the best tank based on WR ? I mean the website give us the WN8 which is the total accumulation of the tank performance based on the tank and not win/loose, cause like cmon, I played ten of thousand time on this game and u know win on this game is almost based on luck, 15/15 real player and rarely 1 or 3 ppl is enough to carry the match.
Never saw a reason to use the 130mm....Always use the 120....Its far superior for gun handling, pen and reload.

It feels worse than the pre original buff version, I played around 300 games in it before it got the original buffs. . The gun just doesn't want to behave at all. . The armour was never amazing tbh, It was only the speed and the great gun that made it good imo.
When the crew 2.0 will kick in,this tank will start kicking people.

Leave AMX aside for a minute, lets compare a once-best-tier10 FV215b turret and that of the SuperConq, most notably *the only supposed weakpoint* on the tank that is not even a weakpoint anymore because leta have an op tank? Im seriously disgusted at WG for not doing anything about this for ages, not to mention the fact that SuerConq has great gun and armor combined with decent mobility for a heavy. When is that going to be talked about? Or is nobody ready for that conversation yet, maybe its just me

I would really like to see your build for this tank in detail. I could take BIA, food consumable, and full accuracy build, and my aim circle would easily be 1.5x the size of yours, especially on the 120 mm. AMX M4 tanks have been so underwhelming for me with how bad their armor is and how inaccurate they are.
yeah but will less speed (35 instead of 40), the tank is worse than before with the 120mm gun since it was touch by WG more than a year ago...

because they can't create balanced vehicles and balanced maps I gave up finally this year after many years of saying I would but there's no more love for me here and I never bothered to race thru the French heavy line as I knew that as soon as I got to tier 10 they'd nerf it. But this happened to me every time from the E5 on. I played exactly 2 games in the E5 and havent touched it since ( won both games did nothing useful in them seemed pointless)
so you say that : if the developers think that a tank is op then it really is and that is why they neef it? by that you also state that obj279e obj907 t95fv1 are also non op? because the developers havent change anything at them since they came out. were arties op so that they had to make changes to the HE ammo? arties where never strong they have never good armor, they are slow shooting, innaccurate, slow moving and have to be in a bg that is open to perform ALWAYS. KV2 was op? with the most unreliable gun in game and huge reload? even the type4-5 werent op. now a type stands infront of the obj279 e and can do shiet to them. no. the amx 54 was not op and the same stands for the amx51. they were tanks that good play well with an amateur so they nerfed it so you go pay for ammo, services for the mission completion and for crew skills. that is all about this game. a slot machine is way less random to win than in this game anymore.
