Yes, well, the island of Manhattan has more than two and a half times the population of the state of Vermont, crammed into less than half a percent of the area. They HAVE to stack things on top of each other, just to make everything fit.
@@seanthe100 it's not really surprising. I just find it fascinating. The city with the tallest building in Vermont is called Burlington and it literally faces the same river that NYC faces. It's such a massive contrast and I don't know what it is but there's something so fascinating about it; at least for me. Btw, the fact that it has 9 million people doesn't necessarily mean it needs to have so many skyscrapers. I'm from London, a city with a population just a little higher than NYC's, and we don't even come close to having as many skyscrapers as NYC.
@@yawbyss981 Hahaha te mamaste. Hello, I am Mexican, the truth very beautiful towers have you, the truth I congratulate you. Hopefully and in Mexico more buildings will begin to be made, because that is a sign of development.

As a person from Chicago, no one calls it the willis tower. We still call it sears. Only people out of Chicago do (goes for poeple out of cook County.)
As a kid the L-C tower was the tallest. Now you can barely see it behind all the newer giant buildings. Visited Nashville a lot from Paducah Ky in the 70’s.
Jerms Mason XDDDDDD the tallest one in mine is Federal Land Tower, 300+ meters. How can a tallest building in country be that short? Five floors!? hahahahaha your country is such a peasent unless you tell me proof on how “””””rich””””” your country is.
The Fly Ry I shit you not, the university near my house has a library that is taller than the first 6 buildings. And it's in a relatively small city (Amherst MA)
However we have cities with 100.000-500.000 population here in the states that have 20-30 floor towers.... That's unheard of in most of the world, as the highest building are usually located in the capital.
Let me tell ya, Atlanta is a lot bigger than everyone thinks it is and just Georgia in general. I've got a buddy from up north and he couldn't believe how fast it was growing. He thought all of the south was the same.
Bish9 Gaming - we have the best healthcare in the world. America created modern healthcare. We choose to keep our guns. It’s unfortunate but it’s necessary
you really don't... In order to get passable health care you have to shell out a good percentage of you're earnings. In order to receive operations you have to shell out a couple of grand ; it's free in the UK :). Yeah it's good but not very accessible establishing a flaw in your system as those who need it often can't afford unfortunately. As for the guns they serve no purpose and lead to the highest rate of gun crime worldwide. The fact that numerous shootings of innocent minors don't even get a mention of enforcing gun control demonstrates the somewhat sad and unreasonable obsession you guys seem to have with the things...
Erock Stoenescu Haha wow you really do live in a bubble of ignorant patriotism. The US's healthcare system is god awful and costs the earth compared with other healthcare systems around the world if you are anyone by the very rich
America has some really nice looking cities! Love the building density of New York City, and I love the gorgeous skylines of Chicago and Seattle. Great video!
yeah, i was surprised too. but we have a lot of oil and devon energy is one of the biggest oil companies here, so they have a bunch of towers in okc. also oklahoma city is a pretty big city, 605k ppl
LA and Houston both possess impressive supertall skyscrapers, while neither Boston nor Denver can say the same. I still like both Boston and Denver's skylines, but I just find LA and Houston's more impressive. But that's just my opinion (it's pretty hard to quantify and compare skylines), and I respect your opinion.
The sears/Willis Tower is technically the tallest it’s just that antenna on the World Trade Center shouldn’t count as part of the height. If it does the sears tower antenna should count and be the tallest.
BTW There's a difference between a spire and a antenna, A spire has floors while an antenna doesn't. Therefore, a Spire does count to a building height. So the "antenna" On the 1WTC is a Spire. Also, even if the antennas count on the Sear/Willis Tower, its still shorter then the 1WTC by a couple feet.
The "Batman Tower" name would be more appropriate to the John Hancock Center in Chicago. Black, 2 tall antennas, and a beautiful crown of lights which makes it look like Batman's eyes
At 9:46, I know it's now called Willis Tower but I still call it the Sears Tower and always will. I live near Chicago and I've been to the top of it many times. It held the record for the world's tallest building for 24 years. It still holds the record for the world's tallest steel structure.
Alvin G yeah I used to live in a suburb of it and I loved it. I also have been to Denver and Cleveland, Denver looks amazing with the mountains and Cleveland looks great with the lake next to it
An interesting side note on the Wells Fargo Center: Many people, even those who are Salt Lake City natives, think the Church Office Building is the tallest building. This is actually an inherent quirk of being built on a higher land elevation than most of the rest of the city. The Church Office Building is actually two feet shorter than the Wells Fargo Center at 420 feet.
D3F4LT 53TT1NG Yes, 420 is also a reference to the cannabis counterculture, although I don't think that's what the architects were going for when they built it. 😀😉
I live in Massachusetts and I love tall buildings so a few days ago I went to nyc but before that I went to Vermont for unrelated reasons and took a picture in front of that building for the lols

It's crazy how NJ has a taller building than that of Denver CO; however, it will always be overshadowed by NYC being right across the river. Only when NJ builds a building of over 1,000 feet, it then will get the recognition of their own.

@@Ricky911_ Yes, but London is 607 square miles while NYC is 302 square miles.

Shame about the shootings and healthcare...
Bish9 Gaming - we have the best healthcare in the world. America created modern healthcare. We choose to keep our guns. It’s unfortunate but it’s necessary
Huh? Our guns are "necessary"? ... for what?
you really don't...

San Francisco, yes. LA and Houston, no
LA and Houston both possess impressive supertall skyscrapers, while neither Boston nor Denver can say the same.

It towers over the Chicago skyline, which is saying something. CHICAGO-- That toddling town!
Towers aren't the same as buildings
@@Cookiesr4life spires dont have floors you moron

An interesting side note on the Wells Fargo Center:
Many people, even those who are Salt Lake City natives, think the Church Office Building is the tallest building. This is actually an inherent quirk of being built on a higher land elevation than most of the rest of the city. The Church Office Building is actually two feet shorter than the Wells Fargo Center at 420 feet.
