I did not expect to ever see Matt sing even one song without a guitar, let alone two, but I rate him going for it if it means he can concentrate on his vocals and making them better
It's great to see them as a quartet as they have always been, but dynamically it allows him to be more of a frontman when they add another guitarist, I feel it adds another element to the show which is great.
Interesting to see Matt without his guitar, and his vocal does improve when he can focus solely on singing.. Just hope though he isn't slowly losing his ability to sing& play at the same time as he ages
I think it was more because he could focus solely on that aspect, but all round his vocals throughout the show improved a lot since the last show I saw back in December, so it might actually be helping to mix it up at shows. Seeing them go from playing as a 4-piece at the show for the most part of the set and then playing as a 5-piece for some of the songs makes it even more interesting to see them live, and allowed him that freedom to interact more with the crowd as a frontman, so for those reasons I was quite surprised but happy with it. That's just my take on it though.
Oh shit dude... I really hope Matt doesn't put down the guitar... That doesn't look right to me at all lol I also like his performance with the guitar better. It's more of a fight to perform. It's got struggle and oomph. Idk man. I guess he did sound more "correct."
His vocals go up levels without a guitar it’s mad
all singers who play guitar when they sing without it their singing gets better cause they don't have to split their focus on 2 things
Exactly that!

@@HOLLOWxWAY Did he play the entire show like this?
@@brandonkdrummer No, he only played Omen and Don't Need You without the guitar, the rest of the set with it.

Matt should sing more often without playing, he is much more focused on his vocal performance 😃 but on the other hand, it doesn’t look right 😂

Who is the guitarist who played instead of Matt ?
No idea, he only played Omen and Don't Need You with them, Matt played all the other songs. My guess is maybe someone from their crew?
Guitar tech we could see him tuning guitars at the side of the stage
Mike Kingswood, was in Axewound with Matt
