Seeed songs are inspiring me to learn German...yes, I should get on that right now.
It's a beautiful language, although it might not seem so at first. But the way those Germans wield it, it's quite a thing :)

I wonder what english people like about us germans.. It's interesting because I for myself wouldn't count German as a outstandingly beautiful language. I don't think German's made to be sung in most cases, it's perfect for poems though imo :)
It's difficult to put a finger on it; it seems like a very complete language; it works amazingly with any literary form if you ask me, including song, but also in colloquial use, and formal useage, it's beautiful and very expressive. I'm not English, I'm Dutch, and one drawback about German I noticed is that it seems a bit less flexible than Dutch, for instance when it comes to incorporating original constructions or neologisms; this is very uncommon in German I found, while it is very common in Dutch.

I think German sounds just awkward in movie and/or book translations, german stopped evolving in complexity at some point, while English for example became a flexible language that allows to connect words and express things in a much more explaining way.. Don't know how to tell my thoughts, really, probably too stoned, haha

I think, too, that German sounds awkward in translations and colloquial speech. My theory is that the problem is that German was formalized by Luther. And that high-German, which works good for writing precisely with strict rules and a complex grammar and morphology is just inadequate for everyday use. In each region, people will speak a German influenced by their regional tongue, and then it works well. But speaking in clean formal German.. god, it feels so strange more often than not.
I found seeed when a teacher from germany visited us in sweden and made us translate "ding" in class xD

I'm actually in Berlin, for Cisco Live and heard one of the Audio/Visual techs playing this group. I had no idea who this was and I asked the gentleman who this group is? He told me and now, I'm a fan of German, reggae. This group is SUPER talented. The videos really allow the music to come to life even more. I do enjoy the mix of German/English language in the music.

Me too...I'm from Chicago area and am American, but love the hell out of Seeed. These guys have made me better appreciate dancehall and reggae in general, even though I've been a big fan of old school guys like Capleton, Anthony B, etc. for years.
