I've been diagnosed weeks ago (I'm 28) with a lifelong, physically painful inmune condition.
Although part of it is genetic, part of it is my fault for not listening my body.
I am not very worried about pain and death, but surely I will listen to my body from now on.
And will share the little knowledge of what life has taught me.
This video was a warm beam of light for me. Thank you, greetings from Scotland.

Watch the movie "Heal" by Kelly Noonan. It's a documentary about how people with chronic conditions and terminally ill patients managed to miraculously heal themselves. There are alternative healers, quantum physicists, biologists and other scientists who have discovered how consciousness manipulates our cells and environment according to what we think, feel and believe. I wanted to kill myself after I suddenly found a very scary debilitating disease made me completely dependent on others for most actions. I have been mostly bed ridden for almost two years, that movie gave me hope.

      Hola!
I hope you are doing well. I hear you, I have been on your situation. Worry is not the answer but having the great compassion to put yourself in first place and listen to your body is a sign of great growth. For many of us, even we are falling apart the last thing we is to stop and listen to our bodies. We are fortunate to be breathing and the same time getting wiser. Greetings from Chanhassen, Minnesota

As someone who grew up raised a Christian. Not necessarily by choice but through my adulthood after highschool I really fell out of religion. I was just tired of it's hypocrisies and the flaws it created in ppl from most of the world's major religions especially Christianity.
I have been somewhat an agnostic I believe the term is, still am but lately I have found great interest in Taoism. I'm jus in the baby steps of my journey learning the teachings and this is great insight. Helped a lot. Watched from beginning to the very end :)
I'm new to this but your videos are great you make it easier for me to understand and learn. Keep up the good work 🙏🏽

Years ago my father suggested I read a book by Deng Ming Dao called 'The Wandering Taoist'. I finally bought it last week along with two subsequent titles now conjoined into one book, 'Chronicles of the Tao'. I haven't read it yet. But today I stumbled across this video with Deng Ming Dao. I'm blown away by the pure reality of his words in this talk. I will be listening to this video again and again and may begin reading the book this evening. I thankyou both for...well...for talking about everything that was said here. 🙏

Súper exciting seeing Deng MingDao!His books had a direct influence on my path and in fact my very first attempts to practice some kind of Taoist meditation was by interpreting the technique from the Chronicles of Tao, and that had such an impact on my university-student dizzy mind that made me decide start the way to meet those sages in the Chinese mountains…
So much gratitude Shifu, sincerely ✨🙏❤️

I've been a self proclaimed student of Deng Ming Dao's since he wrote his first three books in the 80's with the Chronicles of Tao collection which gave the biographical account of Master Dao's teacher Kwan Saihung. These remain my favorite books of all time with one copy having gone all the way to India with a friend who was equally impressed with Master Dao's telling of the extraordinary life of Quan Saihung. After reading those books, I bought the Scholar Warrior and I refer back to that book regularly. Apart from the wisdom shared, the Northern Star Chi Kung exercise that Master Tao included in the book is alone a treasured pearl in it's own right. This alone has the power to permanently change ones life and add years of vitality and strength to ones mind and body. What George Thompson and Master Dao have done is to bring the possibility of re-formatting our thought process through the elimination of ego and pre-conceived perceptions of reality and what we would like it to be and exist in a balanced, peaceful existence through virtuous living.
    Thank you George.

This was such an amazing discussion! I remember watching George when he was just traveling to the Wudang Mountains to learn qigong. Daoism makes so much sense and I love how Deng Ming Dao broke down parts of the Tao te ching that have been rather mysterious to me. As a teacher I struggle in the public education system explaining the meaning of learning the content so we can take a test to go to the next thing and go to college and get a job, etc. etc. but I try to weave in Daoist nuggets of wisdom when I can. I hope this video gets millions of views!

As a teacher of 20 years I struggle with the educational system constantly. The system killed creativity. It’s all about passing a test and so many don’t pass no matter how much the teacher helps the student. There’s more to life than passing a test. Yet these students leave feeling as a failure. It breaks my heart every time.

Great conversation. I started my spiritual journey with Daoism, over the last 6 months or so have been diving deep into Buddhism.
I have found many of the core principles are the same. Nearly all of the cocpets that attracted me to Doaism I have found, in some form, in Buddhism. Even if we look at the definition of the Dao as movement, it falls perfectly in line with Buddhisms understand of constant change (impermanence).
I find that The Dao De Jing, The Zhangzi, Liezi's writing are all full of wisdom and insight. Reading them definitely gave me an intellectual understanding of what they meant but to actually live life by that understanding is hard. Take Zhuangzi's teaching that names are just the labels we give things not the true nature of the thing. I totally agree with that on an intellectual level but how do I gain that insight so I can live like that?
This is where Buddhism has really helped me. If we look at Sutras such as “The full Awareness of Breathing”, “Four Establishments of Mindfulness”, “The Diamond that Cuts Through Illusion Sutra” or “The Heart Sutra” (along with their commentaries) we can really see a road map on how to realize and gain our own insight into interbeing, interdependence, co-arising and the true nature of all things.
Just my take, but sometimes it seems Daoism puts the ideas out there, Buddhism gives us a path to gain our own insight into those ideas.
    Any thoughts?

    • @Chase_Istre
      @Chase_Istre 2 роки тому +2

I highly agree. Buddhism helped me majorly and for me it was kind of the opposite. I started deep in Buddhism and pick up pieces from Taoism that help my practice. But indeed so those sutras are awesome and useful. Master Sheng Yen’s book on his commentary on the heart sutra is quite helpful in many aspects.

Master describes perfectly the nature's cycle, but the problem in human being is their mind, the illusion of Self, so we need to practice until we synchronize againg with our true nature and whole Universe. "Practice" is always the Way, if not, all this, ends on useless philosophy. Blessings All

Bless George thank for opening up part of your life.it too has incouraged me to comment more than I have before.I think the reason for that it took me back to my Son's dream of being in the jungle and forests, and you did in away that he would have love he still says one day.he is only 36 so a life time awaits .
I believe there is all ways a re.turn .re is is all ways coming back to self. Karma will all ways be what goes in will always come out or return .life is a mystic energy. It grows with time like the energy life form the sun is the sun of the universe life rest and sleep as the sky gets dark the stars way beyond you may not all ways see the but they see you all lives nature has eyes and was and if you listen to the day and night air wild it gently. And be be wild but stay calm . a picked flower will only stay fresh 4 awhile if will whether and fade and the dry and crumble. Everything has is season. There is a reason.. That's why any word that start with en.it means end to me. That's why I say inner stand .other wise I justen I don't think I have heard I don't take it to understand ing as I am not under anything aparwhen I am under cover. When I sleep or cloth my self . only the roof that covers my family head. Love so please don't end what u are doing take it to a ripe old age and when the fruit falls if goes back to mother nature. Oh boy I never knew until I started making comments it started on sci- phsy on utube. I have not gone there for long time
I might just go back to see what science as to say catch u later. I am still in the middle of watching Master ding and yourself one love. Christina

Thanks for sharing Graham, I heard you mention your mental health journey. I would argue that there is such a thing as mental health. As we are all unique beings. Hance there is no such thing as normal. It's just that society likes to label. Just my , or my egos view.

The Way is the Way. My way is not the Way. The more I insist on my way the more I lose sight of the Way. The Way is inconstant; I crave constancy and stability. My craving creates chaos and harm.
