Haven’t been this excited for a fragrance in a while, in all honesty. Mugler as a brand it very close to my heart, the Thierry Mugler era shows from the earlier decades are so much fun and it was all so exciting. The brand as we now know it, is quite different, but has hints of the old era designs, especially with the H&M collaboration bringing back long gone TM pieces! They are definitely up to something new, they will definitely change direction - because they literally sold mainline pieces with the collaboration for a bit above H&M prices, that wouldn’t be sustainable unless they want to change. And this fragrance is another great sign. Thought to be long gone and the old A*Men had a resurrection. Exciting times for Mugler!

By the time I got into fragrances, Pure Malt and Pure Havane were discontinued but I did manage to get 2 ml decants of both. I enjoyed them both individually but layered together they were next level. Absolutely amazing when layered.

I LOVE INSURRECTION II WILD. I just got it in the mail a few days ago and I love it. In my opinion it doesn't smell cheap. And I have some pricey fragrances. Also Fragrance World Star Men Nebula is a good clone of Pure Malt. At least in my opinion.
Angel for women original is a timeless fragrance, back in the day i was afraid to wear it as a man, but fell in love with it and bought it for several relatives and friends who were ladies just to smell it, now i am not afraid to pull it off as my nose has developed. Cant wait to try both, thanks for the headsup.
I'm largely against clones but with how expensive pure malt is now, I highly recommend Fragrance World's Posh Malt. It's identical, but pumps off of the skin too.
For the price, it is 80€ for 50ml and 110€ for 100ml. (In France) For the ladies it is 85€ for 25ml, 120€ for 50ml, 170€ for 100ml, 145€ for the 100ml refill
My best friend and I used to sip ouzo and chat while relaxing after a meal or just any time we wanted to take it easy and sip a liqueur. Ouzo was typically our digestif. Sadly, he passed away from cancer in 2010. I still have wonderful memories, and that licorice/anise smell reminds me of him.

It is still on the Mugler USA website which is what I heard they were going to do with it, not discontinued, but not selling at retailers except for the official brand website who knows it might end up at discounters but I was looking around. There’s none nothing out there at discounters.

Prices are listed in EUR on their French web store. 100ml is 110€, which is about $120 USD. Not all the bad for EdP concentration in 2024. Considering how the prices for most other modern designers has gone. And I mean… Angel EdP is STILL over $150 for 100ml

Hey Sebastian, here’s my review of Angel Fantasm ‘for women’ taken from Fragrantica. I have a bottle of the Female targeted release and here’s my thoughts! Just waiting on the arrival of A*Men Fantasm now. I can’t believe I’m about to type this so get ready… FINALLY, an Angel that actually has a lot in common with the OG! That ‘Mugler’ Patchouli is back, that ‘Mugler’ punch in the nose is back! Surprised to say that I only get a touch of coconut when I spray this, definitely a good thing! This is what Angel Elixir should have been. I can definitely tell that this shares similarities with the OG Angel. I do believe that L’Oréal has listened to us die hard Mugler fans! The longevity is so much better than Angel Elixir too. Angel Fantasm will surprise a lot of people so I would definitely recommend you give it a chance. 💫 To summarise, this to me is a ‘sweeter’ take on the OG Angel, it has that unmistakable Mugler Patchouli running through it from top to base with a touch of coconut. It even leaves a ‘sheen’ after spraying, unlike Elixir 😂

Yes Yes Yes!!! A*men original was my signature scent for donky years and still one of my favourite. It was altimate beast mode fragrance back in days.. Not like past 10yrs batch. C'mon mugler!!!!!
I'm a huge fan of the Mugler A*Men line. In fact, I have 3 bottles of the Pure Havane, 2 bottles of the Pure Malt and 1 bottle of the Pure Tonka and 1 A*Men. Surprisingly, Pure Tonka is pricier than the others and Ultra Zest is an unreasonable asking price. I've found that of the Pure Malt and Pure Havane, the original formulation before they changed the bottom signature of the designer to the all caps mugler is more potent and better. Not saying the other one is bad in anyway but there is a noticeable difference. It's heavenly how it develops and radiates from your skin. I've never smelled the Ultra Zest but I did get Dua's Zest which is a clone of that and that smells really good and what I would imagine Ultra Zest smells like with the A*Men DNA in it. Went by some of the good reviews it had. This line never gets old for me and I'm surprised that such a classy fragrance was quite affordable at the time. It really was a masterpiece and I presume that after Mugler sold his eponymous fashion house and subsequently left the company in 2002, it wasn't ever the same. He left an indelible mark in the fragrance community and definitely in fashion.

I appreciate the heads-up on this one, but my zest for the A*Men lineup is pretty much zero after their taking a hiatus the past 5-years since their last release (not to mention the passing of Thierry Mugler), coupled with the fact I wasn't thrilled about the last 2-3 releases. As for Fantasm...I'm sensing it's basically the original A*Men, minus that bombastic tar note, replaced with medium strength chocolate accord...which is one of my least favorite notes in perfumer. Of course, I'll have to sample it while I'm out-and-about...but not really energizes about this one nor is it a blind-buy. Cheers.

I wonder how close this new women’s version will be to the tropical Angel Iced Star? It also has pineapple, coconut, vanilla, patchouli. Discontinued so I wonder if they just repackaged it in this new one?
Sadly, that Flinker I haven’t tried so I can’t comment. This has grown on me since shooting of the video, but my only complaint is it doesn’t project too much a little better than the men’s Fantasm .

I also love your alternatives, I have the FOMO & Neon Orange but it doesn't have the longevity of say Smokey Plum ( which is a beast ) for TF Plum Japonais which I own & love as well. Yes Christine Nagel did Hermès Eau de Rhubarb. I have and like B*Men. And I like rhubarb as a note. But I wouldn't put B*Men first. Once I get a hold of Pure Wood, I suspect that might displace B*Men on my top 5 list. And I actually consider B*Men a flanker in the A*Men line. Just with a funny name. It smells like it. ScentualObsessions has a good clone of Ultra Zest. I have Animale Animale as my A*Men substitute.
I year or two ago, if it turns out to be just another elixir-style woody amber, I think I would've thrown a hissy fit. 😂 Now I'm just glad to see another star-adorned bottle. Interestingly enough, the note listed in the mid is clary sage, but in the press photo, the leaves are clearly of the common officinalis variety. Anyone else? 🤔 Ps, great alternatives Sebastian!
Hi. Actually, B*men juice is transparent, not red. If you open the flask you will be able to see that the crystal in the inside bottle is completely red.
I made the mistake and said juice but was referring to the star being red and potentially featuring rhubarb as they are both red! I know the juice color is transparent as I've gone through probably 6 or 7 bottles since 2004! :)
All A*Men fragrances have been reformulated to death until they got discontinued. The fragcom will be better off getting over that brand and any other on the L'Oréal conglomerate.
The Amen line is what started it all for me and many others in becoming a collector..I got into it when I was a teenager and I still remember this woman worker in ULTA chasing me down and saying she loves the Angel Man fragrance. My absolute favorites will always be Pure Havane and Pure Malt..There are no tobacco/boozy fragrances out there that come close to them. They are magic in a bottle. I also really like Ultra Zest..After years of wanting one, I finally was able to get one and thought that would be the end of fragrance buying for me in the near future, Because all these new releases for Men are so freakin mediocre and then out of the blue news comes out about a new AMEN flanker?!?! I CANNOT WAIT! I just hope for a miracle that they do it justice and it can stand next to the other flankers in the series.

My Neon Orange got stronger from when I first was testing and wearing to recently. In fact smells a bit better too!!

Weak? No way, Havane, Tonka, Taste of fragrance, Bmen, Pure Leather was super strong and long lasting.

The Amen line is what started it all for me and many others in becoming a collector..I got into it when I was a teenager and I still remember this woman worker in ULTA chasing me down and saying she loves the Angel Man fragrance. My absolute favorites will always be Pure Havane and Pure Malt..There are no tobacco/boozy fragrances out there that come close to them. They are magic in a bottle. I also really like Ultra Zest..After years of wanting one, I finally was able to get one and thought that would be the end of fragrance buying for me in the near future, Because all these new releases for Men are so freakin mediocre and then out of the blue news comes out about a new AMEN flanker?!?! I CANNOT WAIT! I just hope for a miracle that they do it justice and it can stand next to the other flankers in the series.

How very delicate male fragility is when you cannot have Angel in the name of the perfume, you gotta change it to ‘A’ 😂
Or maybe you can put aside your eternally offended cancel-culture mentality and understand that this line has always been called "A* Men"
Most likely to avoid confusion and distinguish it from the original Angel fragrance that happened to be *FOR WOMEN* and was highly popular
Also the creator of A* Men (Thierry Mugler) was a gay bodybuilder...doesnt sound like "fragile masculinity" to me

I mean, Thierry Mugler was a gay man and that was his decision, so I don't understand your point.
