Well, it's a really good pair of sports headset with all the features you need, except the name! This is what a sports headset is supposed to sound like ideally! Someone needs to review it as a sports headset rather than comparing it to other Skullcandy models.
lol was that an extended version of saying "someone who actually works out should review these."? 🤣
Apparently you don't work out in places where you need to hear the outside world. There are other things than lifting weights.
These are really good earphones,it sounds good for its purpose if you turn it up, I also wish the speaker piece was a little smaller for it to fit better. But it's sound quality is really good and blows several of my other sets out of the water. They are good workable earphones and better than most and surely do not sound like cheapies, even considering their placement they sound rich and warm with good balancing and crispness.
I agree, I've never bought a Skullcandy product before, but bought these specifically because they didnt have the irritating silicone seals that A. tend to slide/pop out when they get sweaty and B. seal off way too much noise to be considered safe for outdoor use. This review is like giving a car a poor review because it doesn't float like a speedboat should.
I appreciate the honesty but I personally don't like having my ear canal sealed especially since I just need something like these for work, working out, and when I go back to school
I'm totally in agreement with you man. Do these sound as good as my Audio Technica over the ear headphones? Good God no! But for the intended purpose they are awesome!
@@scojo9321 hey, since it’s been four months since you commented. How have they held up for you? I’m considering buying these because I wanted the style of the original AirPods, but with hooks to keep it from falling out of my ears during exercise.
Idk I feel like it makes sense that workout earbuds don’t have a full seal. I like to be aware of my surroundings especially when working out.
That can come in handy at work too. Those would be perfect for my job. I´m a security guard.
So no use for music then, only good for speech based radio or podcasts
Hey everyone on Amazon it's listed at $45-$50. Literally half the price. I just copped and love em!
You have no idea how hard it is to find earbuds that have an open-air design and them having ear hooks
We always appreciate your honesty man!
Isn’t the sound quality specifically designed to be open? Didn’t they tell you they specifically wanted them to not isolate sound?
Skullcandy should really stick to their crusher series and put all their collective efforts into perfecting them. They really suck at making earbuds.
Imagine if they solely went full throttle with their crusher series and improved their build quality. Skullcandy would HANDS DOWN become the NO.1 company for bass heavy headphones.
Yeah, the Crusher line is definitely what keeps them going. No other headphones competes when it comes to that haptic feedback bass
Gamesky
Ikr. The haptic bass could literally detonate your skull lol, especially on the ANC ones. But Anyway, great vid as always man.
Have a great day ❤️
Abe I don't really agree about the statement that the earbuds suck, I feel like the sesh and Indy's are pretty good.
I have a feeling the open ear may not be for you but it may be something you hate or you love but i wouldnt say there not good for it im always out hiking often in the middle of no where and i find the passive listening from the open air is super nice and it still produces a nice sound. Its ment for the outdoors not siting inside if your siting inside you can do better i agree but for what it is i think its pretty darn good
I got them for Christmas. I actually like them
These are actually very good for trucking
That's y they named these PUSH ultra. You have to push for ultra sound
Your over all opinion in this review is understandable, however having permanent damage to a my ear canal and my place of work I find that these would work great for me, I again respect your view but I have to thank you for your detailed review
Major tip that makes these Push Ultras way more amazing, read through if normal rubber tips don't work for you.
I got these with the same kind of reaction, but I'm the kind of person that just CANNOT use normal rubber tips you'd see with Airpods Pro or other normal round rubber tips. On Amazon, there's plenty of these third party rubber tips (or more so covers with how much smaller the tip part is,) that you can just slip over the 1st gen Airpod design, or these, and they have a very small rubber tip that creates a good seal, but stays in. I think the extra silicone that covers not just the speaker tip is what keeps them, along with the hooks on the Push Ultras. These Push Ultras with those half rubber tip covers make these earbuds the best I've ever used in my life. It's worth that extra $5 or $10 or w/e for the rubber tips/covers on Amazon.
Looks nice a lot better looking then the first push
I REALLY hate in ear earbuds and ambient mode so these are my favorite earbuds, they just solve all of my extremely specific needs
I am a service HVAC tech and everything you said that was a negative is a plus for me. I want to hear my surroundings. I will mostly be using them for phone calls and occasionally listening to music while working. you sold me on these ear buds
I kinda like how the Push Ultra are more of a lifestyle product rather than an audio product
As some one with a pair you didn't give them justice
Watching this while having them on.
I am a skater so I bought them for that purpose.
But I also get the points you mentioned.
Either way there decent.
I think they wanted to be open and less intrusive like other in ears these days. It’s hard to find this design in the market and I think Skullcandy noticed this and hence these are here.
Man that sucks that you didn't like them, I think these are pretty good. I think Skullcandy just targeted a very small audience. These are for people that stay active and need to hear what's going on around like skateboarders or bikers. I use these when I go on a run outside and I can say I like them. The sound can be better but I think they do a alright job for an average consumer.
What sounds better air pods or these?
I couldn’t physically fit them in my ears, and I never got the earhooks to work properly. Tho I like the neon green and they sounded good for the five minutes I could force them in, it just wouldn’t work, which is sad. I’ve got a good pair of sesh evos that I’ll stick with.
I've got these 10/7/21 from what I'm hearing, I should return em? Has not try em yet seen video on em first.
Thanks great review.. I need this .. I dont like noise canceling earbuds .. to far in my ear .. 👂🏾
I thought the sounds was fine during my run. I don't expect much bass from something that small, but I would rather know that a car is coming up behind me. For the main problem is that they never stayed in place especially if
I pressed any button. The loop barely held up to my ear. But the sound I thought was fine for its intended use and it's price of $50 on sale.
We appreciate your honesty but I'd like to have situational awareness. A key aspect of these headphones
I’m actually in the minority of people who strongly prefer the “open air” design over having those silicone tips, I bought the AirPod Pros and had to return them because they were always falling out my ear, where as the original AirPods always stayed in so I was excited for these. How closely would you compare these to the actual AirPods in terms of sound quality and fit?
I bought them without doing any research because they looked like they would fit better than all the others at best buy. I think they sound good at least compared to my old apple earphones. I just wanted good wired earbuds that don't break tbh
As always great honest review. Thank you Gamesky .
I got them for 50 dollars on Amazon for work. I think I will very much like them. I think on the zipper pull I'll put a carabiner so I can attach it to my belt loop
those ear buds might be whack, but that is prob one of the best cases ive seen so far
I think they are using those to test the waters. I feel like it's something they did to see what the response would be
100% accurate review! I bought these to try out for $79, when I saw them at Walmart. Wore them at the house and was not happy with the fit. Wore them that evening to the gym and the sound quality and fit is absolutely horrible. I returned them and got my money back 2 days later. No bass, no volume, if anything the eq makes the sound worse. Don’t waste ur time or money...
I wouldn't go that far; I think they are pretty solid overall. However because they are seriously deficient in bass; gym music, rock, hip hop electric all sound dead. That takes away everything these earbuds were designed for. Glad you got your money back. The Skullcandy dimes sound just as good and have thumping bass for only $20.00
1:27 Worst product they have in their lineup....well hopes dashed again, onto the next one... ☝️
I honestly don’t hate these earbuds, I like that usb c is on it.and the wireless charging is a welcome addition. I also generally like sport earbuds even though I don’t exercise much. They aren’t the best but they are decent (better battery than most of the other Skullcandy earbuds) the moldable war hooks are annoying, because it gets in the way when it’s time to put the earbuds inside the case. The sound (by design) is not bad just less loud and less bass heavy. I don’t hate them. But I do agree that the AirPod like design does hurt the experience on the earbuds.
Side note: these feel premium (compared to other Skullcandy earbuds)
Thank you for your honesty. Skull Candy has been slacking and riding the waves of previous sales. Keep up the great work 👍.
If skullcandy made truly wireless crusher earbuds...
You should review the new Push active earbuds if you haven't already.
Thanks for the honest and great review.
Man... I liked these
Just a thought, these would be great for people with smaller ear canals that have pain and other issues with normal earbuds.
You should compare all the new skiullcandy earbuds
Thank you for the review! Funny enough, even though your overall impression of the product was negative, the amount of detail in your review was still very helpful to me in informing me that I may actually like these.
I tend to prefer hearing my surroundings rather than getting sound isolation; however I do wonder about if the sound quality really does suffer that badly from that design choice. While I do consider myself a music lover, I don’t seem to be much of an audiophile, so maybe it’ll be acceptable for my taste.
Anyway, thanks again for the quality review!
@Brice Clark Thanks for the input! Another review from a smaller channel agreed with this review that the sound quality was really poor. But I’m wondering if their expectations are just calibrated to expect the type of sound from earphones that achieve a seal.
I ultimately ended up choosing the Soundcore Spirit X2 for my wireless workout earphones (not designed with a “hear-through” or “hear your surroundings” feature) because of price and generally favorable reviews
Which Skullcandy earbuds do you think that I should get?
So, ultimately, which out of all of these 3(the new line up) would u recommand?
Or if none, do you have any other recommandation?
@@OfficialGamesky hmm, I see, but aren't they more prone to falling out of your ear if you re going to the gym or running, for example?
Even though the sound may not be as good as more expensive ones, I'm getting a pair cause the cost is a fourth of the powerbeats on Apple's site. Evan at $60, that's still a lot for little plastic headphones in my opinion but the newer iPhones don't have many options.
For cycling/running, they are perfect!
They don't have to seal into your ear - ppl who do sports will know that.
They were made for SPORT, not for a hi-def studio listening!
How would you compare these to regular AirPods when it comes to sound?
Reminds me of the Plantronics 3200. I own them and actually like those buds because I get a good seal. Bass is boomy and water proof so I wear it in the shower lol.
To each his own... I hate my ears sealed while wearing earbuds, so i like these and i don't gotta pay 300 bucks.... The sound isn't that bad.
I got these to listen to podcasts while I work out. They don't suck. They're not for audiophiles. They're for working out, and so you can monitor the outside environment.
I'm a runner man. When I work out I need to hear the outside world. Otherwise I could get run over by a bus. That is nearly happened when I used isolating headphones. These are great for podcasts and running outdoors.
Best workout earbuds
1. Power beats pro (If you’re in the eco)
2. SoundPEATS True Wings
3. MPOW Flame Pro
Honestly i had hopes for these but i realize they wont block out any noise at the gym or anything
I have the 1st gen Skullcandy Indy
All plus, but only right earbud is usable by itself. Can't use the left on its it's own.
Recommend for $80 or less.
I'm excited for updated Indy Evo.
Can you recommend good earbuds that do permit hear everything around? I mean, something like original Airpods which I will never buy again, because they started failing just a month after warranty ended (shame on Apple).
Love you gamesky
If only Sony didn't ask so much for their earbuds I'd be throwing my money at them period.
A bit torn on this review. Unless I have a newer version of this product or something, I absolutely love these earbuds. The open air isn't a problem for me at all, in fact they fit in my ears so damn good I literally can't hear my roommate talking to me at a normal voice level right next to me in my kitchen. I actually wish they were more open. The quick charge is insane, the case is actually the best case I've had on earbuds, the waterproof is sick, the audio is fantastic, the wrap around is quite good, and agreed as you said the battery life is kinda insane. I think possibly this is because I'm a couple years late, but I'd pay 50 for these. I bought these brand new unopened on Facebook marketplace for $20. I'm pretty sure I got an insane deal.
I know you are comparing them based on your experience with Skullcandy products but it would be better if you compare them based on their purpose, that's mostly for sports. There are a lot of earphones and earbuds that are useless, uncomfortable to run with or do exercise. Also, I dont mind if they don't seal the sound cause if you're running, it's best if you listen what's happening outside but like you said that's based on the person's taste. I do appreciate that you said its base sound is poor, but then again a sporty perspective on it would be nice😅
Im curious, if i successfully 3d print a seal could that fix the sound quality. I think i will choose these over the Soul S
Regular Samsung or iPhone ear bud gels work fine enough, and they do fix the sound and bass just enough so that it's relatively manageable. Bigger ear bud gels should do the trick however.
To me Skullcandy is underrated I mean I have the crusher wireless and they bump so f***in’ hard
hey gamesky will a fiio m5 receive blutooth signal from my samsung tv and transmit to my wireless buds? If not which player does have those capabilitys, m9? Also I just got samsung buds+, I love my bass, did I get a decent product for the price range or would you recomend something else. Thanks man
Can you check the battery percentage of each earbud and the case on your phone?
I want to like these, had so much potential if only they had silicone ear tips. Yes they work and sound ok to me but need just a little bass so need that seal.
This is one of the few times I've seen you disappointed in a product.
Would you say their worth it for $20 ?
Great video as always, thanks for keeping it real with us 👍,,,, i used to love skullcandy products,,, they just break way to easy, I've bought several over the years and every time the left side fails every single time :-|,
Thanks for the honest review! This really just proves that Skullcandy has a lot of catching up to do in the truly wireless game. The push were their worst offering from their original lineup of truly wireless headphones and from what I’ve seen it seems as if they’ve made them worse.
Just wondering as I was going to buy some wireless earbuds and I looked at the skullkandy sesh and the sesh evo as they are so cheep and wanted to know weather it would be worth getting the evos for £60 or just the basic sesh for £40
Excellent review.
I saw on Skullcandy’s website that the Indy Fuel also has a wireless charging case. From the looks of it on their website, it looks like that’s the only difference between the Indy Evo and the Indy Fuel. Oh well. Skullcandy will get it right one day. 🤷🏼♂️
These may not be the best earbuds in the world, but I'm considering them. The only type of earbud that fits in my ears is the type without the tips. I also want something with an ear hook and something where I can hear things around me.
Logan Car Enthusiast I completely agree! I have the same problem. I like to hear a bit of my surroundings too and the best earbuds for my ears have that earpod/airpod style. I would just buy AirPods but the problem with them is the durability and sweat/water resistance. They fixed that on the AirPod Pros but changed the ear tips. I’m having such a hard time finding a good alternative.
high hopes destroyed in 8:10 min .... thanks for the review
I love my crushers, but during heavy workouts they get nasty wet. Sport earbuts without good Sound and bass can‘t be a solution 😕 So thanks again for your honest opinion. So glad i found your channel. Greetings from Austria 😃
Came to this video because mine either never work, and when they do, it's only for a few minutes
yessss thank u so much
I've been a die hard Skullcandy fan. Their branding is cool, I don't mind their logo, their sound quality of their headphones and wired earbuds were never below good, but now I feel like they need to just stay in their lane.
Tbh I font listen to music on my earbuds just podcast the cal quality on these are very good people hear me clear and likewise tbh I'm not a fan of the in ear buds anymore they all hurt my ear I love my push ultras
My iPhone is 7 did he will work with this thing?
Damn, thought this was a cool pair until I saw your review. Thanks as always 🙏🏽
Wish I saw this before I bought them ouch I can tell what you mean, I can return these right?
I respect your honesty. Subbed and Bell
I thought I liked mine after a few days of trying them out I seem to have some kind of burn type spots where the charging connectors are kinda painful
Are the skullcandy indy evos better than the sifi bomaker 2
The sound is really good idk what he's talking about
Aww, come on, man! I had high hopes for these! I can’t find anything that works for me! I can’t wear traditional earbuds(they’re uncomfortable and give me vertigo), and I can’t skate or ride my bike in over-ear headphones (I wear a helmet). Can you suggest a product for someone like me?!?
have you tried any of the bone conduction headphones? like the Aftershockz?
Gamesky not yet. I may have to try those as companies just don’t make good products for people like me. Is the sound on the Aftershockz any good? I’m really hoping I can find something. I’ve spent a lot of money searching, and even found some products that I love the sound but just can’t wear (liberty 2 pros for instance). Thanks for the advice!
Have you looked at the Powerbeats Pro? They've got the same earhook design, and I can't remember if they have a seal or not. They're definitely way more expensive but if nothing else is working then that might be your best bet
KR yeah, I tried those. There was a lot of good things about them but the were the most uncomfortable ones that I tried. It was something about the angle of those that my ears really didn’t like. I couldn’t even wear those for an hour unfortunately. Thanks for the suggestion though!
I've found that swapping the eartips out on uncomfortable earbuds tends to help quite a bit. I own earbuds that feel like they're slowly moving further into my head trying to suck my brain out through my ears. So I experiment and try out a bunch of eartips from other earbuds that I already own and have had a lot of success from that. I can still get a great seal without the discomfort that I get from the stock eartips. The soundcore liberty 2 pro is a comfortable earbud but after a while they make my ears sore so I tossed on a set of foam tips that I pulled out of the box of my Jbuds air icons by Jlab and my pro 2's feel so much better. Foam eartips may be the way you want to go in general because they create a good seal with pretty much non of the pressure or suction that causes headaches and probably your vertigo. The only problem that I've run into doing this with truly wireless earbuds is that the eartips can stick out more or be slightly bigger when applied to an earbud that it doesn't belong to making it to where the earbuds don't fit into it's charging case properly or close all the way. But fortunately I've always found a set that both fits and sits in it's case properly. I really hope this helps.
If u looking for an earbud for workouts and u into serious physical or active activities.. Pls do yourself a favor and get the sony Sp800n. It would be one of the best decisions you ever made on a product.. It's soo good...
if i could use it during lap swimming exercise, i would keep it. The sound is ok.
They are very good for just about everything including excellent sound; only drawback for me is the bass is underwhelming. I also have the Skullcandy dimes which sound just as good and have clear powerful bass for only $20.00
Well, If your are a person that works out in open spaces or like, tend to take long runs on the road or the mountain rather than working out in a gym, this would be ideal, you can even swim with them. You are not getting a top quiality sound, but a sturdy headset that can take a beating, while giving you some music, it's a niche product that would satisfy a specific sector, because even in the gym, there is always some kind of music playing on speakers that won't let you hear your earphones. So then again, if you want isolation and good quality sound, this is NOT for you, If you want something that lets your hear music on a basic and acceptable quality while also hearing your surrondings and that is very sturdy and durable, go for them. Real problem here might just be the marketing, since it is not clear by the branding the porpuse of these product and people who only wants sound quality will be very dissapointed.
I have no clue what all you guys are talking about but mine are working perfectly fine.
I bought the hash xt and love the sound but have to take them back because the right bud cuts out too easy. The signal is so weak if I have my phone in my left pocket the right bud cuts out which is insane if those things made it past their quality control with a defect like that.
Would you review the OnePlus bullets wireless z?
damn i just bought these for 15 dollars so much for the positives
Curious as to your take on the Sabbat x12 Ultra which are also open earbud type.
I am in the military & everything you said that was a down side is a complete plus to me. Especially since I need to hear my surroundings and I love how it's set up. This is great for my work life & working out.
Instablaster.
Same here. I was about to say something similar.
Right I love mine as well and the negatives are all a plus for me
dude sameeee all the negatives are just a plus to me honestly!
These are actually a great set for the gym, mobile gaming, movies and podcasts. Does not have a big bass profile, but that is a matter of personal choice. Noise isolation is more than adequate; I never want to be totally tuned out to my surroundings. Overall you get premium quality for a reasonable price.
