Signal skills are SO VERY important. Years ago I used a mirror to signal a military helicopter in a life and death situation in the Alaska wilderness ..It worked .. Skills like this video will rarely ever be used but knowing is life or death when hard times land. Well done! (sorry for the late post- crazy weekend here!)

thanks for the comment! yes, it is true that knowledge as you wrote about life or death is very important and valuable. Was this helicopter situation real or was it an exercise/training?? An interesting story.

@@akademiasurvivalowo-milita1157 100% real situation ....It was a pure miracle that my cell phone had a signal, very very weak signal, in my location. Reaching the cell phone tower completely killed the battery but the emergency text did get sent and was received by two of my friends. Hours later the army came looking for me. I used the mirror inside my camouflaged face paint container. They were already looking for me but couldn't locate me directly. A few years later a man died in nearly the same location as my emergency but for different reason, early in the winter. When they found him in the Spring his cell phone was open and they saw that he too tried to send emergency text messages but no one received them. He was just 19 years old..
