Hey man. Thanks for this amazing tutorial! Two things: 1- I am dealing with the same "This was created with a newer version of Adobe XD" problem posted by Ryan Anderson. Do you know what could have happened? Should I just open this file next month when the monthly update comes out and everything will be more up to date than the file itself? 2- What do you recommend if I decide to use this effect on a much larger project (like a 10, 15 or even more artboards website) so the client can feel the experience more realistically. Should I duplicate every single artboard and apply this effect on the duplicate or it can be done on a faster/easier/smarter way than deadling with twice the number of artboards? Thank you and please keep creating contents like this!
Hey Bruno, I've updated the download link and should now work with the latest version of Adobe XD! You can either use Master Components (so that duplicated objects and artboards can be updated by editing one asset) or create the menu on a separate artboard and link together with the Action set to 'Overlay' in Prototyping mode👍
Sweet! It's working perfectly now. Thanks for the tip! I haven't used this overlay action before. It's amazing! Thank you very much. The Master Component idea is good but this Overlay action is just sweet
Hi Dansky in this tutorial the menu is moving back and forth on one page. when there are many pages and if i want to open menu from any page, how can i auto animate that without changing the page? Do i have to duplicate each one of the page and prototype them separately or can it be done in a simpler way? I am stuck, not able to understand
Hey Kaukab! You can make the menu into a Component, assign the animations/functions etc. in Prototype mode, and then specifically in Prototype mode, copy/paste the menu on to other artboards - doing the copy/paste in Prototype mode will also copy any animations or properties assigned to that Component 😊
But what if I want the menu to do this on every page of a site? From an open menu to an icon only menu? Without making two copies of every art board? I mean, I can make the side bar a component, but then it won't push the other things out of the way. And I really need it to do that in the site I'm working on. Please help.
it's nice but I see you got yourself a white gap between the menu section and the artboard while sliding. which i don't see in the beggining when you've presented it first I'm guessing the arrangment it too far apart?
Followinfg this tutorial my yellow menu does not slide in it just appears and the screen is blacked out apart from that yellow box what am i doing worng here ? thank you
Great video, why not just use the overlay animation? I found a dedicated artboard easier to manage when making changes rather then working off an artboard, you know for those additional menu items you want to add.
It's smart, yes. as long as you keep it simple. the overlay may even slide from side to side but the whole artboard won't move along with it. in this tutorial example which I'll say you got plenty of vids about sliding screens, you can see that an overlay won't work. you need a second artboard with a different arrangement Moreover when the screen is dimmed as you get a menu overlay on top then it's even a bigger no for any sliding animations. since you don't want an antire rectangle moving across the screen with the menu section
Hey Mr. Dansky, I copy a side menu to the home menu, and when I move it to the edge of the home artboard it immediately goes to the pasteboard. Can someone help?
The rest of the canvas slides to the right when you are using auto animate on the navigation. I tried this but instead, the background fades away and reappears at the new location on the second artboard (instead of sliding right).... Why does mine fade away instead? super annoying thing.. please help (anyone)
to select specific item inside a group you can press ctrl+click on that item make sure you click on the item not space between

Can you make a vid how to create top menu that minimizes on scroll and pins on top?

Awesome! Web UI design with XD would be appreciated! :)
How to share this animation effect like a video with a millisecond duration to dribble or anywhere else we want to share?

pro tip dont use layers or naming conventions just lock and unlock things you need
Definitely use layers and naming-conventions 😂
