I listen to this prayer every day I talked to grandfather says when is it back memories it helps me everyday I listen to it thank you Play the song I am a North Cheyenne lady I love that song it helps me to my people thank you so much 🪶🪶🪶😘😘😘🎶🌲🌲🌲😍😍😍🌠❣️🎼🌄
I have traveled the path he speaks of. I have experienced what he speaks of. I am still going and will continue to the end of the path. There's no other way.
Joseph my Brother ....... When I touch my flute ...... I think of you...... and the ancestors ....... it grieves me that now we can no longer reciprocate a smile ... I hope you hear my song ..... sending up good smoke ...Wankan Tanka ki ci un ........🦊
The spoken words are from the prologue of a book I have read AT LEAST three times. The book is: Keep Going - The Art of Perseverance by Joseph M. Marshall III (a Lakota himself). Juxtaposing these inspirational words with Joseph Firecrow’s beautiful music is powerful.
A good friend asked Joseph why he was using crazy glue on something, if it was "traditional". He responded ,"if my ancestors had it they would of used it too." There's more wisdom in that than just about glue. I met him once and gifted him tobacco and met his family. He was kind humble but had a definite presence. He s with papa now.
Could you mourn a man you've never met. I went to his funeral with my girlfriend and Id only first heard his music on our journey there. I wish I had the honor of his acquaintance. Rest well with the creator, until we meet
Hello LadyGTarot Good morning. I hope my comment did not sound like a form of invasion of privacy. Your comment speaks of a wonderful woman with a beautiful heart that led me to comment. I don't normally write in the comments section but I think you deserve it. compliment. If you don't mind, can we be friends? Thank you God bless you….🌹🌹
Good morning my relatives. Respect and thanks to you for posting this vidio. This is in fact Joseph Fire Crow's music but the story teller is Joseph Marshall the third. The story is from his book, "The Lakota Way, stories and lessons for living". This exact recording can also be found on Joseph Marshalls CD which is a collection of six or so stories from his book and has the same title. If you get the chance to read the book or listen to the CD you won't regret it. My favorite story on the CD is "The Story of No Moccasins". May your day be blessed. Mitakuye Oyas'in
I've got this album on my Spotify, and he's speaking in the Cheyenne language but it is like I can hear elder Fire Crow's voice in the background in this version.

With a very sad and heavy heart I come to tell you that Mr. Joseph FireCrow has passed to take the journey home to meet his Relations in the after life. His wife Joanne Moore is sadden by this, as she lost her one true love and best friend. So if you wish to pay your respects, I'm sure it would please her. Safe trip Joseph, I'm sorry I didn't have a chance to see you before you left.
As much as it saddens me to read this, having loved this song by him so much, i bet he's playing his sweet music in the spirit world. Hope I get to meet and thank him over there for bringing this spirit comforting song to us.
@samsnames I think you forgot about one 'not' word somewhere in there. But just in case: Everyone who is educated and intelligent, would become an atheist.

I really needed this morning. I am feeling weak and completing my tasks was difficult, but I did them.
A good friend asked Joseph why he was using crazy glue on something, if it was "traditional". He responded ,"if my ancestors had it they would of used it too."
