I'll say this for French concept car designers and engineers; they're not afraid to think outside-the-box. (Or in the case of this particular vehicle, inside-the-box . . . .) Though I'm betting that no models or diecasts were ever made for this one; the basic structure makes it an easy scratch build project with embossed Evergreen styrene sheet. I think they had to use mime artists to do that - stuck in an invisible box - thing before they had actually put any windows in the car .... respect is due to Marcel Marceau .... war hero btw.
Funny how automotive history is filled with one-of-a-kind cars built because someone has a vision of their idea of the perfect car, rather than what the customers want. Build what people want and you’ll sell millions. Build what a “visionary” wants and it’ll be a tiny few.
Very cool and ahead of its time. Like a very large Aerostar but with soft cushion seating. I love it! Make it electric, add modern safety features and I'd say someone should try and revive it!
so there's this far-out prototype that no one viewing could ever forget... and it somehow disappears... hopefully it will someday show up in someone's garage.
best looking lemon i've seen
I'm getting 'A Clockwork Orange' in a Citroën Méhari vibes from this thing.

Oh dear. I think it disappeared because it got recycled into IKEA furniture. Thanks Retro! 🙂
An SM underneath! Incredible!
A weird looking car stuffed with mimes. It could only be more french if it came with a baguette and a lump of tasty cheese.

You left out a bottle of wine . . . .
You probably mean smelly cheese
The Citroen shed 😂😂
So the VW Thing but with more thought and style? I see this as an oven once the sun comes out.
Thank you for this!
" challenged everything we knew about transportation", and proved we had been right all along.
Sometimes cars are accidents 😮
Whoever ironed those cushions should get the sack immediately

Real hippie-style from the early 70s!
Not much of classic Citroen design here. Except for the covered rear wheels, just as on the DS!

Que doideira
How did they reconfigure seatbelt anchors? None in evidence! Maybe they were mimed! They were standard equipment in cars by this time.
Galinheiro com rodas.

Quizas hubiera tenido mas éxito si el diseñador se hubiera acordado de ponerle un volante...
The designer smoked too much weed.
I'm thinking maybe a little heavier drugs than that.
Not nearly enough 😂
The design for the cybertruck _is_ a rip-off. See also VW Type 181/182 ‘Thing’.
It had no engine, so the mimes pulled it with an invisible rope.
DHASHHDHHHAHa4
Arched roof? It looks flat to me,
Why is it saying ' innovative thinking? '
How about the AMC Gremlin or the Pacer?
I hate to disagree but I think you will find the Ford Thames was one of the first but not the only mini-van which was around in the early 60s
Who needs seatbelts?
High-tech clown car.
Just clown car!..
Worse, a car for mimes.
lmao
O desafio era fazer o carro mais feio possível
LOL
