Great video. Right place at the right time. Must have been either the same day or in the following few days that I saw 'Thunderbird' fly in to Southend Airport to clear customs before the flight home. Was very surprised to look up and see a B-17 that wasn't Sally B! We didn't see Doug Arnold's stuff very often back then. Didn't realise though that when she was sold to the Lone Star Flight Museum, the B-17 was owned by Stephen Grey of the Fighter Collection. She had apparently been sold by Doug Arnold to Stephen Grey in 1986.
Yes it was. I had originally only gone there to get pic`s of the returned Blenheim wreckage. After seeing it in the aviation magazines. And that was the time I started to do the 4 or so airshows, the Military vehicle rally, & a couple of museum visits each year.
