One problem with the box anchor is that it can completely flip over with enough force. As far as I can understand, as the front fins dig into the bottom, they act as a lever which lifts the back end up, causing the anchor to flip over and face backwards with the line underneath the anchor, leaving it no way to reset itself. From what I’ve seen, the tri-anchor doesn’t seem to have this problem because the front fins are smaller than the rear fins and cannot dig in as much as the rear, so the anchor won’t flip over.
