so theres something that ive noticed. nobody who actually worked with John or knew him cursed him or his name and those that did died. so Vigo, though he was quoting his son, either actively caught himself and was disgusted, was about to fly off the handle and caught himself, or was disappointed in himself for not properly teaching his son. maybe all three.

John Wicks impossible task = he created peace. As long as John lives, the high table can not take New York. That is why he's respected. His retirement gave the little people a chance to thrive. Chapter 4 should show John wiping the floor with every little boss and taking over their crew, at the end it should be John with 40,000 soldiers telling the High Table to fall back and re confirm the treaty. John wins and gets a new puppy

... I mean, it's a very entertaining and incredibly well made action movie... But in terms of writing? Super-assassin comes out of retirement to kill the literal puppy-killer and his entire organisation, and look how civilized and polite the whole 'killer for hire' society is, please ignore that John Wick used to work for puppy-killer McGee's father and helped elevate these organized criminals to the level where they felt comfortable breaking into a man's home and killing him and his dog basically for shits and giggles... And as puppy-killer senior states, "it's not what you did, it's who you did it too" - so apparently this is normal behavior for them.
@@sebastianrubin7476 At what point was anything in these movies supposed to be about the morality of any of it? John Wick isn't an agent of justice and it never made him out to be, it's a personal revenge story. Plenty of stories have protagonists who aren't good people but we root for them because they're compelling and seeing them take down their enemies, especially if said enemies are worse than them, is satisfying. Not every story has to be about justice or being morally "right." These movies aren't meant to be lessons to teach children.

That was the only way to save him... John knew he was going to shoot him. It's the only way to put Winston at the high take and become the new king.

I really envy John Wick for a reason I can't explain without writing a paragraph so bare with me here:
John Wick wasn't always the monster he was he was brought up to become a killer for hire an assasin but because of one woman, one girl, one love he changed his ways he decided: enough is enough and he called the quits there, career over and done with and thought he could be a family man. But when his wife passed away he found himself in the same pit of water he was in before only now he can feel the floor slowly opening up from under him dropping him down into sheer darkness and against all odds he climbs out, helped out by a dog a gift from his late wife, said dog becomes his best friend they do everything together. the dog is John's world and vise versa. But one day John finds himself back into the same pit this time with his dog and shortly after the pit opens his dog is murdered, his world obliterated, his soul crushed, again.
The reason I enjoy John Wicks story so much is because we all have those demons and we all are one or more worlds, one or more dogs, away from ending up in that same pit John is in.
It's really dark and really true but when you experience loss too much it can change you which is exactly what happened after his dog and his wife died.
Maybe I've got it all wrong, maybe the dog was the representation of Johns wife and when it is brutally murdered right in front of him, again, he snaps.

His wife was his redemption and after her death he felt lost sliding between redeemed and despair. The puppy she sent was his anchor into redemption and a reminder of the love to and from his wife. When that was violently taken away from him and you can see the animals dying act was to crawl over to John to die, that is what opened the door that started letting those demons out. If it would have been a quick kill and some kind of acknowledgement about the wrong, maybe he would have just got revenge and stopped. He ended up going further and the demons got freer. Now he got control again but now it is the marker. Same story more anger/demon escapes, eventually you can’t lock them all up anymore. Finally the last movie ended up with something arguably as bad the loss from death. Betrayal from that deep of a level just makes the desire for payback almost inevitable.

the thing that made this movie or john wick character soo great. there is no wasted or added dialogue. he comes off a quiet person, with few words and he gets his point across with those few words or silence. not like other movies similar to this. where the main guy just talks and talks about nothing.
just like his name sake monsters only come down from the mountains when others do something to them
