- The drama depicts the love story of Bai Feng Jiu and Dong Hua Di Jun, that spans 2000 years. Feng Jiu, the queen of Qing Qiu, is the only red nine-tailed fox in Qing Qiu and thus being pampered by everyone. She loves to cry and to throw tantrums but is also persistent and brave. One day, when Feng Jiu is in the mountains for cultivation, a beast attacks her. Luckily, the former Emperor of Heaven Dong Hua passes by at this moment and saves her. To pay the debt of gratitude, Feng Jiu follows Dong Hua who goes to fight the rebelling Demon Lord. Feng Jiu soon realizes that gratitude has turned into love, however, Dong Hua already forgot what love is. In order to keep her safe, Dong Hua sends Feng Jiu to the mortal realm, but the guardian he sends together with her unexpectedly dies. While trying to find the immortal fruit that can let her be reborn, Feng Jiu enters the temple of the ghost princess.

I was so satisfied when I saw Dong Hua's face when he learned the truth. He look in pain. Good for him! He wasn't nice to Fengjiu, just toying with her. Now I'm happy that he feels bad. He better try is hardest to fix everything!
To be fair to him he didn’t know she did all that for him. He’s been trying to protect her from Miao Luo who knows she’s his weakness. He’s not very good at communicating but I don’t think he’s been toying with her. He didn’t give her the pimpon fruit bc when he asked why she wanted the fruit she basically said it was to make cake for Yan Chiwu. He didn’t know how important the fruit was to her (she’s known to be very stubborn and likes cooking, like at the end when her uncle said she loved a specific plant for a dish that only grew in Buddha land and she tried to grow it in Qingqiu for 400 years).

I am sooo relieved Lian Song told Donghua the truth of previous events and how Xiaobai loves him. The dawning awareness on Donghua's face was good to see; he's got a lot to make up for. Shedding so much cultivation and going into Aranya's Dream with Fengjiu is a good start.
About time he realized how much she has helped and tried to help him in the past. Although he was already in love with her (I think) before he learned all of this.

Yan fault is his pure friendship with Feng, DH even knows they are not romantically involved, they are brother sister friends, but DH still wants Yan dead. We forget that DH was ruthless in his conquest of the universe, he killed mercilessly to bring peace, he can kill without conscience or sentiment if he is provoked.
Liansong exasperated ‘you fool’ sums up DH actions, the once supreme emperor who couldn’t be bested by anyone at anything gets done in by his own feelings.

I don’t know about y’all, but the whole episode I was just sobbing for Ye Qingti and Fengjiu’s promise to him. I miss him so much and it’s sad that he had to sacrifice himself. I’m glad Fengjiu is keeping her promise to him. If he doesn’t come back I’ll sob for ten years so he better come back. 😔

It was beautiful he has just learned the truth that she is THE ONE, the one he has been waiting for since the existence of time. He has been sad about his lost fox and troubled by his broken heart experience in the mortal realm, so far he as been flirting with Fen she eased his pain but he didn’t know why. But the truth finally sets him free, she is the answer to all that he is searching for. 31:48 Actor does a brilliant job of portraying emotions of blissful joy mixed with sadness. He caresses her, he smiles, he sees her with so much love, at that moment I think he had decided she is my future my everything, my wife, empress, mother of my children.

Feng Jiu has grow up alot because her first priority is to save the life of her friend the general Yi and she is welling evan to cast her pride and dignity away for the moment to have the fruit that can acomplish her mision. She is a true loyal friend for sure. Evan if the pain for Di Jun is still alive in her heart she has her first goal in mind very much alive. I am proud of Feng Jiu evolution.

Her sorrow and grief at being betrayed by Dong Hua is so palpable in this episode. Even if he had been in love with that twit (not that he is) he never should have gone back on his word to Feng Jiu. For her and her clan, your word is your honor and for someone who is so high up like him to just toy with her like that is devastating. It's worse for him to have promised it and broken the promise rather than if he had never promised in the first place.
Absolutely right, he did a terrible thing. Many people try to justify him with jealousy and the fact that she did not tell him the true reason why she needed this fruit, he was jealous, thought she wanted to bake cakes from this fruit for Yan, justify his act with jealousy and misunderstanding between them. But the fact is that this does not justify him, he made a promise to her and broke his word, he simply betrayed her trust. She had the right to do whatever she wanted with this prize, whether he liked it or not, she honestly won it and it belongs to her from the moment of victory.

I enjoy how diverse his characters are even between this version of Dijun and the Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms version not to mention all his mortal variations in the 2 series. . but also enjoy his different characters in other series like in Legend of Fu Yao.

To be honest I wasn't impressed by Dong Hua giving up his cultivation to save Feng Jiu. That is the least he should have done after what he pulled. She won fair and square after much dedication, then he dared turn around and give her peaches? Even if he thought her reasons for wanting the fruit were flimsy, it wasn't his decision to make. If he wanted her to help the Ji Heng chic, he should have just asked. Very annoying...

Altine Iman he needs to discharge 90 percent of his cultivation otherwise he cannot go inside and save Fengjiu. It’s a shame that out of jealousy he tricked Fengjiu and now got trap, and it’s another shame that at last Dong Hua learned already all Fengjiu’s sacrifices for him but instead he cannot comfort her.
On the other hand this problem will be like a blessing in disguise to Fengjiu Dong Hua will pursue her now sincerely.

Once Fengui won the competition, the pimpon fruit belonged to her. It was her decision what to do with it, no one else's. The fruit no longer belonged to Dong Hua, so he didn't have the right to give it to someone else. He essentially stole the pimpon fruit in order to give it to Ji Heng. He did not behave ethically. :\
The fruit itself didn't belong to Donghua in the first place, but Donghua's authority in the universe is supreme.

But if Donghua really cared for Fengjiu more than he did for himself, he would have taken the trouble to find out why she cared so much about getting the fruit. He didn't. He thought it was for her friend (I forgot his name, the demon lord). But just because he thought her reasons for wanting the fruit were frivolous, it didn't give him the moral right to take it from her. She won it fairly. He broke his word, and a god as important as him in that world should always keep his word, and think first of others, not himself. As you said, he seriously underestimated her. He is used to getting what he wants, and it seems it doesn't matter to him who he harms in getting it. He just gives more importance to his own desires rather than those of others. I find this to be a deep flaw in his character.

I agree, however, I believe he already has the fruit she needs to save her friend for her. I think he knows why she wants it and he is between jealousy of the man she wants to save because of his love for her. He is not fooled by what the nasty girl did he knows it was the red demon spirit as well as her own spirit wanting to get rid of Fen Jiu by any means.

Finally he figures it out how much she helped and suffer for him also loved him so much to endure all the pain he has done to her especially now. His face and eyes says it all:🥰 the woman in the mortal world who loves him and he loves, is his Xaio Bai all along and his fox he adores.
I see two Dong Hua characters before and after his Mortal reincarnation, before he didn't even acknowledge she existed but after he woke up he subconsciously knew it was FenJui that broke his heart and he kept chasing her not fully comprehending that he wants to feel that love again that his mortal self experienced. For 10 episodes he was flirting with her but Dream of Aranya is the turning point, everything comes full circle, the fox and his one true love it was all FengJui it was always her.
Dong Hua isn't your traditional hero, he is the guardian of the Universe, he had that position for so long that he has become numb hence why he doesn't put his personal desires ahead of his duty. Everyone hates on him for being too cold and not human enough, irony being when he acts human is when he does stupid stuff like being petty about the Pimpon fruit being jealous just because your girl talks to other boys as a god he was above all this but when he starts acting like one of us he becomes dumb.
But he is always in god mode, yes his woman is in pain he doesn’t rush to her like a typical impulsive hero he takes a few mins like a chess game contemplating his moves, he doesn’t lose his composure he radiates power and confidence. When he sheds 90% of his power it is well thought out, he accepts he could die, he discharges his duties to kunlan master for protecting the shield and fulfills his love's last wish, truly queen and country. If you have watched the full show you will realize this is his final transformation, accepting mortality understanding if you want love you must make sacrifices, before this he didn't think any woman or love was more important than the safety of the universe or even his own life.
I see the last 20 episodes as FengJui's journey because it is her character that needed to level up to his level of wisdom and match him to be his true Empress.

Even though I know how it works out, I can never stop being angry at Di Jun when he admits he was never going to give her the Pimpon fruit - without even asking why she wanted it so desperately. But I do love the justification when 3rd prince sets him straight.
I have watched this episode before, and I too get upset with Dong Hua.

The only good thing that came about when Dijun failed to give her the pimpon fruit is that they found out she was carrying Demon lord's qi (blood) in the dream. Ergo that's why Demon King was after Fengjiu.

It is unfair for Dong Hua to fullfill Jehing wish to ask for pimpon fruits. JiHing didn't work hard and doesn't deserved to have the fruit. She was not in competition. However, I understand why Dong Hua felt obligated to give her the fruit because of her father. He coudn't say no, so he has to. On the other hand, Princess Juige worked very hard for the fruit, and her hard work went to nothing. It seemed that Dong Hua has been unfair toward princess Juige since from the beginning. He always give her the cold shoulder. She is always the one running after his figure, not him. I agree he has saved her life many times, but compare to all the things and heart aches princess Juige has experienced toward Dong Hua is nothing. I felt sorry for princess Juige. She is a good person and compassionate, but she suffers a lot emotionally because of her love toward Dong Hua. All the pains and disappointments toward him, she has not given up. To all the women who wants Dong Hua's love, it is only princess Juige who risk her life protect him.
This is why I hate this episode. Yan should have confront her as her friend or take her away. Instead of being sad she should have been like Bai Quin when she was saving Mo Yea. Why can't Fengjiu have as much strength as her aunt. If Ye Qingti was the friend why not go with the whole "A life for a life".....at least Bai Quin did what ever she could for her master. She almost gave "a life for a life". Why can't she just take the "forget me" potion. That easy all pains.
Ji Heng wants to be with Dong Hua so badly, , but why didn’t see stay and fight the demon when she had the chance...instead she ran away.
Egnecia Stafford I think Dijun has a special reason for giving Ji Heng the fruit. He’s not stupid and clearly knows that Miao Yi is up to something and even invaded Ji Heng’s body, so he might be using the fruit to lure her out or find out the reason why she wants the fruit.
That didn't give him a reason to give the fruit to to that witch and everything dong hua do hurt her more and more he doesn't deserves a girl like her

So baby Fox Bai Gun was born after 7-8 weeks? After all Dragon Ye Hua was born a few days/weeks after surrogate Mom inhaled the golden lotus & left Kunlun.
@@Zeus-pl7uf please don't imagine them as normal animal. They are spirit animals, immortals... their pregnancy term are different from normal animals. You can not expect goddess and demons who live for hundred thousand of years would have only 8 weeks long of pregnancy. Even Ali is still count as toddlers when he is in fact already more than 300 years old.
Remember the time frame between FJ being a fairy maid until she got back mourning from mortal realm... it was more than 200 years and Ali didn't grow up much :-D.
Baiqian had left her baby for 300 years before Yehua met her again in the King East Sea's party, and Ali was still a toddler.
Dragon Yehua's birth was not elaborated well. It was a special case, that's one point...and the second point is, the time frame was cut. Her pregnancy was not described. So it was not really clear when she got pregnant and gave birth. It was only said that the baby was born when Mo Yuan died... however the pregnancy happened earlier for sure. But it was not declared how long time has passed between the time she visit Kunlun and the break of the war.

@@ellavinson5818Yes, it’s Yan. In the book, you get DH’s point of view sometimes. During the competition, he realized that he wanted to marry FJ. Unfortunately, he doesn’t get that Ji Heng is the problem. He thinks it’s Yan and wants to get rid of him without FJ knowing.

Not only is Ji Heng barefaced and asked for something she did nothing to get, but she also has the balls to ask Princess Feng Jiu aka Jiuge to stay away from Don Hua. In the beginning, she didn't love Dong Hua, and only wanted to be with and marry her Min Su; now that Min Su is dead (some love that was she got over it quick!) all of a sudden she's in love with Dong Hua and getting territorial and evil over him? Ji Heng needs to take a chill pill and realize that the man has zero interest in her!

He didn’t notice her bc they originally had no fate so they actually never had a chance to meet (eg Zhihe always thwarting their abilities to meet). He did see her once but that actually didn’t happen in the book (and also she was just a maid so probably it would’ve been really inappropriate for him to fall for her then). But bc of all she did for him, including sending half of her shadow to follow his shadow, the fates gave their shadow a chance at meeting and happiness but that got interrupted and their shadows had a tragic ending, so the fates gave that happy ending back to Fengjiu/Donghua so that‘s when they actually met. It’s kind of ironic that it’s Fengjiu’s obsession and actions that gave them a chance.

Lian Song 連宋 is a very kind person. Feng Jiu 鳳九 was rude to him a bit , but he didn't mind about it,on the contrary he worried for her just because she looked pale. And he persuaded Si Ming司命 to tell the truth, and urged Dong Hua東華 to rush to look for her.

hahahah..i do love LS so much..he is one of my best characters in both Eternal love and Eternal love of dream..but you have to admit he is a trouble maker..its cos of how he spoke about her that FJ was sorta rude to him.
I love dong hua, but he was being petty. If anything he could have give ji jeng half the fruit to fulfill her father's promise and to help heal the toxin. Dijun didnt give it to Feng jiu bc he was jealous she was going to use it to make treats for Yan. Unfortunately so many misunderstandings and mixups between these 2. Also feng jiu couldnt tell Dijun the real reason she wanted the fruit prob in fear he would figure out she was in the mortal realm with him
LACSIM1978 I am more sympathetic towards Dong hua actions. Maybe i am thinking too much but there is a reason they show he is an excellent chess player he is always thinking 10 steps ahead. Even if Dong hua knew the truth about Feng his priorities are more important, he has to give his cultivation to ji heng to cure her to honour a promise made to her father because of that he was weakening and he can’t fight demon queen if his powers get lesser, yes it is partly jealousy but I believe he was also thinking about the safety of the universe. Feng wants to save one life he has to save everybody so whose needs are more important. Also from his POV Feng doesn’t help her case by talking about beauty treatments and cakes. I don’t think he was training Feng to win the tournament, he had found out she has the red Qi that the demon queen wants so he wanted her to level up so can defend herself as he repeatedly warns her he can’t always be there to protect her. Feng is crying she worked hard for nothing without realizing Dong hua is saving her life against a bigger threat.
The problem is both ends, she needs to grow up and get past the I am always the victim thinking. Dong hua doesn’t communicate, he never explains why he is helping jiheng to feng maybe he thinks it is beneath him to explain it to her. He has lived many centuries without having to justify his actions he always knows best people follow him without question, so he expects the same from his wife.

FJ has never stopped loving DH for thousands of years, ever since he saved her from the demonic tiger at Mt Qinyao. They are not originally fated, and were not even meant to see each other. Drama POV, at Ep30 if FJ wasn't planning to steal the pimpon fruit, she will not be part of the cleansing of DH of the Miaoyi chasm toxins - that is Miao Luo and her projection who made its appearance at Fanyin Valley. During their duel, the blinking of FJ's birthmark indicated that the red Qi of Miao Luo is in her body. Both DH and Miao Luo through her projection realized what that meant.
Ep32 Miao Luo made an attempt to take back her red Qi from FJ, but was prevented by the Tiancang cage of DH. To prevent more attacks against FJ, DH had put up wards over the courtyard they're staying in, using the pretext that they're having a closed in training to ready her for the competition.
DH at Ep6 expressed distaste of being beholden to anyone when Liansong was asking his help for the short knife. Fast forward to Ep33, had FJ come clean that the pimpon fruit would be to pay back a debt, and not cakes with Xiao Yan, DH would have understood why she wants it so much.
After getting her out of her possessed state, Ji Heng took advantage of her father's good relationship with DH yet again to "steal" the prize of FJ. Not only that, the rotten white lotus pretended there's more between her and DH, and so audacious to lie and warn off FJ over DH.
DH is already smitten with FJ from when he met her. Book POV, he had read up all about FJ before going to Fanyin Valley. If FJ tried to chase DH when she was a young fox, this time, it is now Dong Hua chasing after her from Jiuchongtian to Fanyin Valley, and now to the dream realm.
Granted, DH falls in love for the first time. Aside from being zero EQ, he's now feeling jealous and is acting petty against the object of his jealousy. It was wrong of him to give away her prize, though it's because logic wise, Ji Heng's reason seems to have more weight as she said she wanted the fruit to be cured of the Qiushui poisoning, while FJ was giving vague answers of wanting to taste pimpon cake.
Another reason is that when Ji Heng is cured, DH will not have to spend time with her anymore. He knew Ji Heng has started to have feelings with him, and he wants to keep the distance. DH after all has thrown out thousands of demonesses and a lad years ago, and secluded himself in his palace to avoid celestials who are interested with him.
DH might not have said anything yet to FJ, but his actions has proven she is special to him. He spent time training her, something he never did to anyone, not even for Ye Hua. The Biyiniaos have seen now how much he cares for her to accompany her in Aranya's dream. Only Ji Heng is still delusional and still talks of luck with him despite what they all witnessed.

Agree. I also think Dong Hua did wrong. He later admits this without any excuses. I actually admire that, when it counts, he admits to wrong and goes straight to repairing the break he has caused in his relationship with Feng Jiu. Only people who truly care find the courage to admit to mistakes and seek to make things better. And only those who truly love care not for what others think and fight to win back the love that was nearly lost. Dong Hua proves he is such a person.
Feng Jiu is not permitted to speak about the mortal lifetime. There are rules (according to most heavenly fantasy Cdramas) about speaking about a deity's lifetime trial - especially if you were part of it. And it being Dong Hua Di Jun's lifetime trial, that is a biggie that probably entailed the highest levels of Heavenly Confidentiality. Feng Jiu and all the people who were involved are just lucky they were not expected to take a potion of forgetfulness. Which the people involved in Dong Hua's shadow healing did.
