Sorry, not really. These videos are the closest to complete how-it's-put-together videos I've made. I bought a vacuum chamber with vacuum pump to play around with making candy now while I am buying my HR. What is your view on hooking one of the filter up between the chamber and pump, would it capture any water or particles. I am not looking to invest a ton more money because I am getting a HR within the next 2 to 3 months. Thank you. Oh and I am thankful I stumbled across your channel.
Thanks for watching! The filters I'm using for the oil wouldn't work for the vacuum line and I've only read about the type made for that purpose. I'll have learn more about them.
Would you be willing to share a video and parts list for your filtering system? I'd like to make my system more efficient and eliminate the manual oil changes after each batch.
I can do that. It'll take a little while as I'm working on a couple projects. I'm thinking of changes to simplify the use and maybe not require 3D printed parts. I'm changing the filters right now. It's been 24 batches since the last filter change. Typically, I switch out the filters every 10 to 25 batches, depending on how wet the batches are. And I opened the pump tonight to check it inside; it's been 135 batches since I opened it. It was so clean it didn't need to be opened or cleaned.
@@AddictOfLearning Not good enough for sharing, but It's getting closer. And, I will soon be assembling a system for my sister, so I will be "forced" to make a full list of parts and video how I make hers work. It will probably be a bit different than what I been using, and I will probably be changing mine to match at the same time.
Full parts list? Please send to my email. How much does a goldenrod filter cost? How much does the water block/separating filter cost? Please provide the size and thread type of the fittings that attach to the fill hole. Thank you for the video.
Why not just take the old filter and oil out , throw it away and install fresh new oil and filter. Done, no mess and no possible after taste in freeze dried food.
I do throw out the old filter material. (Paper towel😁) There is no possibility of the oil affecting the taste of the food. It's a one way system, it only goes from the freeze drying chamber to the vacuum pump, not the other way. There is a check valve at the pump to prevent anything from going back.
Thank you for sharing like you do about this! It is so helpful!
Thanks for watching and commenting. Let me know if there is anything specific you would like to see.
Did you make a video on the components of this oil filter system and how it connects to your freeze dryer?
Sorry, not really.
