Appscope is great, and it's good to know what apks you can replace with Web apps (you'll be surprised how many there are) I love Web apps. You get all the functionality you need from apks in a smaller size. I like to put all my Web apps together in a folder
I use webapps using Brave browser for streaming anime, it removes all adds

I downloaded lawnchair today before I watched this video. I remember moving from my first old, unoptimized launcher to apex launcher and it felt like an entire jump in generation. I have use many launchers and lawnchair felt just like the next generational jump. It is so we'll put together and easy to use with TONS of features.

On 9:12 , when he closes the Twitter app, the app screen shrinks to the icon, similar to stock launchers. This is the only thing that is keeping me from custom launcher, those animations...

I don't understand what you are talking about with "screenshot templates". A screenshot is a screenshot, right?
Those are basically 3d scenes with a phone object on it. Now you put your screenshot on that phone object's screen, and it's rendered all together

You can use Newpipe or UA-cam Vanced to block ads. Vanced requires you to add your google account. Vanced is like a modded UA-cam app. The only thing I found you can't do is download vids, even though the option is there. Newpipe doesnt require login and you gotta re-sub to channels, but you can dl vids, have a popup and background player (music/podcasts), protects your privacy and of course, Newpipe is ad-free! Have fun ad free!

why does it sound like it's the vpn in blokada that blocks the ads? i can install any vpn app like nordvpn for example, and ads will not be blocked, so it must be something else doing the blocking.

On some android 9 and 10, there's a setting called private DNS. It is default to auto. If you change it to custom and make it :
dns[dot]adguard[dot]com
this will remove all ads from your phone.

NextDNS (search it on Google) is much better suited for adblocking because you can configure your DNS to have different hosts!

Check NextDNS. One of the best DNS security and Ad Blocking service out there. You can even set it on a router level and it encrypts DNS. Also I suggest Firefox Preview as your default browser. Non Chromium and feels pretty much better than Chromium in every way, but Bromite is really great as well. Also, Cryptee is a really good Google Docs/Photos replacement.
