- In this video, I share my journey from supporting Joe Biden to becoming a Trump supporter. Initially, my support for Biden stemmed from my long-standing alignment with traditional left-leaning liberal values, emphasizing liberty, freedom, and individualism. However, as the political landscape has shifted, I've found myself increasingly disillusioned with the current direction of the left and the Democratic Party. The ideals I once cherished now seem overshadowed by a sense of self-destruction and detachment from reality.
Conversely, I've grown to appreciate conservative values and Trump's straightforward approach. Despite initial reservations about his character and certain policies, I've come to see his leadership as more pragmatic and aligned with my evolving views. While I still have concerns about aspects like isolationism and social policies, I believe Trump presents a more realistic and effective alternative to the current political climate. Trump says Biden is controlling the DoJ. But that doesn't make sense considering Hunter is on trial. So the justice system seems to be holding both sides accountable.

Candidates that are too politically correct is a red flag to me. Which is probably why I never liked AOC. They tend to virtue signal alot in order to gain more Voters and not solve issues concisely and efficiently. It's a similar dynamic to why “Nice Guys” are looked at with contempt. The first step to solving a problem is to admit the problem in blunt honesty. Being too politically correct prevents that. Mainly because it can be perceived as some sort of "ism." For example, Geert Wilder explains the obvious problem with invaders of a certain demographic and is deemed one of those "isms." But in the long run, he will have effectively protected his country from ending up being overtaken like Britain, Canada, Paris, Sweden and Germany who preferred to embrace political correctness when voting for a certain Candidate.

American old man here. I've noticed over my life time that we in America have gradually gone from having two statesmen to having the lesser of two evils, to finally having the evil of two lessers. I think a lot of it has been the technological advances in media. In the days of newspapers, you really couldn't find out anything real about your candidates. The newspapers were mostly run by the political parties anyway. The Times Mercury Democrat. The Irvington Daily Republican. Those were the kinds of newspaper names you had back then. Technological advances have made media more and more intrusive. We started getting our candidates "warts and all." And that caused fewer and fewer really good people to run for office. The really good people in America usually have a lot of business connections, interests, relationships, and incomes they do not want anyone to know about. That started limiting the pool of who would actually want to run because all that would come out if they threw their hats in the ring. So what we have started getting as candidates are lesser elements who can appear to be clean but are stalking horses for forces that are not very clean themselves, or people who just don't give a poop what comes out about them.
I'm not real happy with Trump because when he was in office he caused a lot of fur to fly but he never (except for Court appointments) really got down to brass tacks and got legislation through that would survive his administration. (By contrast, Obama kept his head down and got things through that continued on during Trump's time.) And I'm not happy with him threatening NATO and being friendly with Putin. But we just can't have Biden again.

I am a right-leaning Republican, but have never liked Trump. I voted against him in the primary in 2016, but held my nose and voted for him in the general.
I liked a lot of what he did during his presidency, but his behavior and things he said and tweeted were awful (even though some of it was taken out of context).
His behavior after the election was also awful, refusing to concede after he lost, but a lot of the overreaction to the capital hill riot was insane. There was no Insurrection, it was trespassing that turned into a riot.
I also voted against Trump in the primary in 2024, but will have no problems voting for him in 2024.

I don't agree with a lot of the modern left even if I consider myself progressive, libertarian, leftist, or whatever these words mean now but I'm mostly a normal person that doesn't prescribe to tribalism when it comes to politics. That being said I can't say I agree much with the idea of the video. On locker room humor and standards, I feel like we should have high standards for a president which is the biggest reason I don't support trump. It's like a teacher, we know teacher have lives, say shitty things and do questionable things but that's stuff is in private and would be inappropriate to be brought into the classroom. It should be the same way for a president or really any position of authority. Your CEO reflects the company, your president reflects your country. That's why presidents should conduct themselves with good albeit fake pc behavior. I think most just want the us to be less reliant on others. Yes we need allies but our allies are users snd backstabbers. Nato nations need to carry their weight and use their money to build a stronger larger military. Helm ge some nukes. They spend too much of their liberal bs. Everything is pretty much imported. Why? We give jobs away to forgein countries. We support forgein students education who go back home with that degree and we robbed American students of a career. We need more Americans getting these jobs. Build our economy from within. I get we need trade but only if we need to.

Many aren't, even some who want to cut aid to Ukraine aren't against Ukraine.
There are some isolationists who want to avoid foreign entanglement at all cost, but there are some who continually attack Ukraine, but won't criticize Russia or Putin, or at the most will give brief, half hearted criticisms to try to avoid the pro-Putin label.
I think isolationism vs. Globalism is not binary, but a spectrum.
I want to preserve American sovereignty, and I don't think we should be constantly tied up in wars, but I do believe we need alliances with countries that share our values and/or interests.
I think we should help Ukraine, but we should also be allowed to ask just how much we are going to invest in it, and we should be allowed to ask how the money is being spent, and if there is corruption and if Zelensky is violating free speech rights of his opponents or other rights of his citizens.
It seems the other extreme will only answer these questions by calling the one who asks a "Tool of Putin," instead of refuting the charges or acknowledging them, but saying we still need to help Ukraine.
@@andyhight9441 It’s not fair to demand that Ukraine reach the same level of freedom as the USA. All you can really ask is that they are moving in the right direction.
As for the money, the most important help that Ukraine needs from USA is weapons; not money. Ukrainian corruption is only a problem if sending financial aide. If USA just sends military arms, the only cash expense is the $ that USA pays to the Americans who deliver the arms packages to Ukraine, and the $ they spend on replacing stockpiles of old US military supplies with new US military supplies.

I don't think it should be mandatory that Ukraine, or any country have the same level of freedom as America to receive aid in this situation, but the fact that many on the pro-Ukraine side consider even asking the question the same as siding with Putin puts a lot of people off and makes them wonder what they have to hide.
And money or weapons we should have the right to know where they are going and if there is corruption.
Dismissing all questions as pro-Putin propaganda when they could simply be answered also begs the question of what they have to hide.
Also, we should have the right to know what if any limits there will be to this aid. This has already cost countless billions, should this just go on indefinitely? Should it cost trillions?
Let me be clear, I am 100% on the side of Ukraine, Russia had no legitimate reason to attack, they were never going to be attacked by Ukraine or NATO.
I think Putin is a tyrant and a war criminal who won't stop at Ukraine if he wins, but we need to be able to ask questions and answer them.
There is also a lot of lies coming from the anti-Ukraine side but the reaction is not to refute them with arguments and evidence, but to simply act as if they don't even need a response, and it will make some people wonder if the reason is that there's truth in what they're saying.

I have to agree. I've been converted to a slight Trump supporter because I think we need a stronger stance on crime, immigration, and the first and second amendments. I'm more socially liberal but I think these other issues I listed are more important
