Beautiful wood and a beautiful family. Nothing like getting to spend time with the family, especially grandkids. We have a 5 yr old grandson and cherish every minute we get to spend with him.
Hello again Tim. He has asked about seeing the sawmill for quite some time, and we finally worked it out. Every minute he is here, is awesome, and takes priority over everything.
Astonishing, wow. Now that log looks better than its lower mate. Kids, when it's time to go, they're gone. Almost to 10k subs. Way to go and enjoyed the video and seeing your family. Take care.👍👍
Man oh man, I would love to do a man cave in that... floor to ceiling with some kind of corner molding and mop board. That should be illegal to cut over 3/8 inch thick and a light planning ! Freaking gorgeous
Hello Morgan, and welcome. This is some of the most amazing wood I've seen. I can't wait to start the table project we have planned for some of it. I have special orders in with my log guys, to keep an eye out for this stuff, and let me know when they find it. I would hate to miss out on more of this.
@@IronOakSawmill That would be like missing your first date in your own car and no curfew. I don't believe I have ever seen that much drama going on inside a tree. I did buy a piece of no., 2 plywood once with lots of grain and swirls plus knots that were tight and we let people draw around things they saw on it. Pictures of jesus and bears and eagles and the list goes on. Yes there were requirements to meet on this and no vulgar things. I was able to fill both sides of that board and start another after clearing the first one. A long story here of where when and why... I would have to say this is about as good as the first kiss Deb gave you! One thing that you can count on, every piece of wood has its own personality
Book match the two biggest pieces with butterflies, reenforce underneath with steel, use red and orange opalized epoxy for voids. One hell of a dinning room table.
Would love to get my hands on a piece of that. Heck, even the off-cuts have got to be amazing! Do you guys still do the occasional yard sale for your ends and such?
Always a good question Jim. From what I've gathered from researching, anytime the tree suffers some sort of wound, from a bug bored hole, a woodpecker, or some other trauma, the red is produced. The color itself a fungus. It is just something the tree produces. Originally it was thought to be caused by a fungus, but has since been disproved. Thank you Jim
that is beautiful
I have to agree with you. I hope to find more

Hello Robin, and welcome to the mill. If you stick around our channel, we plan on building one from these slabs.

Hello Jeff, and welcome to the mill. I'm with you on the book matched set, and epoxy. It would look amazing.
How many see the rainbow.
Its all great color. Lol

We did sell the cutoffs from the mill. They didnt last long at all. Contact me if you want some. Not sure where you are, but maybe we can ship to you.
Iron & Oak Sawmill I’m up in Mt Pocono/Tobyhanna area. May be able to set a date/time to come down. My wife saw that color and fell in love!
