    This is a good video: The title may sound like a riddle, but, in essence, it is a downslope that is created.

    I thought FDM had gotten himself into the siphon game to actually make water run uphill. Now that would be sweet.

    What is the trick to getting the proper slope from your beginning 14” to the deep end? The long slope looks so very even and not wavy up and down in any way. I know you have a great diggerman, but any tricks?

    If you didnt have a city drain to core into, would your next option be a leach field?

      They’re going to drill into the drain and run their pipe into it

    If you dig deep enough, it would flow downhill within the channel. What is the finished product look like?

    So if you didn’t have a storm drain to connect to and had to use a pop up instead, would you just do risers on the pop up until you were at grade? Thanks for these very informative videos. Sharing your experience is very helpful to us DIY folks.

      Every situation is different. I would perfer to run flat no slope so it doesn't end up to deep then use knife cut at the end of the run. Make sure you have a D-Box

    But when you get really deep in the trench, do you have to add extra gravel to get the gravel to near ground level, or do you use about the same amount of gravel for the whole trench and use more dirt to top off the deeper areas?

    • @FRENCHDRAINMAN
      @FRENCHDRAINMAN  7 місяців тому +1

      Whatever we have in stone, we fill the trench with, and then we can top those really deep sections off with the soil.

      @FRENCHDRAINMAN Thx. And while I have your attention, one more question. If you are doing an exposed French drain (with no sod on top), do you still burrito wrap the entire 360 degrees of the pipe, or do you leave the top open (unwrapped) since it's only just gravel on top?

    What are your thoughts on a catch basin and channel drain being the same thing in the lowest part of the yard and overflowing anytime water gets in in?

  • @workhorsemtb7075

    Do you have to install some sort of backwater valve before the core at the catch basin?

    Id like to think the weight of the incoming water will push out the water trapped in the tube

  • @joeybez5464
    @joeybez5464 4 роки тому +1

    but the water will stop at the lowest point of trench still a pool of water
    i guess if you add soil to yard that is easier than digging plus it will use gravity to leave property

    What do you do when the pipe needs to go up into an existing drain? Like you have on this video.. you're going downhill all the way and then at the end, it's not clear how to get the water from the pipe into that drain which is higher up.. I have that problem and not sure what to do

    That's not running water uphill, the water is still running downwards, it's the soil that's higher.

    Change your r description!,,,,,,you say to run water uphill! Do you not know the difference in elevation’s? You are running the drain down hill to a manhole. Wouldn’t want you on my job site.

    BS video. Water doesn't run uphill.
    You compensated for the run by going deeper.
