I remember a video of Jackie Stewart talking about Cevert, he would speak of times when he would get to the hotel bar and Cevert was already there, at the piano, singing and entertaining everyone, owned the room.
I have a photo of Cevert taken not longer after the 1973 Canadian GP at Mosport. He had a shunt with Jody Scheckter and sprained both ankles. Two of his mechanics were helping him walk through the paddock and I happened to be about 10 feet away. Less than two weeks later, Cevert was gone. I have often thought about sending the photo to Sir Jackie Stewart.
@rolen, He was fairly banged up in the accident at Mosport. The two mechanics were almost carrying him because (apparently) he could not put any weight on his feet. As you said, though, we will never know whether the condition of his legs had any influence on his accident at Watkins Glen.

Coisa d louco. A8nda bem q estas corridas d f1 ja acabou a era!! ( morte muito viole8foi a dele!!)😓😢. Mas isso ja tem 50 anos::: quem sabe ele ja esteja entrenos novamente

I read about it - that he still had an ankle issues at Watkins. Was it the reason of his accident? We will never know.
