"A ox is kind of like a sliders." Actually kind of impressive to watch someone misuse the article "a" in two different ways in one sentence. Nathan is magical.
So, here's a suggestion for the crew, speed draws of each other as their own DnD character. Like Nathan would draw Julia as whatever race and class he thinks that she would be in DnD etc. Idk if something like this has been done before, but it'd be a big vibe.
they did something like this on the 5/20/2022 patreon bonus stream !! they drew fun lil illustrations of themselves (nathan did karina since she wasnt there) as dnd classes with cool backgrounds n everything! highly recommend checking it out, its definitely one of my favorite streams from them lol
I could've sworn that they had done this but I think I'm thinking of 'drawing each other as disney princesses' and 'drawing each other as avatar elements' which have similar vibes.
Nah I think Willie should play Julia (cause as we all know, they hate each other /s), Caldwell should play Jacob (because hair), and Tristan should play Nathan (beard)
Making Karina draw a biblically accurate angel with wings and animal faces/body parts is so appropriate considering how good she is at drawing furries and creating chaos lmfao
I love reading the comments as I watch, because without the context, there is absolutely nothing coherent you can gather about the episode. It's a nice little treat, and really adds to the chaos.
idk if you'll see this but as a wheelchair user it made me really happy for you guys to just, like, normalise wheelchair usage and shake off the crit of wheelchairs in d&d being unrealistic bc it makes me feel a lot safer in representing myself in my characters
some people complain about impracticality in dnd like my entire party didn't kidnap a kobold and make him a focal part of our combat strategy and also we would all lay down our lives for him in a heartbeat. We're teaching him to read and cheat at poker!
If I had a nickel for every time Drawfee made Applebee's a running joke in an episode, I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.
I think it helps that they're shaded pretty similarly. even tho the styles vary, the shading makes it come together. kind of like when you slap an overlay layer on your art to make the colors come together lol
I know what Jacob is talking about. I don't want the hosts to all play themselves in the Drawfee RPG. I want Jacob to play Karina, Karina to play Julia, Julia to play Jacob, David to play Nathan, and Nathan to DM (Drawf Master). And I never should have given up on my Drawfee fighting game drawing suggestion. This comment is very long, but I had a lot to say. I'm sorry.
David is maxed in dex and cha, and has expertise in sleight of hand. Their class feature is, Editor: Can choose to go last in iniative, and doing so grants them whatever is equal to sneak attack or assassinate in episode goodness. I assume in this that episode releasing is done in initiative, and rounds simulate maybe drawings, maybe bits, maybe even lengths of time so that whoever is drawing does multiple dex checks/saves and everyone else makes social skills to be funny. Maybe David could also have a bardic inspiration style die that can retroactively be added to otherwise failed check to edit it funny, called like Hindsight or something
Julia's class feature is, Julia, that's nothing: Julia gets advantage to her joke check or draw check, but everyone rolls wis. saves against her spell save dc or on their drawing turn suffer the effects for confusion spell reflavored for drawing. (originals in parentheses) [reflavors in brackets] roll d10 1: The creature uses all its Movement to (move in a random direction.) [draw a piece of drawing wrong/bad/misremembered.] To determine the (direction) [bit of drawing], roll a d8 and assign a (direction)[part of drawing] to each die face. The creature doesn't take an Action this turn. 2-6: The creature doesn't move or take Actions this turn. 7-8: The creature uses its Action to (make a melee Attack) [refuse to go along with bit/acts hostile] against a randomly determined creature within its reach. If there is no creature within its reach, the creature does nothing this turn. 9-10: The creature can act and move normally. The effects end after they have been resolved. Everyone whose drawing turn it is not makes a wis save or gets one level of exhaustion. Higher level exhaustion also needs reflavoring The movement here is used for drawing, Actions can be used to make bits, idk about bonus actions or reactions yet, maybe completely different rpg system would be better than just 5e hack
Every first episode after the new portraits is like a jumpscare. My little monkey brain goes "AH! SOMETHING IS DIFFERENT" even though I watched the WHOLE VIDEO when it dropped, and know full well that the change is happening.
You guys should do a speed draw of yourselves as the four horseman of the adrawcalypse. With each one of you representing a defining factor that makes drawfee drawfee. Julia - horseman of misdirection, Nathan - horseman of mispeaking, Karina - horseman of razzing, and Jacob - horseman of hard(or dumb) stances
"There's a lot of nonsense that doesn't make me happy, but this nonsense makes me happy." Exactly why I'm here, Nathan. Thanks for summing it up so succinctly.
I have in fact put Drawfee into DnD! I home-brewed Julia as a druid/ranger that unknowingly attracts monstrosities like the Pokémon she's drawn. So a fire elemental as monferno that just likes to hang around, a haunted little jack-o'-lantern as a wizards abandoned creation. It's really fun, all my players are horrified of this woman and are extremely suspicious of her!
There has to be an encounter where the party has to rescue her from a room full of vampires, but it turn out she and the vamps are pretty chill and they do this often
Suspicious, as they well should be! Julia as an actual pokemon trainer would 100% be hunting the radioactive wastelands of Pokemon Uranium for deformed monsters. If she were an anime trope, she'd be the silent type, who gets a glint in her glasses, and unleashes hell when you cross her. You should share story highlights to the drawfee reddit! I'd read it.
For over a year I wanted to hear a remake of Meredith Brook's "Bitch" that just starts "I hate the world today," and then is just music until the chorus, at which point she sings "I'm a bitch," and then just music.
Etymology challenge! Please draw yourselves or each other based on your name meanings! Nathan Yaffe means “beautiful gift of god” in Hebrew, Jacob Andrews means “manly conquerer” in Hebrew and Greek, Julia Lepetit means either “the small sky god” or “small and youthful” in Latin and French, and Karina Farek means “beloved difference” in Latin and Hindi.
that's a nice suggestion but just a note - karina doesn't mean 'pure' in polish, it's not of polish origin and doesn't mean anything here (sorry for being pedantic lol)
this is a real round shaped friend julia's drawn here. which is historically, her least favourite thing. loving it. also, i was really expecting karina's biblically accurate angel to end up with castiel's face but this is right. he's not a cherub obviously.

I have a moment of pure innocence involving Paradise by the Dashboard Light. My mother was (and sort of still is) a huge Meat Loaf fan, so a lot of road trips consisted of me flipping the cassette after each side concluded. For the longest time, I only ever really heard the girl during the Baseball Interlude, so my six-year-old mind thought it took place at an actual baseball game and the girl was fretting over whether she really loved the guy at bat. After I turned twenty...let's just say that's the first time I heard the guy after the last, "We're gonna go all the way tonight". That sort of ruined my childhood image of the song, and was really the first time I had the song's full story. (and while doing a bit of research for a statement, I saw that he had a legit Yankees announcer recite the 'play-by-play' for the song) However, my favorite Meat Loaf song - and probably the most inspirational one - has to be 'Alive' from the lesser known third (and final) album from the Bat Out of Hell trilogy, "The Monster is Loose". The 'never give up' vibes from the lines, "The darkest night ain't black enough to keep the morning light from shining/The highest wall ain't tall enough to keep the smallest man from climbing", is always a good kick in the pants to get you motivated.
If I could pick a single song that would end after one line, it be "The Song is Over" by The Who, where after a short piano interlude, the first lines are, you guessed it, the song is over. Then it goes on for another 4 minutes. The song clearly was not over. This way, ending it early finally makes it true.
I'm pleased that Karina referenced that Ed Sheeran song because I heard it on the radio for the first time and was laughing at how long it paused after he said "when I was 6 I broke my leg" or whatever

This combat wheelchair is strongly in line with some of the creations I was working on while playing my last DnD campaign as an Artificer. Sweet work, Julia!
Me, coming home after a 3-hour metallurgy lecture: Nice! New Drawfee! Jacob: Sand is just little rocks and metal is little rocks that are melted, and steel is when you combine your little rocks to form an alloy
@@esoteric_squid In a roundabout way... kind of? Most sand is SiO2/Quartz, which is technically a rock, but not a metal (it's commonly used for glass), but in a given handful of sand you will likely have metal impurities, including some which contain iron. Steel is indeed an alloy, specifically iron + carbon (with a lot of variations, but that's the basic recipe). I didn't see any carbon-containing contaminants when I was double-checking the composition of sand, but it's not hard to source elsewhere (ex. you can burn some driftwood). So basically, you can get steel from sand if you provide your own carbon.
@@EmilySmirleGURPS If you wanna see someone actually use sand for its raw components, you should look up "Kiwami Japan Sharpest Sand Knife"! That channel is absolutely full of ridiculous materials engineering

I once saved over MY OWN file in Kingdom Hearts after beating Sephiroth. My friend had started playing but she had to go home, so I just got to a save point for her and saved over my own file. In a Drawfee D&D Karina should be a Pact of the Fey Warlock, and her patron is the concept of Fate itself, considering how often Karina messes with Jacob and how often that happens to concicide with Fate itself messing with Jacob (The Fool and the Avalanche being examples to note of them conspiring). I think my favourite part of the combat wheelchair discourse is the fact that the people who say it's "impractical" and "makes no sense" are also FULLY AWARE that healing magic is rare and expensive and doesn't fully heal people (as it leaves scars and there are canon magical prosthetic items like an eye and a leg). So even if you take out the people who want to keep their disability, and how magic functions anyway in D&D*, most people couldn't hope to afford a spell to heal their paralysis or amputated leg or illness. Especially if they're from your basic starter town in bumfuck nowhere. Especially the amputation part because that is a 7th level spell. *Magic as I understand it (or as I run it as a DM) cannot make your body things it is not beyond an illusion or extremely powerful, potent Resurrection magic (as Resurrection magic completely changes your body). So if you were born without the right muscles to stand properly, magic cannot fix that. If you were born without your legs fully formed, you cannot get them. There is no spell that says it heals every single possible illness, nor a spell that undoes scar tissue, and Regenerate specifically says "severed limbs" and "natural healing ability", so you're not growing limbs you never had. Healing magic at its core acts as a big ol' reset button. I as a DM would also rule that if an injury is scarred over, it can't be healed by healing magic. Because scarring can't be healed by healing magic, by the admission of ableists no less. Like if I can't use magic to make my fucking hair grow long, I can't make someone grow a leg they never had before.
I would allow resurrection and true resurrection to just grow the missing limbs, as the spells say "any missing body parts" and "replaces any damaged or missing organs or limbs" respectively, but as you said, that's super endgame stuff, and might warrant an entire campaign around. That could be fun to run.
@@_skirdybirdy1788 I mean, I suppose but for me, it's not about "allowing", it's about the fact that there's no reason to erase disabled people. No spells will give you limbs you never had. No spell will "fix" legs that never worked. There is no spell that can heal non-magical paralysis. If a player is choosing to play as disabled, they shouldn't be forced out of that by magic. Like I said- to me, healing spells in D&D can only basically restore you to your natural, most healthy state. The only spells i would argue that can give you new limbs when you never had them, and make body parts work that never did before, are Wish and Reincarnate (as you get a completely new body out of the spell but you also have to die first). My main point really is that naysayers of the Combat Wheelchair don't really think about why people need a wheelchair and how expensive magic is.

Re: Angel with 4 faces etc.... a Sunday School teacher of mine did a lesson based on the book The Spaceships of Ezekiel, leaving 13 yr old me with the conviction that space travel was God's will.
For anyone who cares, which I can't imagine are many, Angels in the bible are described in the Oriental style, not Western. So they speak figuratively. The faces represented their dominion over over Labor, land, air, and man. The wings represent their freedom to move. In reality, they probably just look like people. But that's boring to describe
While this is true, Biblical symbology can be weird since the Bible likes the idea of living symbols, where something physical is made into a symbol for something spiritual. So while everything you said is true, the description of angels being symbolic doesn't mean it's not also literal. Though it is true that often angels in the Bible just look like humans, so who knows.
I suggest watching Wendigoon's video on angels because he goes into a lot more detail than my jelly brain can ever comprehend but Cherub angels and "Angel" angels as portrayed in media are two different types of angels, with "normal" angels being closest to earth and looking the most like humans and Cherubs mostly serving god and also kinda looking like humans but with the whole four faces, four wings kind of deal going on, the idea that Cherubs look like tiny babies with wings comes from (and I may be misremembering this so like go watch Wendigoon's video) comes from the romanticism period of art it's an interesting concept to learn even if you're not religious/Christan
Now I wanna embroider “Seraphim? I Hardly Know Of Him!” on a shirt. And add some weird iconography around the edges. Maybe in a circle around a really messed-up stylized pelican.
Having been a fan of Sara for a long time it's super cool to see the combat wheelchair get the praise it deserves! And the a-holes hating on it getting brushed off as dumb is great, too!

I love reading the comments as I watch, because without the context, there is absolutely nothing coherent you can gather about the episode. It's a nice little treat, and really adds to the chaos.
same! a lot of channels, reading the comments first mean spoilers. here its part of the chaotically confused experience
I just have to add that, with this episode especially, there is still nothing coherent you can gather about the episode by watching it

i am LOVING everyone's new portraits! everyone has their own style but they all look so cohesive.
It looks like an old Disney movie
It’s really neat how that works, they all go together but you can still distinguish the art styles. Absolutely in love with these new portraits.
I think it helps that they're shaded pretty similarly. even tho the styles vary, the shading makes it come together. kind of like when you slap an overlay layer on your art to make the colors come together lol
They look more mature now
I agree!
I'm sorry.
i would highkey love to watch that
@@mony.mp4 The TTRPG or the episode I suggested?
(originals in parentheses) [reflavors in brackets]
roll d10
1: The creature uses all its Movement to (move in a random direction.) [draw a piece of drawing wrong/bad/misremembered.] To determine the (direction) [bit of drawing], roll a d8 and assign a (direction)[part of drawing] to each die face.
Higher level exhaustion also needs reflavoring
The movement here is used for drawing, Actions can be used to make bits, idk about bonus actions or reactions yet, maybe completely different rpg system would be better than just 5e hack

(and while doing a bit of research for a statement, I saw that he had a legit Yankees announcer recite the 'play-by-play' for the song)
However, my favorite Meat Loaf song - and probably the most inspirational one - has to be 'Alive' from the lesser known third (and final) album from the Bat Out of Hell trilogy, "The Monster is Loose".

Jacob: Sand is just little rocks and metal is little rocks that are melted, and steel is when you combine your little rocks to form an alloy
So like.... Can you confirm? Did he get it right?

It's called Regenerate instead of Generate for a reason

I suggest watching Wendigoon's video on angels because he goes into a lot more detail than my jelly brain can ever comprehend but Cherub angels and "Angel" angels as portrayed in media are two different types of angels, with "normal" angels being closest to earth and looking the most like humans and Cherubs mostly serving god and also kinda looking like humans but with the whole four faces, four wings kind of deal going on, the idea that Cherubs look like tiny babies with wings comes from (and I may be misremembering this so like go watch Wendigoon's video) comes from the romanticism period of art
it's an interesting concept to learn even if you're not religious/Christan
Now I wanna embroider “Seraphim? I Hardly Know Of Him!” on a shirt. And add some weird iconography around the edges. Maybe in a circle around a really messed-up stylized pelican.
Having been a fan of Sara for a long time it's super cool to see the combat wheelchair get the praise it deserves!
