I think what freaks me out the most is Dirtpool getting close to his victims before killing them.. makes for an awesome dark character but def a little insane lol
the fact that some of them were kittypets too. imagine your cat going out into the forest at night n you think nothing of it until one day they dont return home so you go looking for them in the forest and find them dead and all mangled up in the forest
Absolute girlboss moment. Not the cannibalism... obviously, but like... this is so well made holy moly! I love the voice acting and when Dirtpool was like "That's rich coming from someone who came here to eat!" It just blew my mind and then with the ending where Bunnypaw closes their eyes just... the tension! Ugh, keep up the good work! These OCs are really interesting and I've never seen anything like this before! It's so unique!
I always love seeing ocs with *good* morbid stories like this! I'm such a sucker for dark stories, and there's, understandably, not a lot of them in the Warriors community. But this one is a treasure! I read the backstory, and I just love it, possibly more than I should lol. I just love how Dirtpool commits horrible actions, but it's honestly very understandable. He's desperate to survive, and more desperate to provide for his family. And I love how between this and My Way, you know he doesn't enjoy it, he just feels like he has to. The real villain to me is that Brightstar... Like, smh he's too proud to find another territory and everyone's suffering deeply for his stubbornness... It also made me contemplate a part from canon Warriors... If Warriors wasn't a children's series, and was darker, perhaps this would've been an interesting plot point during Thunderclan's "Great Hunger"...
I sometimes wish Warriors was wrote like Watership Down in the sense that it's not written for children, just a story. We could have more stories like this or graphic scenes more, but no. Warriors decided to set its target audience to children... children who grew up and are in their 20's or older now
@@echowood1732 I fully agree with that. While reading, I often imagine how better the same stories could be if they weren't meant for kids. There's multiple points in different arcs that could've been a lot darker, even if the target audience was teens. And I'm one of those fans that basically grew up reading Warriors. As an adult, the writing can be downright terrible, especially when I take breaks to read more adult books. Hell, Wings of Fire, another book series aimed at children, is definitely better quality writing. But it's also by one author, not a team of writers who may or may not be keeping it going just for the money... I always say it's just the stories themselves that keep me hooked, and I just look past the writing quality...

"Everything is just so plain and clean, for books that already have so much death. Seriously, just make it more serious and dark if you're already going to have loads of it!" Uh I was kind of insane, but still waiting for my warriors book where someone rips someone else's heart out and keeps it as a trophy.
@@cosmox1x Heh, I actually started reading them in 6th grade myself. I still need to read AVoS and most of the non-arc books. And as someone who is always deemed dark/morbid, I definitely don't think that opinion's messed up or anything you meant by that. In fact, I totally agree. I often wonder how dark the books could've been if it was targeted to adult from the beginning. Imagine how much more gruesome everything could've been, when the gore is already explained so oddly detailed. Or how much more sadder something like Rainflower and Crookedstar's relationship could've been if they didn't, in my opinion, gloss over it as much. I feel like I fill in a lot of gaps the books give me personally, and have so many characterizations for the characters that I make to books deeper than they were actually written. It's fun to analyze the characters, but when I actually go to read the books, it feels lacking because of how I portray characters. Villains especially... But at least they're entertaining enough for me to wanna keep reading..

He would've stepped in and tried to kill Firestar right then and there, regardless of Misty and Stone's presence. And Darktail's Kin probably would've been cannibals if the books weren't as light. (Coming back I realize that you haven't read AVoS... Whoops... I can delete that-) Then again, I wouldn't have known about the books if that was the case, since they wouldn't have been in my elementary school library... WOF's Darkstalker book is pretty much what I want out of my warriors books. Especially how Arctic died. Forced to tear himself open in front of an audience... Also, the pregnancy scenes are so unnecessarily detailed???

I absolutely love Dirtpools character. He was absolutely terrifying in the “My Way” video, and he still is, but after reading more into his story he doesn’t seem like a villain. He’s just trying to survive, even if it’s a very dark path he’s taking. None of this would have happened if his leader wasn’t so set on staying in the barely-any-food territory. And i find that amazing. Not the cannibalism and the horrible leader, but the story’s idea itself; I adore dark stuff like this. Incredibly done.
"that guy from that video" they say, "DIRTPOOL IS FINALLY BACK" I yell His story always was and will be absolutely golden, but the way you portray and tell it is a whole another level of masterpiece. Absolutely magnificent work
I always loved this story, because in a time of a dire survival situation, cannibalism is exactly what happens in nature. It seems morally wrong, but once you know the story and that Dirtpool and his family literally survive off the cats he kills, it's just... can he really be held accountable?
Dirtpool must have been really hungry & desperate to have managed to kill cats he became "friends" with. I can't imagine me or my Ocs reaching this kind of level. What an interesting character
It's been such a long time since I first watched "My Way", and I was really interested in the story from that alone- so I'm really glad to see that more of his story is being told! You're an incredibly talented story writer and artist/animator, and you've improved quite a bit since "My Way". Even back then I really admired your art style, and I can't explain how pleasing your current style is to look at. Not to mention how you animate, which I would gladly watch hours of. All that to say I'm overjoyed to see Dirtpool content again and I am very invested in the story!
Oh, also, this is by far the coolest version of the "I Am Not Insane" meme that I've seen. I love the voice acted part afterwards, I haven't seen anyone do that before and it really added a lot to the story telling. I look forward to seeing more of Dirtpool's story!
I love this more morbid side of Warriors where cats are forced into cannibalism to survive. I'm not saying I love cannibalism bc fuck that but the idea behind it for Warriors is excellent. It adds an aspect of horror to it

I don't know how to feel...4 years anticipating the rest of the story ending off of My way (though I remember reading that lil backstory thing on DA and that made everything SO much more clear..) I thought Dirtpool only ate road kill and stuff, but I didn't know he got close to his victims before brutally murdering and cannibalizing them! Makes everything so much more dark..Also the fact that Bunnypaw has resorted to doing the same as Dirtpool because of the incompetence of her leader and her hunger... I can't wait to see more of the story!
this is absolutely beautifull and i love the shot where dirtpool looks up at the moon with that sadness in his eyes, its so pretty!! and the little scene at the end is fantastic and really captivating, the pacing is perfect imo and makes you really sympathetic for him!! all of this is just amazing~ and good luck with your uni in the future!!!! i hope you get in one day!! you would absolutely kill it there im sure
i love the little details, like for bunnypaw you can see the shine at the edge of her eyes when shes crying, showing she's really upset about the current condition
I love how half of this is a meme and the rest is a scene explaining what's going on. It's so much more immersive then just reading it and I appreciate the extra effort.
I think one of the darkest things about Dirtpool is the sheer NUMBER of victims he's taken. I count TEN cats in total in that one shot (Eleven if we count Raspberrypelt).. I bet there's been more than that though.. Gotta keep those kits fed, after all. And I absolutely love a grim, deeply dark character story, especially involving cats.
Ahh it's been so long, Dirtpool is finally back! And of course you have to add the cliffhanger for us to wait for part 3! Everything about this was so fun to watch, the expressions, the movements, and the voice actors did such an amazing job! Can't wait for more 🖤🤍. I've also got a cannibal Oc, his name started as Birdtalon, but when it was discovered what he was doing, before he died, their leader renamed him Houndswallow. Since hounds are enemies (he basically became that) and he swallowed cats. He will live his days in the dark forest as Houndswallow
Funny enough I ended up making a character based off dirtpool like a lot of others on here! I freaking loved that video and this one! My OC’s name was Batstalker, and even tho he kinda isn’t the best character because he ends up enjoying cannibalism and making a whole clan around doing so, I think watching your story and cultivating his off your premise was really fun! Thank you.
HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT THAT END WAS HORRIFIC but in a good way? This was the first time I got chills while watching/reading a story! The last few moments were so eerie, but beautiful. I am simultaneously spellbound and envious of your storytelling skills.

i am watching this immediately after the you're not special video and i'm heartbroken over his character development / descent into lunacy ;-; he seemed so sweet as a kit / youngster :/ (i love dirtpool as a character tho, so well designed and written)

I love these two characters! They have Chemistry and through a lot of work they seem to understand each other! I don’t know if I ship ship them seeing as Bunnypaw may have recently just become an apprentice (I don’t know how close In age they are) but I can see bunnypaw being dirt pools confidant, like dirtpool trusts her more than his mate. they are kinda like best friends who support each other because they have nothing else, and they are starving. they have to do what they have to do. they have nothing else, nothing to loose. they can only rely on each other because bunny paw is the only one who truly knows who dirtpool is and truly doesn’t judge him because she has to do the same thing.
The expressions, script, voice acting and even the music of that scene at the end all worked really well together to make it emotional and tense, congrats on your efforts in that! You could really get Bunnypaw’s feeling at the end, about to force herself to eat another cat. It’s amazing to see this video!! My Way came out so long ago now, I remember doodling (very badly) Dirtpool loads of times haha. It’s great to see more content, I actually love this story, and this character trying to convince himself he’s not insane and is just doing what he has to, even though he knows it’s wrong and everyone who finds out is calling him a maniac. The voice for him in the scene fits so well btw, great acting. And of course the art in the meme itself is beautiful, more great expressions and it’s really easy to tell the characters exact thoughts and feelings, from tricking to killing the kittypet and then feeling the guilt. I will be here waiting for more of your art and more Dirtpool content, no matter how long it takes haha. Keep up the awesome work :)) (also I get what you mean about starting projects and then feeling like they’re stupid, happens to me all the time)

Fabulous. One of the first Warriors video I ever watched. Honestly I think it's what made me aware of it and peaked my interest years ago. I mentioned before in your other vid that I'm not too into the series because I've never read them and I only ever watch things when they pop up on my feed like once a year but lately I've been very into actually trying to learn the lore and plot (god and the long complicated names and politics) of the series. I struggle a lot to keep up but I enjoy it all nonetheless. Thanks for the great vid.

Your My Way animatic was what made me feel better about having a cannibal warrior cat oc as well. I'd been made fun of once before for it being cringey and almost threw the character out. But cringe is dead and I like stories addressing dark and often realistic topics. Can't wait to see more of Dirtpool!

You don't really appreciate the full depth of this story until you read about what drove the characters to this desperate extreme.

I love these two characters! They have Chemistry and through a lot of work they seem to understand each other! I don’t know if I ship ship them seeing as Bunnypaw may have recently just become an apprentice (I don’t know how close In age they are) but I can see bunnypaw being dirt pools confidant, like dirtpool trusts her more than his mate. they are kinda like best friends who support each other because they have nothing else, and they are starving. they have to do what they have to do.
they have nothing else, nothing to loose. they can only rely on each other because bunny paw is the only one who truly knows who dirtpool is and truly doesn’t judge him because she has to do the same thing.
You have an incredible talent to put so much feeling into the characters expressions. I felt every second of it

This character is why Ivy Fire exist.
The expressions, script, voice acting and even the music of that scene at the end all worked really well together to make it emotional and tense, congrats on your efforts in that! You could really get Bunnypaw’s feeling at the end, about to force herself to eat another cat.
It’s amazing to see this video!! My Way came out so long ago now, I remember doodling (very badly) Dirtpool loads of times haha. It’s great to see more content, I actually love this story, and this character trying to convince himself he’s not insane and is just doing what he has to, even though he knows it’s wrong and everyone who finds out is calling him a maniac. The voice for him in the scene fits so well btw, great acting.
And of course the art in the meme itself is beautiful, more great expressions and it’s really easy to tell the characters exact thoughts and feelings, from tricking to killing the kittypet and then feeling the guilt.
I will be here waiting for more of your art and more Dirtpool content, no matter how long it takes haha. Keep up the awesome work :))

Fabulous. One of the first Warriors video I ever watched. Honestly I think it's what made me aware of it and peaked my interest years ago. I mentioned before in your other vid that I'm not too into the series because I've never read them and I only ever watch things when they pop up on my feed like once a year but lately I've been very into actually trying to learn the lore and plot (god and the long complicated names and politics) of the series. I struggle a lot to keep up but I enjoy it all nonetheless. Thanks for the great vid.

Your My Way animatic was what made me feel better about having a cannibal warrior cat oc as well. I'd been made fun of once before for it being cringey and almost threw the character out. But cringe is dead and I like stories addressing dark and often realistic topics. Can't wait to see more of Dirtpool!
