They should have made that when Sundowner loses half of his life but still with shields, he goes into phase 2 with always the ability to protect himself
or to just make his shields useful in phase 1, it'll automatically block an attack on a specific part of sundowner,much like how monsoons body reacts to attacks
I think Sundowner is so weak for lore-reasons, actually. Still doesn't make it much better, but at least it makes some sense that Jack is really, really overpowered with his new body, in the past he stood no chance against Sam, and now he absolutely destroys him. In DLC you can even see that in reality enemies are much faster - Sam has no serious augmentations, and with his normal perception Armstrong flies around like a rocket, enemies are very aggressive and fast, and blade-wolf is an actual boss, but for Raiden they're just sluggish. Basically, Sundower can't even follow Raiden's speed and gets severely outmatched by his augmented reaction time, you can see how Sundowner's reaction to your movement is delayed. He could've been an awesome boss for Raiden at the start of the game, but not anymore.
Nah, he is the boss of the desperados and still the weakest. Doesn't make sense storywise why he's the boss and got more build-up than the rest and is still weak
Soundowner should be ACTUALLY invincible until you destroy his shields, have increased health and damage, and then he'd be a boss that doesn't take literally less than two minutes
0/10 I was expecting to see raiden to be actually naked. But real talk, this is unironically the best way to enjoy the Sundowner fight, since now he doesn't die in a 6 hit combo
Sundowner should've been literally invincible when in phase 1. His shields instinctively protecting him from your attacks similar to Monsoon. Plus, in phase 2 he should've had more health and deal more damage, as it would be appropriate especially since he is the de facto leader of the Desperado company
Red Sun became my favorite theme over It Has To Be This Way which both are equally badass. But Sundowner's theme when i heard it before It Has To Be This Way i became captivated by it and became my all time favorite fight theme. I even jam to it when i'm at work or cleaning up. RIP Sundowner for being weakest boss out of all of them :(
I remember someone calling mgr a playable movie And you know what, after seeing raiden throw a robot, jump on missiles, and hearing the music kick I on the right time It probably is.

I feel like they should have made it so that below 60% he kept his shields up permanently, forcing you to bring him to to chadly Red Sun phase where the song actually plays and the gameplay is actually fun.
just shows how weak sundowner is when you almost had a no-damage run stock tbh in revengeance, it's really either no damage or dead. the rare time you get damage and still survive is through random bullets. those are annoying
I agree. The chopper is really annoying. Since I did the bossfight via the boss select on an empty savefile, I unfortunately don't have a rocket launcher to shoot the chopper down.
Whenever I fight Sundowner I try to deal as little damage as possible so I can hear red sun for a few extra seconds because after sundowner loses his shields well…It becomes Sundowner speedrun any %
One way you could no damage is avoid the helicopter and only break Sundowner’s shields from that parry attack. Then just hit restart at the checkpoint and boom no Helo. Worked for me
This is unironically how I did my entire first playthrough of the game because my dumbass just spammed through the menus to get to the next mission and missed the upgrades feature, I only found out right as I got to armstrong.
With "naked" is meant that this is Raiden completely without enhancements. It's like playing Raiden from the prologue without his new body, because I went straight into the Sundowner bossfight in this savefile before starting a game. This misunderstanding was not my intention. 😄

I don't think the Shields will work on phase 2, because the lack of movement Sundowner will get. I mean in phase 2 he's faster without the shields.
