    People do wrong, but they're not held accountable for what they've done. If they are not guilty, why would they take a pardon this should be taken up by the Supreme Court.

    UNCONSTITUTIONAL- gotta be charged with a crime to be pardoned from.
    What are the potential crimes that these pardons cover-
    "Political payback" is not a crime.

    • @ahapka
      @ahapka 11 днів тому

      It's not unconstitutional, there is nothing in the constitution that says you need to be charged. SCOTUS even ruled on this and said it's ok in Ex parte Garland, 71 U.S. 333 (1866).

    • @appalachiatiger
      @appalachiatiger 11 днів тому

      @ahapka this is the wording in the Constitution.
      "he shall have Power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offences against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment."
      So there HAS TO BE OFFENSES THAT HAVE OCCURRED TO INITIATE A PARDON.
      Someone is lying to you, or someone lying about what the Constitution actually said.
      Democrats are great at rewriting constitutional law without authority.

    • @ahapka
      @ahapka 11 днів тому

      @ true, offenses have to have happened. But you said "charged." That word is not in the constitution. There is nothing that says you have to be charged, just that you have committed the crime. The crime itself is an offense against the United States. That alone suffices. We don't have to like it, but it's how it is.

    • @appalachiatiger

      Section. 2.
      The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States; he may require the Opinion, in writing, of the principal Officer in each of the executive Departments, upon any Subject relating to the Duties of their respective Offices, and he shall have Power to GRANT Reprieves and PARDONS for 👉OFFENSES👈 against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment.

    I believe it is essential for the integrity of our justice system that any preemptive pardons be conditional upon the acceptance of the individual being pardoned, along with their admission of guilt for the crime committed. This amendment to the U.S. Constitution would ensure that pardons are not merely a tool for political expediency, but rather a means of promoting accountability and reflection on one’s actions. By requiring admission of guilt, we uphold the principles of justice and foster a sense of personal responsibility, ultimately encouraging rehabilitation and reintegration into society.
