Fluids are a necessary part of day to day life. After all, without water you couldn’t live, and without chocolate syrup, well, what would be the point? But have you ever noticed that not all liquids behave the same? In fact, some of them do some totally bewildering stuff under the right circumstances, and even after decades of research scientists are no closer to understanding why.
One question about strange fluids may have finally been answered thanks to some glass beads and laser beams. All liquids that we encounter in the real world can be boiled down to one of two kinds. They’re either Newtonian, or non-Newtonian.
Newtonian fluids are pretty easy to grasp. Well, not literally in some cases-a Newtonian fluid like water would squirt right out of your hand. A Newtonian fluid obeys Newton's Law of Viscosity which means its viscosity is constant. It doesn’t change when a force is applied to it.
Non-Newtonian fluids, on the other, less sticky hand, do change their viscosity…which can lead to some pretty zany shenanigans.
Still there are many more weird non-Newtonian behaviors scientists don’t have answers for. They may have just solved one riddle that’s stood for over 50 years.

Created by a team of researchers at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Slime Robot is a non-Newtonian fluid, meaning it can behave both as a solid and a liquid. This slime is made from a mixture of PVA and borax, but you can also make your own non-Newtonian fluid at home using cornstarch and water.

Owens was measuring the solution’s viscosity, or thickness. She loaded the solution between two parallel plates in her rheometer and rotated them. Rotating and shearing, or separating, the solution between two plates allows Owens to measure its resistance to separating, which is its viscosity.

Ketchup on scrambled eggs? Possibly they don't really like the taste of eggs need something to make it taste better. Sort of like steak seasoning to make the steak taste different than just eating steaks without being seasoned.
Bare steaks with nothing at all, add a dab of salt once served, just the best taste.
Put a tiny bit of mustard in the mix with a splash of milk and a tablespoon of butter and add some salt and pepper.
@Seeker, maybe make this a listed video?

Confirmed! Ketchup is made out of plastic! 😮😵💫
What about fluids whose viscosity changes with temperature i.e. magic shell ice cream topping? Is it just a matter of changing states of matter?
Things get colder they get denser, denser things are more viscous

Tabasco on scrambled eggs 💯 ketchup on scrambled eggs is a symptom of brain damage🤢
Ketchup seems to be a substitute when a preferred option isn't available. I put hot sauce on my burgers and vinegar on my fries. If those aren't available I default to ketchup. I think the only thing I will intentionally put ketchup on is a hot dog, but I don't really like them much to begin with.

Thermodynamics frequencies determines the weight of force. Cold fusion bonds elements cycling patterns of frequencies. Taking Thermodynamics out of fluidity reduces frequencies in gravitational fields of forced flow cycling through mass. Liquidity to solidity. Eggs heated releasing gravitational fields of forced flow cycling frequencies reduces fluidity into solidity. Water reduces Thermodynamics frequencies cycling patterns and constricts fluidity to ice. All mass is vibrating frequencies forming gravitational fields of cycling patterns of forced vibrating frequencies. Temperature is accumulated in mass and increases the weight or outward pressure held in gravitational fields of forced cycling patterns. As mass vibrates through space, stationary negative field of resistance to frequencies striking frequencies either amplify or nullify momentum. Water amplified frequencies become steam, water nullified frequencies become ice. It is the agitated state of frequencies that determines the weight of force. The more agitated force of outward weight. Agitated frequencies occupies more space. Electricity is agitated frequencies of forced weight. Hydrogen absorbs Thermodynamics and has amplified its frequencies cycling patterns outward force as weight or helium. Occupies more area than hydrogen. Singularity is quatamized gravitational forced fields of cycling patterns at created mass of occupied areas of resistance in momentum of space. Space is a cold stationary negative field of resistance that mass vibrates in momentum of repulsion to frequencies. Frequencies are limited to length, height, spectrum of thermodynamics in resistance. Momentum is reinforcement by repelling outward pressure from cold resistance to stationary space. Magnetic fields cycling are generated by proximity stars emissions of various finite waves of frequencies. Photons are only visible in resistance to mass. In space, frequencies of quantum thermodynamics are not visible or in enforcement until they encounter other frequencies. Entanglement gives fluidity solidity in gravitational fields of forced cycling frequencies repeating harmonics like a magnetic field of Planets. Gravitational fields of forced cycling are in quantum fields of mass. All mass vibrates in momentum as a wave in resistance cycling patterns of transference of resistance and thermodynamics, frequencies, throughout space. Planets vibrating in waves are vibrating space itself in momentum repelled by cold resistance throughout space. Magnetic fields cycle frequencies in quantum fields of gravitational fields. All frequencies are outward pressure as weight. Velocity is heavier weight. Electricity is weight. Sound is weight. Outward pressure is weight. Gravitational fields hold the force of weight in. When you lift a hand, your lifting the outward force contained in gravitational fields holding the frequencies in your hand in resistance to cold space also vibrating through you. Cold stripping away thermodynamics is decay. Cycling thermodynamics is renewable, but when you can no longer absorb thermodynamics in cycling it, then mass decays or ages. Ice is the beginning decay of water. Ice losing more thermodynamics decays to basic elements. Elements decay to quantum dynamics.

Here is an off topic, fringe, pseudo-science, theory I had yesterday. What are your thoughts on the following? I can take the criticism so don't hold anything back. Thanks!
What if the pyramid structures doted around the planet at specific latitudes and longitudes were ancient Ham Radios?
If the piezoelectric effect were generated by the mass of the pyramids, while the buildings surrounding were equipped with stone analog logic gates you could say the entire Giza Plateau was a circuit board the size of a city. While harnessing that much geomagnetic energy it might be possible to tune the occilating frequency output from the obelisk towers. Thus turning it into an ancient two way antenna/ Ham Radio. If the output carrier wave were specifically tuned to the inverse harmonic resonance of the ionosphere you could, in theory, bounce data packets across the world to every other pyramidal structure set as a two way receiving antenna, simultaneously. Theoretically a 12,500 b.c.e. to 30,000 b.c.e world wide telegraph network of the most rudimentary design might have been possible.
Think of the quartz crystals used as transducers, and signal attenuators housed within the logic gates which comprised the circuitry.
One caveat. All this obviously assumes that boolean logic, and binary data transformations were harnessed to disambiguate between background radio noise and carrier waves.
Now the hurdle of proving it which will undountedly be impossible. Because the passage of tens of thousands of years has erased everything not made of megalithic stone.
But I digress.
I'm clearly not an electrical, or computer, engineer. But if you can entertain the possibility by making several quantum leaps of faith I'd love to hear any alternative theories you might have.
Thoughtfully yours;
Delta Tesseract

Sounds interesting, David Ike and others have had such ideas. Nikola Tesla had similar ideas with his towers, more to dispurse energy, but all things are information.
It's a wild idea. Facts will be nearly impossible to find, well maybe easier to find an ancient ruin in the jungles with lidar technology and maybe more ideas and information could be found.
Fun thoughts to be had. How possible is another question.
I can think of one reason this might not be true, because to build such a radio to contact other civilizations you would have to already be in contact with them to agree on building such a big structure Just to keep in touch If you did not know they were out there why go through all that effort for nothing..
Ublek
Ketchup on scrambled eggs is just WRONG... everyone KNOWS you're supposed to use barbecue sauce! 😁

So, the big revelation here is the existence of Turbulent Flow? Thixotropy, Viscoelasticity, Colloids, none of that? I mean, imagine just ignoring that entire field of study on viscous fluid motion. Crazy. Couldn't be us.
I don’t know much about all of this but the thought of energy travelling in uniform through a medium on the molecular level having macro effect is pretty crazy and pretty much proves string theory for me a layman

Apple juice must be the quintessential Newtonian Fluid.
This has a bunch of misused terminology.
All liquids are fluids but not all fluids are liquids.
Gasses are fluids but it isn't until they are cooled or put under extreme pressure that their phase changes and they become a liquid.
Ooblec, pusher fluids, ketchup and other non-Newtonian fluids are not liquids either, they are suspensions. This is a when molecule or particle can't dissolve into liquid but is suspended at or near neutral buoyancy within it.
Does that include coffee? As a suspension, I mean. Serious question. Because I notice that many drinks separate if you leave them setting still over time, but coffee generally doesn't. 🤔
@@DaellusKnights coffee is that color, like tea, because of tannins, which are VERY tiny particles, and im assuming arent heavy enough to settle out
@@DaellusKnights Coffee and Tea are infusions. The caffeine, along with various salts, acids and other polar/ionic molecules dissolve into the water. However, coffee grinders and filters aren't flawless. Some of the coffee is going to get ground finer than the rest and parts of the filter (particularly paper filters) are going to have some larger pores. This will allow some of the grounds through. They will stay as a suspension for a while, but eventually settle out.
Herbal or flavored teas often have a lot of oils in them as well. These will stay as a suspension (emulsion when talking about fats and water in food and beverage). However, when cooled below the freezing point of the oil they will cause the beverage to cloud up.
The only hot beverage that is predominately formed as a suspension is hot chocolate. Most instant brands are chocolate flavored solutions, but a true hot chocolate is going to be ground cacao suspended in dairy; which itself is a solution of sugars, proteins and micro nutrients dissolved in an emulsion of fat and water.
The chemistry and physics of the food and drink is an astoundingly deep rabbit hole.

Newtonian fluid.
I think when we think of fluids, we think of something that flows freely, but that's technically gas, not fluids. Fluids are more of a semi-gas/solid which is more elastically interacting, effectively limiting the ability for it to flow freely.
Science doesn't understand most of what it claims to ... argh but follow the science lol
This is the regular opinion of the boring the lazy and the mediocre.
@@eddiepopcopter5902 history would prove it to be a fact, not opinion, maybe you should go study some history Eddie 😉
Your talking about fluids and mixtures. Your talking about 2 different thing thinking they are going to act the same. There are uncountable differences between how things can be mixed.
