Ottawa Zoning Changes from R to N increases Density

There are some major proposed Zoning Bylaw changes coming to Ottawa and Patrick Walchuk explains what it means. If enacted, we expect these changes to be implemented late in 2025.
Currently our zoning codes are R1, R2, R3 etc.
These will be changing to N1, N2, N3 etc.
The N stands for "Neighbourhood"
The new changes are likely to increase the density in a neighbourhood near you!
The City is looking at a geographic area and deciding how many housing units can fit in a hectare in that area.
There are resources online where you can enter your address to see what density is coming to your hood. Check your zoning here...
