I took most of my Christmas decor down this weekend, I leave my manger up until after the 7th, and a few bottle brush trees for the 'winter' look. I decorated with some greenery, and a few of my blue pieces. It still looks pretty neutral and relaxing. In mid January, I'll add my Valentines decor, which is pretty minimum. I enjoy decorating for Holidays, I feel it makes my place look cozy in a crazy world. Your house decor is so pretty and calming, and I never knew that was a couch cover in your family room, good job!

Monica, this is just lovely! I am in the process of doing my winter look and that is exactly what I’m after. I have several really nice pieces but I like that you have the added in the unexpected things like those beautiful beige pillows on the couch. It’s so calm and restful yet warm and charming. I’m kind of with you in that I don’t do a lot of decorating for Valentine’s Day because I’m older and it is enough for me to get my winter look done until sometime the end of March and then I move into the spring summer which stays up till I put up the fall. I’ve tried to do this both to conserve my energies and to be sure that for each season I have a unique look. I think one of the more challenging things is to do the look for winter because it is very easy for that one to end up cold but your house is beautiful - warm and loving and individual! Thanks so much for sharing.

This year I decoration for winter ❄️
The Winter Branch...now you can set this up in a few areas of your home....Get a winter branch from outside a good size...Paint it white...set in a tray..Anchor it in a hurricane glass filled with beads, twinkling lights, ❄️ snowflake hanging off a few bottle brush trees around it..and other mercury glass, clear glass, and gold glass candles all around........I also keep up a few of the winter trees...along with snowflakes.....This is my January , February & March For Winter /❄️ Decor..I have a bunch of wooden hearts & signs that I would add to my coffee station, and three tiered trays...Then April & May For Spring/ Easter combination Thats white bunnies, nests, blue speckled eggs, hydrangeas, lambs ears twinkling lights, birds, pinecones I keep it very very neutral...For all the months of Summer/June, July, August, and 1/2 September....Everything is Kept Red White and Blue....With with wooden signs, and Banners, a lot of stuff that go into tiered trays, and jars, straws etc...I mean we have Memorial Day, Flag Day, Fathers Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Patriots Day...Which brings me to October, November/ Fall Halloween and Thanksgiving combination decor.....As soon as Thanksgiving is Over Christmas is put up..🎄
I did blush for valentines last year, so soft and pretty. No reds or pinks!

Never😂 Sewing is something I feel so challenged with. It is also extremely time consuming. I’d have to give up UA-cam or my personal quiet time. I’m not ready to do either one of those☺️
I am in love the neutral colors and try to use decor that can be left out either year round, or more than one holiday. However, I still tend to stick with neutral colors.

....Looks really pretty, Miss Monica ! I do like to decorate during Valentines Month, I use Golds/ Silver/ very soft pink ( in limited doses, lol ) Creams , and whites... and things like burlap/ or something that has an organic feel , also in limited doses. Its kind of easy to transition from the Valentine Month decor into spring, depending on what I am using, it often works for both , with editing out specific Valentine items :) May your New Year be blessed , for you and your sweet Family and Furrbaby .

I rushed out and bought two area rugs, neutral and white; beige. Beige hand towels for the restroom. An off white pillow with texture design was an appealing addition. I found similar candle holders in off white at a yard sale. Now I’m searching for comfort items to decorate the futon!
