Let me fix some misconceptions real quick:
1 - The jump sometimes won't register because the game thinks you're already airborne. Why? Because you're traversing the small gap between the platforms. Pay attention the next time you play and you'll notice that the "smoke" animation that happens when you jump comes off when you go over the small gap. So basically to ensure that your jump will register, just avoid putting yourself in a situation where you'll need to jump while passing over the gap.
2 - Yes obviously the end of the pole traverses much faster, the circumference is larger. That's good, not bad. Stay there and, yes, it will come faster, but it'll also sync with the upper pole for much less time. Staying on the outside greatly diminishes your chance of getting into situations you cannot survive.

Hot tips guys: Don't jump on the inside, jump on the outside! The part about the pole moving faster is true, but this is actually an advantage. If you jump, the pole is more likely to pass under you. In addition, the gap between the big and little pole is actually larger when you are on the outer rim making it easier to clear.
Running in circles is fine, but I typically just run straight to jump over it
Don't ever panic! If you're unsure when the pole's a going to line up, either get right back (like to the edge, or run forward and jump and dive through it. Which ever one you do, don't hesitate and stick to your decision
Best non begginer tip: Avoid the gap between platforms. Even when they are together there is a gap between then. When you run over it it can either prevent you from jumping or if you manage to jump you will lose your balance. Even harder to happen but it does happens is falling in that gap, you can lose your balance and lose
@Taelin Cusic Between the platforms there is a gap, they are not one thing, each platform is its own even when they are together, you can still see a space between them. Jump in that space, or gap, and it will eat your jump or make you lose your balance.

Reason why your jump button is not registering is because you’re jumping on the crack between 2 tiles
You also fall down when you land on it like 7:31

It happens randomly but you never know when it’s gonna happen so I always avoid jumping+landing on it

When the pole are a wall can you jump dive, it kinda works for me
when the pole things stick together in the smaller one is fast as fck boi, then you should run by the poles direction and jump right before it hits you so the bigger one doesnt hit you either

In the update they changed hex_e_gon's name to hex_a_gon not many people know this but I think I know this because hexagon hates me
tip 5 for me is a dilemma, do i want to stay alone and potentially insta myself so i can alone blame myself, or i want to stay in crowded platform with a potential griefer

After a match of slime climb only 2 people were left, me and another person. Jump Showdown was the Finale, it was a 1v1. Of course he griefed me when he got close... most annoying shit ever

At 8:10 it actually happens to me we’re there were 4 tiles and 2 tiles and there were six of us on the four and 1 person on the two and the two tiles that stayed up were the ones the one guy was standing and he ended up winning😅

Yo caboose I played fall mountain like 15-20 times today and I just can’t get the hang of it. I have three wins two in jump showdown and one in hexagon. I am absolutely horrible at fall mountain after the big yeetus update and a vid like this but on fall mountain would be sooooo helpful

It's not "your jump button not registering". It's because if u jump while standing on the crack between two platforms, IT WILL EAT YOUR JUMP COMMAND.

I don't think griefing is a mistake. I manage to pull it off like 99% of times. You just need a lot of practise.
