I've had half a dozen Range Rovers and now this one. And to all of you complaining about reliability, I've never had an issue- I drive them on and off road and I just do routine service and no problems, even on the older models. This new one is nice, but for me, I don't see how it's worth twice the price of the base model. The best deal is the Supercharged V8 model optioned out nicely. The added items of the Autobiography and SV Dynamic just don't add up to another 80 grand. And the new exhaust sounds nice in the video, but can get tiring. These trucks are usually smooth & quiet until you hit the pedal which seems very regal. The loud exhaust is already bothersome after only a couple of weeks. The new in control apps & screen are not very intuitive to use and so far is a disappointment- and the stop start stumbling feature is better off disconnected in a sporting truck such as this (just pull the negative terminal from its battery). Don't get me wrong- I like the truck very much, but it's just not worth the dough for not even 10% more power, some revised stitching and switches, an exhaust that looks tacked on a bumper where it doesn't belong (the rear bumper should be redesigned), and the same but different color grills and body moldings. How much can that possibly cost them?? It was the active antiroll bars that caught my interest, but they're hardly noticeable if at all. The ride is uncomfortably hard when the standard V8 Supercharged is the best of both worlds in sport mode. Great truck- but stick with the V8 Supercharged model. Lastly- The new lane keep assist and blind spot monitoring are driver intrusive and are better off kept in the off settings. They practically cause an accident because they take the wheel from your intended path more often than they keep you from wandering out of your lane. A guy who drives one of these is likely more sporting and intent on his path behind the wheel and when I'm driving these features take the vehicle from where I want to go and too often cause scary situations. If you like the look, the grills and vents on a lesser model are available in so many versions/colors and are cheap enough...
Exactly, that's what people dont understand, no matter what car, you still have to pop the hood at least once a week to check if everythings ok. that's what responsible owners do. and btw I'm pretty sure that the people who say that Range Rovers have issues probably have never owned one.
jody024 I also call it a truck, truck would usually be a great name for the older models when they were a little more rugged, but this new beast is different, I still love them all thp
You restored my hopes of buying one In the future. I've seen some comments about how often this car breaks down and wasn't sure if they were telling the truth or if theyre shitty car owners
of course i want one and always have..but theres a reason we dont see very many older ones..just like older mercedes and all luxury cars...when they get older they become too expensive to keep repairing..$5000 here and there and you think its better to just buy a new one
Before you say anything you little know it all it is a 2018 it’s just an early 2018 that’s why it doesn’t have the touch pro duo screen with the dual screens and the seat controls are different. So keep your mouth shut on a topic that you know nothing of
Josh Williams I appreciate your reply, Josh. Thanks for providing a first-hand experience. While I admire Range Rovers in every other aspect, reliability is an absolute priority. Since I don't need that much off-road capability, I'll trade my current ML63 AMG for a Cayenne Turbo.
Master ah well we live in the country so it is very useful to use to drive across our land. We currently have a Toyota Land Cruiser but we are thinking of going back to a Land Rover or Range Rover due to being brilliant off road.
Master if I may ask is the Cayenne Turbo more reliable than this current Range Rover? JDL has gone a long way to improve its reliability ratings by improving its warranty conditions. In my opinion I think you should worry more about its reliability if you are shopping for a used vehicle instead. If you are getting this brand new I doubt the Porsche cayenne will be better off cause it doesn't even have a 5 year warranty plan that covers everything in the car. This argument always creeps up when Range Rover brings out a luxury beast that outshines the German competition. It's not as if German brands have incredible reliability other than Audi that is rated quite highly by consumer reports the others struggle extensively in reliability ratings. In my opinion as well any one who can afford this uber luxury Suv won't really bother much about its reliability cause it won't be his or her only ride in the first place. I have read comments like these from German fanboys when Lexus is brought into the equation to show how unreliable their cars are. They claim most lease German cars and trade in for a new one after 4 years or so they never really get to worry about relaliabilty. But when Range Rover or Jaguar is brought up the same German fanboys bring up issues on reliability.
Granted it's a great car but I honestly don't think it's worth the extra. Yes it sounds nice and yes it looks very mean, but it's less comfy than the Autobiography... Some may argue that the full-blown SVAutobiography is a better bet but surely that extra £50K+ can't be justified over the near perfect Autobiography. Personally if I were looking for a sporty Range Rover, I'd have the Sport, and if I wanted a proper Range Rover, I'd just have the normal Autobiography and save considerable money because that thing offers such good refinement, I don't believe it can be topped!
if they actually made range rovers affordable they would make a lot more money. Drop the price 15k and they'd bring in more revenue. Right now its just priced for people who have too much money to begin with.
That's the purpose the Evoque serves. An entry level into the brand. If the price is a sticking point for customers, a well specified Land Rover could be an alternative.
Dhruv S. They aren't even in the segment of class, why would you compare a sedan with an Suv? You should name an Suv available from Mercedes-Benz that can beat this. I'm sure u can't cause there's absolutely none.
Why are range rover still unreliable pieces of shit cars? Almost every person I know who owns one has had issues starting from weeks of ownership and they have been always going to dealerships getting repairs on leaks, electronics not working etc... It seems to me 95% of their R&D and budget is on interior and luxury but they dont focus on making rest of the car reliable and continue to be on the bottom of the reliability list.
dude, both from local land rover dealership one is a 2017 Sport and other one is a 2016 Range Rover, and both have had problems within days/weeks of delivery. one started leaking a few months in and other one the auto/on off malfunctioned. Granted they give you few yrs warranty, but im scared that once that shit is over the car repair is gonna be exp af. Are you considering buying one?
nope fuck that, after what you have said i dont even wanna think about it ill just stick to my 2013 g63, but the thing that made me sad is the fact that this is an amazing luxury suv i think we can both agree that its the most luxurious suv out there but definitely not the most reliable, if not reliable at all, sorry for my shit english lol.
Rhyme905 I have a client that owns Range Rovers bought brand new, the 2015 model year. He owns the Range rover sport Autobiography, has the full sized one Autobiography as well. I see him always and we take trips in these cars and he has never had an issue with them once in almost two years now. You shouldn't bring isolated incidents or few friends you know who have had problems and conclude it's general. The same applies with German luxury cars and Suv, I know few who have had major issues and some who haven't with brand new cars. I haven't concluded that German cars are all unreliable and if you decide to bring up ratings other than Audi the German competition have weak reliability ratings as well.
so you literally just gave me two incidents of your client and then you said dont generalize lmfao. let's face it, land rover has shit reliability. It is my word against yours so we are at 0 but have a look at objective tests and other rankings and u will see it is really unreliable. There will ofc be more shittier cars and more reliable models, maybe my freinds got shitty ones and your clients got reliable ones, but averages show more are unreliable hence its a general company reliability problem not a one-off. Compare them to other luxury brands like Porsche which rank high, LR really needs to fix their R/D. LR are great SUV if you have full warranty, but after warranty is done, good luck.
Peter Smith nope , porsche 911 c4s , Dodge Challenger hellcat, bmw x6 m ,bmw m3 and a ford f 150 platinum and a collection of motorcycles , now you go in your stupid kia and clean 🧼 bathrooms 🚽 👍🏻 got the wrong one
i drove the 2017 MERCEDES BENZ GLS550 and it drives better than the piece of shit range rover plus the the range rover will spend most of its time in shop breaking down
We have just road tested the new Range Rover Sport HST mild hybrid: ua-cam.com/video/dZV2rkRUUl4/v-deo.html
I bought one of these, and I loved it,
I was the happiest a man could be.
Until I woke up 🙁
Maybe one day...
Inside Lane what color silver is this?
It's factory paint. You can check it out on the LR website.
Too good to be true.... I knew it
A small house on wheels has no business sounding that good ;)
It is totally crazy! And I love it!
Inside Lane I'm not surprised!
Had the chance to drive the 2017 autobiography the other day, all I can say is what a beast worth the money no doubt about that 🖒
@HeyItsH 132,000 pounds msrp he sais it in the vid plus theres something called google
This is a 2017 the 2018 had a refresh that added a lower climate control screen and full LED head lights as well as a few other minimal changes
I've had half a dozen Range Rovers and now this one. And to all of you complaining about reliability, I've never had an issue- I drive them on and off road and I just do routine service and no problems, even on the older models.

You called it a Truck.... my soul hurts a little :P Agree with the rest of what you said.
jody024 I also call it a truck, truck would usually be a great name for the older models when they were a little more rugged, but this new beast is different, I still love them all thp

Well, we have a 2011 Range Rover. That one already is really good, but the new one really is some levels above ours.
What. .??! I can't believe you forgot to tell us about the 2 refrigerators... and that's my favourite feature of the car....😍😙
Great Review of the best Range Rover Model yet. I wonder If any of your friends would buy one
Thank you! Sadly none of my friends have a spare £132,000 or at least they haven't told me if they have.
Looking forward to 2020 ill be good to Go 👀🏁😎 upgrade my Version to this Autobiography
Excellent review thanks.
Awesome, I am getting one. 😎
"gives you very good peripheral vison of what's around you!" As opposed to peripheral vision of what's in front of you?
This is not the 2018 Range Rover SV Aotobiography!
Before you say anything you little know it all it is a 2018 it’s just an early 2018 that’s why it doesn’t have the touch pro duo screen with the dual screens and the seat controls are different. So keep your mouth shut on a topic that you know nothing of
Isn’t this 2017? Because 2018 the exterior lights got a refresh on the taillights and headlights
Looks great, but what good is it if Land Rover has the worst reliability of any major brand?
Master oh so ur one of them dumbasses, they fixed the reliability in the new models
Master. my mother owned a Range Rover and it was a lovely car and I love them dearly but I do agree with you, they are not very reliable.
Josh Williams I appreciate your reply, Josh. Thanks for providing a first-hand experience.

I've got to have one if these, although it cost as much as a rolls royce!. Its worth the money I think😀
the top one now is the same long wheel base one nearly £200000
The worlds most expensive Autobiography! The first chapter 542bhp was impressive. Not so much the ending, 22mpg!
im not gonna lie, i like the way the new velar looks significantly more than the full-fledged range rover. thats just me
It is excellent
This truck is sexy. Too bad it's ridiculously out of my price range!
truck??!!
Hillbilly get outta here we don't need your big trucks shooo
@HeyItsH 150,000 to 300k for the one that is super luxurious in the back
which music is this in the beginning of video?
How comes it's a 66 reg and not a 68? Does it not work like that?
Chance The Rapper ok thanks a lot :)
What color is this? Indus or Verbier Silver on the exterior?
Indus Silver on this one.
Why is there a rubber duck in the boot of the car?
What duck? ;) #WhatTheDuck
Inside Lane In 3:14
That's Jeffrey the duck. He pops up in many of our videos.

This is definitely not your neighbors Range Rover. The Autobiography should be seperated more
Damn, what do I need to do to afford one of these...
@Ron Heimler Keep dreaming tree hugger.
Sell drugs
Sell some cocaine
What's the safety rating on these?
weirdshibainu 5 star
Packs a punch lol. Those performance figures as embarrassing low for such car.
We test the all-new 2017 Land Rover Discovery: ua-cam.com/video/bDFWiKuy2tw/v-deo.html

but evoques look bad :( (my opinion of course)
The prestige m8
In Sweden this car starts at £165000....
You know their currency is krona not pounds 🤣
Love love love :-) :-)
prefer the svr
Ew those exhaust look like cheap aftermarket ones
Welp, anyone wanna buy my toaster for 150,000$?
😢😢😢😢😢😢قلبي الصغير لايتحمل
Has the same engine from the Sport SVR, I'm disappointed....
Why is that a bad thing?
It had the potential to go over the Sport SVR. (Excuse my late response the notification got lost apparently) Still a Dream vehicle for me though.
This is a 2017 not a 2018
This IS a 2018 it’s just a very early 2018 so don’t say anything about a topic you know nothing of
Was it shown at the auto show in early 2017? ? Officially listed in early 2018? ? Is the time interval too long?
m.ua-cam.com/video/qAOjqUYECu0/v-deo.html
Is this one launched in 2015? I don't know if you understand it
I'd prefer a Maybach-Mercedes S600
Dhruv S. They aren't even in the segment of class, why would you compare a sedan with an Suv? You should name an Suv available from Mercedes-Benz that can beat this. I'm sure u can't cause there's absolutely none.
Dhruv S. Amy g wagon
scott smith You have to be G wagon fan to compare this to a G wagon
its about time they redesign the range rover . the design got kinda boring

the most overpriced ugly and pointless brand in the world , they look so ugly like a glorified ford explorer
Better not buy one then. Stick with your Kia.
$170k.. shit
Jeffrey Rose £170k = roughly $190k
i drove the 2017 MERCEDES BENZ GLS550 and it drives better than the piece of shit range rover plus the the range rover will spend most of its time in shop breaking down
Adam 2016 sounds like Adam needs to spend a lot of time in the therapy shop himself
piece of overpriced crap
