the first fendt I've seen in 25 years with out air
It's a 512 that identifies as a pre-emissions 516. Classic.
Hi from oz mike. Theonly reason you have starting issues with those duetz engines is you live in the wrong country. Lol. I have 2009 714 and it starts easy every time and there is no def. For those who dont know a -5 C is a big frost and 5C day is bloody cold. And you dont know what a hot day is. Lol. My thanks for your entertaining videos.
Mike changes machinery more often than his underwear...
Most big operations do. We change tractors many times a year.
Mike and his tractors! 👍🚜🚜
i love my 516 Gen3, fully featured. we make over 1200hrs in a year, loving it, for us its perfect
The. Buckets work cool
They use them type loading at ethanol plant for dry and wet distillers grain. Also most large grain terminals pile grain on the ground use them type buckets on payloaders
Would you mind doing a video on the pros and cons of your brother's tractor? With his permission and input of course!
Don't worry Mike, winter is only 6 months in Canada, it'll start fine the rest of the year.
Norwegian here, I´d love for winter to only last 6 months...
I have relatives on my moms side from Norway. @@olenilsen4660
That's called a rollout bucket
@@delbutler885 The manufacturer of this bucket HLA Attachments calls it "High Dump Bucket".
Mike, I pray for the time you have a bumper crop, and you build your dream shop! Congratulations on your 200k subscribers from Hanna, Indiana
Great awesome video Mike. Mikes in love with fendt
Cool tractor! Affordable workhorse, will do many hours! 👍
Good choice Mike. 👌
Well Mike what’s spring without the Oilers playing LA in the playoffs! Go Oilers Go! Hope you have a good planting season and rain!
For LED´s - put two big bars on the roof - one front and one back, then figure out where else you need it and place lights accordingly. I hate original lights because they are only there to make the tractor look cool in brochures. Nothing else. Otherwise, some of the halogen lights are very good as well, and there is a volume of light and a quality of light. LED is volume, Halogen is quality, and Xenon as well. LED will f up your depth perception.
Also, put small lights above and around the driver side stairs, at the hookup, under the hood. Anywhere it feels right. Anywhere you want to check daily. Like motor oil, hydraulics....
Great tractor and also a nice bucket on that frontloader that's handy that hy dumb bucket.👍
Love the videos keep up the great work
We moved away from farm kings and went to Westfield AGI, what a hell of a auger, way better built than a farm king, the spine is heavier duty , smoother, doesn't bang when it's empty, way better overall haha
Nice looking tractor Mike
Great video Mike
Hi mike.
We got rear fender extensions for our 516 from a 7series. They are a size longer and wider so they run down to your stairs keeping them and your mirrors clean in winter conditions. You do have to redrill some holes. Otherwise perfect fit.
Good luck
Mike, check out the new quicke q9s loaders. 3000kg SWL perfect size for 9'er fendts
I counted 12 combine headers, ...... impressive. 😉😀
You must be new to the channel? Mike's family has quite the impressive amount of equipment!
@@TheJimmybud
No I'm not new to the channel, I started watching from the beginning a couple years ago, I know most of the equipment they have on the North and South farm.
Two years ago they had 7 combines ( Fendt), last year they had already 11 ( N and S ) and now I saw 12 headers, that's why I reacted to this video. 😉
I know Mike has now 3 JD S690's and 2 JD X9-1000's, the others are from the South farm.
An@@TheJimmybud
if the 512 struggles to start, you can get gear reduction starter and optima batteries are fantastic in the cold
You should get a small case magnum 180 or 220 mike
when winter time rolls around turn your sterring wheel while cranking!
I just watched this video " Every Air Seeder is BIGGER in Australia... " and i think some of the modifications might be useful to you, RedEAg channel
I believe everything is bigger & larger in Australia, especially the mental Institutions!
Only joking my Aussie friend, best wishes from the UK 🇬🇧 🇦🇺.
@@leddielive I am now here watching Mikes videos does that make me Canadian? we have no best wishes here in the UK to send to anyone not even to those convicts. Our unelected cretin masquerading as a PM thinks that God is a cow, think about it.
Some places in saskatchewan could go bigger especially in the south but our land has lots of low spots that in wet years bigger would not be better
Great area to move large equipment, but higher yield is more important then just being rural. And I absolutely love being rural.
someone with no British sense of humor removed my comment, heh
Tractors? That reminds me, I’d better get out of bed and go to work.
Well wear Mike they are a great machine
Mike, you never thought about a Massey with dyna vt transmission? Might be sold by the same dealer as well.
Agco power engine and same transmission as the fendt
We just went through a same dilemma with tractors needed a loader and smaller size to keep on front of bagger and extractor we ended up going with a Duetz 5120G checked all the boxes!
i just cant get behind the deutz starting hard, ive never had an issue, and ive been running fendt since 2004 been through every generation available since then, as long as the block heater is plugged in they have started no problem, down to -35 i just dont get how its an issue for you one prov. away
Your bagger/auger tractor is more lavish than my main tractor. Lol
Call the tip toe bucket in the uk Mike, lovely tractor.
Toe tip
Hi Mike, how about putting a front end loader back on Ernie & then strap him on the back of that service trailer. You could even put a small rear mounted sprayer on the back of Ernie & it could double as a counter weight & be full of water for fire fighting duties? I realise you have your true equipment needs covered but I am just scratching my head to think of a great use for Ernie, he reminds me of an old MF 165 we farmed with back in the 1980 & nostalgia has possibly got the better of me. Love the videos, keep them coming please.
Mike needs a big boat in the ocean. Ernie 1 and 2 could then find their true calling in life. They are boat anchor material
Nice tractor
Nice Fendt 💪
If I remember correctly the other fendt's cranking speed is really poor during the winter. I would look into the highest cold cranking amp batteries you can shove in there. With some large guage cables. Winter will be interesting
Mike magnifique tracteur serie5 fent et le chargeur et le dode et bien intéressante et bien équipés 😂😅😊😮
Love that you know exactly what your previous tractor was ;D;D;D "It was a gen...mndmdmfb - had the Fendt1 cab! I feel this so bad! I had this all in order in my early days, but now I forgot more than I ever knew, it seems!
I guess you just have to move on and adapt if you want to stay in the game, so somehow we need to expel all that old nerd knowledge, because the fact is, it doesn´t matter today. And today is what we need to bring food to the table, right? So yeah, f that old 7spankmeohmylord. Now Ernie is another story. That´s a childhood memory, and nobody forgets those.
Mike if the Def has been deleted. You need to have someone come tune that tractor should gain a easy 25hp to 30hp
He said it now identifies as a 516, which implies it has already had the power bumped up.
It's super weird you say deutz engins don't start I worked at a dealership for a few years and never had problems starting them in cold I remember starting a m650 which is 180hp and it was -26c no problem starting
Hay Mike to keep your grain bags dry hook up your fert dryers you just installed on your air carts..............
I think of costs and investments and how that factors into your operational profitability.
Morning
Beauty Mike
WEBASTO for the win!!!
Next time get a 9kW 😂
But watch out to not assemble it too high in the coolant cycle. It needs to be below the extension tank, otherwise air bubbles accumulate in the heat exchanger and it fails long term...
F Webasto, go Eberspãcher! ;)
Mike, do you have much luck with edge without working it in? I was always told harrowing it in was necessary but harrowing wastes fuel and packs soil so would rather float it instead.
You should consider a newholland they are really good tractors for the smaller size
Those rear tyres look very close to the middle pods with the steps in to reach the cab. One wheel doesn't have anything to protect the pod.If the wheels get too much mud does that maybe impact things?
😀😀😀😀
Buy a pushout bucket lol (popular with us dairies
The bucket should have a plate with the cubic yards on the bucket
👍
L7 take the friggin sticoff your hat 😂😂
We picked a used 514 & loader a couple of years ago. It's a really nice little tractor with all the goodies on it except air. It joined our old 712 as a second loader tractor, both with grapples. I wish all of our Fendts had the front window that comes over the top of the cab.
I was a big massey fan until the sun there factory's down in canada now I'm a versatile guy but unfortunately they don't make anything that small
I have never heard of any cab tractor in last 25 years with no air, and we sold a pile of them.
I guess it could be special ordered like that but it would have been more money for less! Hard to imagine!
I’ve seen plenty of them around that’s not unusual. What is your location?
He means the air brake system, not air conditioning.
@@jenslorenzen-fh3oe didn’t think of brakes, was thinking air conditioning!
From Ontario
I guess the new Fendt 600er series with the new agco core 50 engine is too expensive at the moment for this job.
The worst thing agco could do is put an agco engine into a fendt. Just let fendt do what they want. I was worried this would happen right when agco first bought fendt. Look what's happened to Massey over the decades.
The Massey is as nice as it's ever been!
@@davidthorne2129agco engine is made by sisu, Finland. Sisu engines were good and they could run 20k hours without problems if maintained well, so i dont think its bad to put them into Fendts, unless new low rpms model isnt as good as they were, but we will see that in the future 🙂
@@mindem9055 that's true and many of them are now made in China. They're not what they used to be.
👋🏼😎
Is it small enough to be moved on a trailer by a pickup truck?
I cannot believe it….
Is your new to you tractor, 4 Cylinder?
We have 516 with the big 5x90 loader on it.
Why wouldnt you get the bigger loader?
Mike didn't put the loader on the tractor someone else did. He just added the roll out bucket
728 perhaps?
You trade and or buy tractors/equipment all the time. How do you keep from losing money?
Sometimes you lose money but sometimes you make money or break even.. Example, the Fendt 1167 I used for 2 seasons sold it back to the dealer for the same price as I paid. I ran that tractor at no cost for years due to the rising costs of equipment. Now, normally you pay that difference going into something different or new but in this particular situation I didn't due to the Case 580s were on ground for a year and were also cheaper than new. Sometimes you win but sometimes you lose. 🙂
Honestly this is how all big farmers do it… you have to have a Revolving door of equipment. You just simply can’t afford to have breakdowns with old used equipment and the warranty and dealer service is worth more than the money you would save on used equipment.
😊@@mikemitchell2554
Should've gotten a valtra for cold starts
Where in North America would you even begin to find parts?? If a simple water pump went out it could take 6 weeks to get a replacement… I can run down to the local Fendt dealer and have one the same day.
@@crandonborth it's as if as 1. canada is cold just like finland and oneself should consider starting a valtra dealership and 2. valtra and fendt are both owned by agco
Is there any Valtra dealers, if is so buy Valtra N or T series tractor. They have motors made by Sisu and they start on all temperatures.
If possible you must try those, 5 gen is great an if need for bigger so try Q or S series they have Fendt cvt
I think you’re underestimating Canada’s winter temperatures… 😂 -40c is not uncommon.
@@crandonborthwell I don't underestimate at all. Here in Finland we have those temperatures also. Valtra is made here in Finland and it is very popular tractor in Scandinavia, mostly because it's designed to work in these conditions.
@@ratapuuhastelija67 The biggest problem is the cost of shipping a euro tractor to North America and than not having dealer service wouldn’t make financial sense.
@@crandonborth Valtra is a part of Agco company as well as Fendt what is from Europe, I think you can get Valtra also from your Agco dealer.
@@ratapuuhastelija67 Not in North America you can’t… I think it’s some kind of trade agreement with AGCO. Fendt tractors here are limited from what they are capable of as well in Europe. The speed limits are all capped at like 50kph for the US and Canada.
If iys about cold ststart isdue you shouod go for valtra
Well either youre not running the augers at full capacity or my tractor is kaput. A 260 magnum is set on his ass with a full auger like this
How many rings?
@@mikemitchell2554 9 rings. 25000 bushels, the auger is 1 foot longer
That's surprising, the 516 (160hp)wont run it at a 100% capacity by no means but I am shocked that your Magnum won't run it with ease..
@@mikemitchell2554 well it's doing it pretty good but it's running it at like 95% power, at lentils maybe a little more even
@@mikemitchell2554you need to hire a crew to haul around Ernie 😁. I'm just teasing. Imagine trying to justify that cost 😂😂
How much is a tractor like that worth?
rough estimate: 100 - 120 k
Nice bucket
I say it again! Buy a Fendt 700 gen7!!!!
Just get a Massey then it will start
Money bags mike.
🥺😩😡😡
Hard starting and no air. Strike two
Air= Air brakes not air conditioning lol
@@crandonborth air brakes on a tractor???
@@lordhoho1 Yes… the parking brake on most Fendts is air activated. This particular tractor is mechanical with a pull lever on the left side of the cab seat.
@@crandonborth ok thanks
Some tractors have compressed air to operate the trailer brakes, just like a truck.
You back to A BAD starting DEUTY . THIER parts & service in the US suck for help .
Nice loading gran with that
we lay over 30bags a yr. the bagger tractor is from the early 80's, runs all day. the graint cart operator manually drives the tractor from his cab with a remote. guy only gets out to rev up, start/off pto
Grab some parts and add the the rev up and pto engage to the wireless.
