Looking forward to doing a full series with breakdowns of Aura and Profit Protector Pro soon! Enjoy the video and let me know your thoughts here in the comments :-)
Good video 👍 Jimmy, we got some amazing updates coming, making the announcement on 3/24. Really excited! I agree with you having over 100 active SKUs it's time to get a repricer and enjoyed watching your Replen course on PAC. Look forward to connecting with you in the near future.
Immediately I have my repricer turned on. For new sellers I recommend doing so when you can afford a repricer and the one I like the most right now is Aura's Early Stage program for $27/month. I have a link you can use at www.askjimmysmith.com/earlystage
I just watched the top two videos for my search on this and it was yours and another guys, and it's funny b/c you two are saying ABSOLUTELY the opposite things. He doesn't recommend Bqool b/c it apparently had issues in the past. You have it #1. He used informed, you say it's trash. Haha But honestly, most ppl I know use either aura or bqool. Looks like your vid was a year ago. Do you feel better about eva now? Tried again recently, by chance? Are you still team bqool? Great review, btw!
Haha that's funny! I've used Informed for a long time, it's not trash but I don't believe it applies to the majority of sellers. BQool DID have issues in the past but I've spoken with the company and they've fixed those issues from over 2 years ago at this point. I love Aura, PPP, and BQool for the majority of sellers. I've done Demo videos on all 3 and will be doing more on repricers like Seller Snap and others.
@@AskJimmySmith I actually somehow put this comment on your video instead of the other guy. Lol... meant to comment on his. Weird. But good to know your updated take on things. Thanks!
Thank you for the video. I'm using Bqool with the $25/mo 15min reprice setting. Any thoughts or seen any data that would make it worth upgrading to the instant reprice for $100/mo?
Once you get over 250 Active SKUs to me that extra cost makes sense. If you have the capital do it sooner. Repricing being much faster helps tremendously since you're competing against sellers who have instant repricers. Also in BQool you get a bunch more in the benefits of the software at $100/month
For Used books, all 3rd-party repricers are basically worthless because they're totally blind to about 85-95% of the Prime offers due to Amazon's API limitations. You can match the Used Buy Box on everything, but this isn't wise due to the BB's very often being held by one of the low-balling mega sellers or other sellers who only care about being the lowest price whether there's any profit left or not. I've never sold anything but books, and so I don't know how effective they are for other categories. I've thought about other categories, but I live upstairs in an extremely small apartment, have a very bad knee, and so don't really know how to expand into anything else besides FBA books.
Hey Terry - books are one of the categories we don't do much of. We sell in over 20 different categories but books typically aren't one of them. Repricers work extremely well with new products competing with other FBA sellers. For books, depending on the repricer you can set different parameters to only compete with other sellers that the same condition level as you are, with sellers that have a certain number of feedback and higher, etc. I'm not proficient with books but I do know there are repricer features that can help. I would recommend other categories so you can build replenishable products. That will help stabilize your business and allow it to grow much more sustainably than always having to be on the hunt for new (used) books you can sell. Check out my video on the channel about selling your first $10,000 on Amazon where I explain the basics of replens so you can get a good idea of what I'm talking about more. Sorry to hear about your knee!
@@AskJimmySmith Thanks. I'll definitely watch it. But first, I'd like to know if the replens model can work for someone living in a small town, or must you live in a large city with all the giant box stores?
@@GoldAndSilver988 Definitely can work in small towns, we have over 1,000 success stories using the replens model and many of them live in small towns. Obviously in big towns you have a ton of opportunity, but with small towns you may be able to find some more niche and regional/local products that aren't found in the big towns
It's up to what is best for your business but with 5 SKUs you could get by with a less expensive repricer like Profit Protector Pro at bit.ly/ppprepricer OR if you want some more advanced features for wholesale selling, then check out BQool at bit.ly/replensbqool
I'm sure each repricer is different - I don't run sales often since we do arbitrage, but we would turn off the repricer for a sale specifically so that it doesn't throw anything with the sale pricing off
@@AskJimmySmith Thank you! So manually going in to reprice when something is currently listed on sale is pointless, right? Repricing strategy does not apply to sale items?
@@socialbenbrown If we have something on sale we turn off repricing, so unless you want to change the sale price, then yes it would be pointless to mess around with it if you truly have it on sale for a short period of time
Pretty sure I posted the first comment. but I don't see it. Was it deleted or am I just getting more clueless. I did really enjoy the video. My comment mentioned the EVA repricer which I would like some comment on.
Hey! I never saw it come through so I didn't delete it :-) I've never heard of anyone in my circles using the EVA repricer. From their website it looks very robust but I have no experience to speak from regarding them. Seems very much tailored more to Private Label sellers, it's one that is worth looking into a demo if it fits your business model and pricing needs.
Im very confused with how these AI work. I only have about a dozen or more OA listings. I rarely get the Buy box. I usually go with the lowest FBA price as long as it makes about a 15% profit minimum If I go a few days without selling I will try lowering the pricing but a few Pennies but then the others go a few Pennie’s lower than that. If I don’t make any $$$ then I can’t keep investing that money back in:( I just want to cry!!!!!! 😢 Any ideas to help me here? I’d be so grateful with a few ideas I could follow.
Well it really depends on multiple factors. Utilizing Keepa as best as possible will help avoid this situation, but it still happens. If you are correct in making money on 50-60% of your listings (we are typically around 80% of the time we make money), then you will come out ahead in the long run. Also, test small quantities before ever making big purchases. You don't need to be the lowest price. Amazon's Buy Box rotates based on location of the consumer and your products as well, so many people are doing well at a few dollars higher than the Buy Box if you're willing to wait. Typically after 30 days we start to lower prices and then at 60 days we really push our prices lower to get our capital back for new purchases.

Great info Jimmy. I was looking for a repricer so the timing is perfect!
