Empty looking FPS game maps are always like that. I once played by myself on Two Fort, I felt like something was waching me from every corner. Whenever I look at it, was running away before I can get a clean look to understand what it is. There wasn't anyting there, I knew that was just the liminal space feeling, but it was still horrifiying.
i felt the same thing, i think its just the fact at this point 2000’s/early 2010s videogame maps are kind of nostalgic for our current generations age (18-25 ish) so seeing familiar things like this invoke the same familiarity that liminal spaces do
