It's interesting that you mention about that generic ooze blurb that we get on many of the boxes, but sometimes the generic blurb is pretty much necessary as this line is going so deep on character selection that we have figures of characters that there is pretty much nothing to write a blurb about since they were only on the show for a matter of seconds each! For example, Ace Duck and the human gang members come to mind. The same if they ever do that machine gun granny! 🤣

A fantastic review once again! I love your detailed breakdown and comparisons with the prior version. You do get a fair amount of new things with these new packs too, so I think it is worth it for the collectors that already have the turtles to try and pick these guys up. You get a new paint job on the turtles as well, so all-in-all, these Pizza Club turtles are a solid purchase!

I'm not into the cartoon line as much as the Mirage line (love the Kirby in the background), but these Turtle Boys releases are tempting. Also, you just have the best luck getting these before the official release date. I have been routinely searching for new NECA (and Jada) in my area Targets, and not a trace so far
I got VERY lucky with this wave
soft goods clothes on these turtles is just so charming! absolutely love chef mikey. great job showing NECA turtle fans what they want to see with the comparisons. shame these aren't coming with any alt heads. the matte plastic and dark green look fantastic but these don't really feel Ultimate with such a small assortment of swappable parts.
PS: really digging the color palette on space Donatello! almost kind of retro/vintage

Technically these aren’t “ultimates”, they’re just single release items, but we would definitely love some more swappable parts!
I love those little VHS-sleeves! Such a cool idea! And if the shine on your figures bothers you, then I recommend using Mr.SuperClear -sealant! It leaves a really nice matte-finish, and doesn't harm the figure at all. =)

I have to 4 Turtle in disguise pack, and i don't have purchased these new Ultimates versions.
But to me, the main good point of the Ultimate is that they are stand alone figures to purchase (i hope i write it right).
And that's the problem with the 4 pack wich is not available anymore and never was easy to catch.
Otherwise, i keep thinking the turtles in disguise are much interesteting because of the multiples faces you can get.
8 possibilities is huge.
Thsi new turtle has juste one head if 'im not mistaking, wich is very poor and mean from NECA.
There are several accessories, but i'm nit sure they are all cartoon accurate.
I don't remember the puppet.
The Gorgonzal yes, and he is cool.
And yes, the white hat from the disguise pack fits to Mickey, he had it in an episode in wich a was working for Shredder by selling pizzas, in season 3.

Effects are always available (for now), but the street scene is a totally different process to order on my end, so only limited supplies left

Great review and comparison. I think the smile at 11:35 with that "face top" gives Mikey kind of a hilarious worried Wallace (from Wallace and Gromit) expression. I kinda dig it, honestly. But I definitely agree that an alternate head would've been much better.

I have the four pack that released after the turtles in disguise. The things it's missing is the masks hats pants and trench coats. I was hoping the turtles punk attires were going to be in the single ultimates. But noooooooo! Neca has to screw us again. I'm like seriously Neca. If you're going to screw us, please take us out to dinner first 😂. Perhaps 🍕.

Another great review with plenty of humor that we come to expect! While this shade of green would be great for: turtles in the shadows... it does limit swapability... if that is a word. I'm still a bit torn as to whether I grab these, if I find them. But I know I want the Punk Turtles... only time will tell... will I find them? Who knows?

I have your live action Turtles movie VHS boxes, but have you done the FHE cartoon ones? "Heroes in a Halfshell," "Hot Rodding Teenagers," "Cowabunga, Shredhead"? Those would go GREAT with the BK ones...
I did a handful of those, but not many. I would love to do more stuff from the show, but it’s hard to find without watching too many episodes lol

I have the arcade figures, so I will be buying all of the pizza club figures, or at least just Donnie, because for the first time, you got a spinning Bo staff effect! But the pizza club figures were just a better deal then spending 300$ on the turtles in disguise set in my opinion.

I don't collect turtles but just wanted one definitive cartoon-colored set in my display, I thought the turtles in disguise were going to fill that hole. Unfortunately the new one looks so much better IMO The paint is amazing! I'm going to have to track these down now😅

Coming up empty, I thought to myself, “What kind of douchebag just buys ONE turtle brother? Johnny Nostalgia - that’s who.” So until I find Mikey to complete this set, your face will be the one I think about punching every time I pass that shelf.

Yes. Those heads are swappable so anyone can use the parts or be a Samurai or Space figure
Definitely prefer the V2 Turtles in Disguise figures.
Several reasons:
1). The second batch of TiD was matte too, but with a more accurate shade of green skin.
2). The lack of cell shading on these solo releases aren't uniform with the rest of the (cell shaded) toon line.
3). The less vibrant plastron colour (front of a turtle shell) is _overall_ more accurate to the show.
_*Interesting thing with my TiD sets; my V1's had matte bodies & glossy heads, and my V2's had glossy bodies & matte heads....so I Frankensteined the perfect set. But I believe most ppl's sets weren't this way, with first batch = glossy, second batch = matte._
It's crazy what all happened throughout the release of the TID sets. Def the best value. I noticed they switched the front shell to the Style Guide turtles (bright green sets)

_Yeeeah,_ noticed that front shell colour when we got high res images from a con. Really bizarre they went the style guide route. As cool as it'd be to get the buddy figs & other stuff, I'll have to pass...but awesome for new collectors to get the brothers for non-super crazy pricing.
People that think this is a cash grab are short sighted; not understanding NECA always re-releases the brothers in some form every now and then. It'd be great if they could steadily pump them out.
I see that Kirby in the background, that's the figure I'm on the hunt for right now.

I dont have a set of turtles yet. Honestly, I think im going to hold out for an archie turtle set. I really wish that these pizza club sets had a little bit more going on to sweeten the pot. And honestly Im really looking forward to getting a set of street sharks. I would love to see how the sharks look next to the turtles. Because i may display my teams together.

They haven't stayed the same though. They updated the ankle joints from single ball joints to hinge and swivels with the turtles in disguise set. I hate the old hinge joints Neca used to use for hips and am hoping the eventually update those to ball joints on the cartoon turtles like they did with the Mirage shredder/Foot Soldier body.@@NostalgiaUnboxed

The good thing is that you are getting another chance on these turtles. I miss out on the neca cartoon Bebop, Rocksteady and Shredder. Would be nice if they were re-released.

@@angelm8921 I hope those get completely remade. Bebop and Rocksteady are some of their weakest (literally) figures. They were also based on hand sculpted stuff where the newer items are digital
